Chapter 89: Couples dormitory?
“He enjoys watching drama but doesn’t seem to like playing around with romance,” Lu Yunzheng said.
Hearing this, Luo Qianyun pondered, “Does he have some background that’s not suitable to be mentioned?”
“Indeed, his family situation is complicated. If your friend ends up liking him, it could get troublesome—for both of them,” Lu Yunzheng reminded her.
Lu Yunzheng had warned her from the start, but alas, emotions often disregard mere warnings.
“Seems like trouble is unavoidable,” Luo Qianyun sighed. “By the way, is the name Mo Li real or fake?”
“His real name is Mo Yuan. Mo Li is the name he gave himself after leaving his family,” Lu Yunzheng replied.
Luo Qianyun nodded slowly. “One last question—should I persuade Yun Jing to like someone else? If she’s going to end up hurt, I feel it’s unnecessary for her to pursue it. She’s not that stubborn.”
Lu Yunzheng thought for a moment. “When it comes to emotions, if you can persuade her, try. If not, sometimes she’ll have to learn through experience.”
But really, this kind of thing can’t be untangled by outsiders—sometimes even the people involved don’t know what to do.
Shifting away from that topic, Luo Qianyun suddenly had a question in mind. “Do you live alone in your dorm in the military?”
“My dorm is a single room, but the space isn’t very big,” Lu Yunzheng answered.
“If I came to visit, where would I stay?” she asked curiously.
Lu Yunzheng responded with a counter-question, “What do you think?”
“I’m just curious~” Luo Qianyun teased. “You said the space isn’t big.”
“It’s small, but there’s still room for you,” Lu Yunzheng said, standing up with his phone. “Want me to show you my dorm?”
Luo Qianyun grinned, “Sure~”
Soon, Lu Yunzheng gave her a tour of his compact single dormitory. But when they reached the bathroom, Luo Qianyun spotted a pink towel. “Wait a minute—why is there a pink towel in your bathroom?”
Hearing her accusatory tone, Lu Yunzheng grabbed the pink towel, opened a drawer, and revealed several other items clearly meant for a woman.
Now, Luo Qianyun’s eyebrows furrowed tightly as she sarcastically asked, “Is this a single dorm or a couple’s dorm?”
“These are for you,” Lu Yunzheng explained helplessly.
“I’m not visiting for another ten days!” Luo Qianyun huffed, clearly doubting him.
Unbothered, Lu Yunzheng pulled a receipt out of the trash bin. “I bought them today. If you still don’t believe me, I can ask the store owner to send you surveillance footage tomorrow. How about that?”
Upon seeing the receipt, Luo Qianyun believed him.
“Fine, fine. I know it’s for me. But isn’t it a bit early to prepare when there are still ten days to go?” she teased.
“Maybe… I just want to see you sooner,” Lu Yunzheng admitted.
Goodness, Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but smile.
With his words, her anticipation grew as well. Ten days suddenly felt too long—how she wished time would fly by.
The next morning, as Luo Qianyun arrived at work at the hospital, she received a call from Song Yunjing.
Hungover from the previous night, Song Yunjing asked groggily, “Qianqian, did we run into Mo Li last night?”
“Yeah, you remember now?”
“No, not a thing,” Song Yunjing sighed. “Did he say anything?”
Luo Qianyun thought for a moment. “He said six words.”
“Which six words?”
“The first three were, ‘Do you need something?’ The last three were, ‘Got it.’”
“…Those six words are as good as saying nothing,” Song Yunjing muttered.
“I told him to find some time to sit down and talk with you,” Luo Qianyun added, recalling Lu Yunzheng’s warning. “But Yunjing, I asked Lu Yunzheng about Mo Li. His family is complicated. If you get involved with him, there might be trouble. His real name is Mo Yuan. He only started calling himself Mo Li after leaving his family.”
Hearing this, Song Yunjing chuckled. “Oh, come on. It’s too early to worry about that. We barely have any connection right now, and you’re already asking Lu Yunzheng about him. Are you that scared I’ll get hurt?”
“You’re an adult. I can’t control you. I’m just telling you the facts. Whatever decision you make, I’ll support you. But if you can cut your losses early, that’s what I’d prefer.”
“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. Oh, by the way, did my brother ask anything about this?”
“He did. I just said you were having some relationship troubles.”
Satisfied with this answer, Song Yunjing felt at ease.
After the call ended, Luo Qianyun refocused on her busy day, starting with a truck driver who had been in an accident.
That afternoon, she treated her colleagues to milk tea but received a call from Lu Yan’s father, Lu Hongyu.
After reprimanding Lu Yan for his behavior the previous day, Lu Hongyu invited Luo Qianyun to dinner so Lu Yan could apologize formally.
While an apology was fine, dinner was unnecessary, so she declined.
Later, her brother Luo Qi showed up at the hospital with their driver. As he walked into the emergency room, a nurse quickly recognized him.
“Looking for Dr. Luo? She’s busy at the moment,” the nurse said.
Luo Qi sat down in the waiting area. “I’ll wait here then.”
Watching him sit quietly, looking sunny and handsome, the nurse couldn’t help but feel a pang of pity. Despite his good looks and wealthy family, his mental condition was apparent.
When Lu Hongyu and Lu Yan arrived shortly after, they spotted Luo Qi as well.
“Xiao Qi, are you feeling unwell?” Lu Hongyu asked.
Given the close relationship between their families, Lu Hongyu had watched Luo Qi grow up, so the young man wasn’t unfamiliar with him.
But after the recent incident involving Luo Qianyun and Lu Yan, Luo Qi wasn’t keen on either of them.
So, upon hearing Lu Hongyu’s voice, he glanced at him briefly, then at Lu Yan, before returning to his phone game.
Unfazed by the lack of response, Lu Hongyu sat next to him. “I guess you’re here to see Qianyun too?”
Upon hearing his sister’s name, Luo Qi finally spoke, “She’s busy. Don’t bother her while she’s working.”
“Don’t worry, we won’t,” Lu Hongyu reassured him with a smile.
Seeing that they were indeed keeping quiet, Luo Qi was satisfied and resumed his game.
Meanwhile, a nurse informed Luo Qianyun about their arrival, leaving her with mixed feelings.
Both Lu Hongyu and Lu Yan seemed to enjoy ambushing people after work. Like father, like son indeed.
