Chapter 25: Are you asking me to stand up for you?
The guard looked at Luo Qianyun, who was sitting in a wheelchair, and didn’t relax his vigilance just because she looked weak. He stopped her directly at the door.
In the courtyard, an old man with white hair, who was sitting under a tree drinking tea, seemed to notice the commotion. He looked up, “Xiao Yang, don’t scare the little girl. Maybe she’s lost her way.”
“I’m not lost, Grandpa Fu. I’m here to visit you on behalf of my teacher.” Luo Qianyun smiled at the old man with white hair, who was the once-famous Chief Fu.
Hearing this, Mr. Fu looked at her with a little more seriousness, “Who is your teacher?”
“My teacher’s surname is Chen, Professor Chen Mingsheng.” Luo Qianyun answered obediently.
Professor Chen Mingsheng was Luo Qianyun’s doctoral advisor and the director of the First Department of General Surgery at the Third Hospital. Due to Luo Qianyun’s special circumstances, she had been following her teacher for many years.
“It’s Old Chen.” Mr. Fu laughed when he heard the familiar name. “Xiao Yang, let the girl in.”
Hearing Mr. Fu’s words, the guard finally stepped aside, allowing Luo Qianyun to push her wheelchair into the courtyard.
However, looking at the wheelchair she was sitting on, Mr. Fu also curiously asked, “What happened to your leg? I haven’t heard Old Chen mention it before. Your leg can’t walk?”
“I went to a no-man’s zone before, and I was unlucky enough to be bitten by a wolf.” Luo Qianyun smiled.
Hearing this, Mr. Fu was also quite curious, “This kind of thing sounds like a game. You’re a brave little girl.”
“I’m not brave. I was scared to death at the time, but luckily I survived.” Luo Qianyun said.
Mr. Fu nodded with a smile, then looked at Luo Qianyun, “You just said that Old Chen asked you to come see me?”
This actually had quite a few problems, and Mr. Fu naturally didn’t believe it.
Luo Qianyun didn’t expect Mr. Futo be so easily fooled, and immediately said with a hint of apology, “Actually, I volunteered to come on behalf of my teacher.”
As she spoke, Luo Qianyun handed the box of tea leaves to Mr. Fu, “My teacher said this is the tea leaves he promised you.”
Mr. Fu took the tea leaves, looked at them while opening them, and asked, “What did your teacher tell you about this box of tea leaves?”
“My teacher didn’t say anything. He just told me to bring it to you.” Luo Qianyun said.
“Didn’t say anything… that’s not like him.” Mr. Fu said.
However, although he was a little strange, Mr. Fu didn’t ask further, “Although your teacher didn’t say anything, I won’t break my promise. Tell me, what do you want from this old man?”
Luo Qianyun didn’t hide anything, and simply told him about what had happened to her.
“Little girl, are you asking me to stand up for you?” Mr. Fu’s smile faded slightly. “Although this matter, your adoptive parents are also partly responsible, but this is ultimately a family matter. I, an outsider, can’t get involved.”
The Luo family, after all, is a prestigious family. How could they put themselves in a position of breaking the law?
They would find loopholes, and as long as they didn’t get caught, Luo Qianyun would have to bear it all by herself.
Outsiders really couldn’t get involved.
“Grandpa Fu, you misunderstood. I didn’t mean to ask you to stand up for me.” Luo Qianyun knew she didn’t have that much face to ask a stranger to stand up for her.
Even if the other party was her teacher’s friend, they were just her teacher’s friend. At most, she could only get a chance to meet them.
Seeing that Luo Qianyun wasn’t lying, Mr. Fu became a little interested, “Then tell me, what do you want me to do?”
“I just think that I’m a girl alone, and it’s easy to have accidents. I just want someone to help me when necessary. A close neighbor is better than a distant relative, so I came here this time hoping that Grandpa Fu could lend a helping hand when necessary.” Luo Qianyun said.
Regarding Luo Qianyun’s words, Mr. Fu didn’t think she was being paranoid.
After all, since the Luo family wanted her to go back and marry their son who had become a vegetable, and Luo Qianyun couldn’t go back obediently, she would naturally take some necessary measures.
As for what measures… for a girl alone, there were too many measures.
However, the phrase “a close neighbor is better than a distant relative” gave Mr. Fu some ideas. “The little girl lives nearby?”
“Coincidentally, I live in the house next door.” Luo Qianyun smiled.
“Next door…” Mr. Fu’s smile became more genuine. “You said you wanted me to help. I agree. If anything happens, come find me anytime.”
Seeing Mr. Fuagree so quickly, Luo Qianyun was surprised. She thought she would have to talk him into it for a while. “Thank you, Grandpa Fu.”
“Don’t be so polite. You’re Old Chen’s child who he’s watched grow up. Yun… anyway, I’ll help if I can.” Mr. Fu said.
Luo Qianyun: Yun?
After leaving two numbers for Luo Qianyun, Mr. Fu said, “You can call me during the day if you need anything. Call Xiao Yang at night. I’m old and go to bed early.”
“Thank you, Grandpa Fu.”
After watching Luo Qianyun disappear from view, Mr. Fu brewed a pot of tea with the newly arrived tea leaves. “How did Yunzheng, that kid, get involved with Old Chen’s precious disciple? If she hadn’t come to my door, I wouldn’t have thought of it.”
“I guess even Captain Lu doesn’t know.” Xiao Yang said.
Mr. Fu picked up the teacup, smelled the aroma of the tea, and tasted it with satisfaction. He didn’t bother with those matters.
However, thinking of Lu Yunzheng’s request before he left, Mr. Fu thought he should do more.
Back in the house, Luo Qianyun called her teacher…
Seeing that Mr. Fu was willing to help, Director Chen was also relieved. “The Luo family is a bunch of lunatics. It’s unbelievable that they would do this. Be careful for the next few days. Once you recover, you’ll be sent out for a while. That kid, Luo Qi, is also pitiful. Everyone is trying their best to see if they can create a miracle.”
As he spoke, Director Chen couldn’t help but say, “Otherwise, Qianyun, you should come live at your teacher’s house. Your stepmother is worried about you all day.”
“No need, teacher. I think it’s okay living here. Now that Grandpa Fu is willing to help, it should be fine.” Luo Qianyun politely declined her teacher’s kindness.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, but it was the same as the Song family. Luo Qianyun didn’t want the Luo family to hold a grudge against her teacher.
After being away from the internet for so many days, Luo Qianyun went to Pei Xianxian’s Weibo to take a look. Although the impact of the previous incident was still there, with her continuous purchase of water army to whitewash her, there were already many fans who had been deceived and raised the banner of true love.
They even boasted that the one who wasn’t loved was the mistress.
There were even marketing accounts posting videos, analyzing from a third-party perspective the differences between Lu Yan’s feelings for Luo Qianyun and his feelings for Pei Xianxian.
Once the banner of true love was raised, it also reduced a lot of the scolding.
However… was it true love? That was debatable.
Luo Qianyun felt that, having come this far, if she didn’t give them a gift, it wouldn’t be polite, would it?
So, Luo Qianyun offered a gift…
