Chapter 93: Lu Yunzheng, You Should Sleep!

Looking at Lu Yunzheng in front of her, Luo Qianyun hesitated for a moment, biting her lip lightly before asking, “Are you going back to the military district tonight?”

“It’s too late today; I’ll head back first thing tomorrow morning,” Lu Yunzheng replied, staring at her.

This wasn’t uncommon—after completing a mission, if it was too late, it wasn’t mandatory to return to the military district immediately.

“Then will you be staying at the Lu family home tonight?” Luo Qianyun asked again.

“Too tired to move,” Lu Yunzheng responded.

“You’re tired?” Luo Qianyun looked skeptical. “How come you seem so full of energy to me?”

Lu Yunzheng smiled faintly. “Seeing you gives me energy. I haven’t slept since yesterday.”

To complete the mission earlier, Lu Yunzheng and his team had endured over 24 hours of surveillance and action to capture their target in one swoop.

Afterward, he rushed back to Shangjing, so claiming he wasn’t tired would have been a lie.

When Luo Qianyun heard he hadn’t slept the previous night, she became serious and didn’t dare tease him further. “Why didn’t you say so earlier? Stop talking and go to bed now!”

“I want to take a shower first,” Lu Yunzheng said.

“Then hurry up. Every minute you delay is irresponsible to your body,” Luo Qianyun said earnestly, pushing him toward the bathroom.

Realizing that Lu Yunzheng didn’t have a change of clothes, she grabbed the room key and her phone, then dashed out, knowing the stores downstairs were still open.

Thanks to the speedy elevator and a helpful sales assistant, Luo Qianyun managed to buy everything and return before Lu Yunzheng came out of the bathroom.

But just as she caught her breath, Lu Yunzheng stepped out, wrapped in only a bath towel…

Seeing the towel and realizing what lay beneath, Luo Qianyun blushed fiercely. Flustered, she shoved the shopping bag into his hands. “There’s sleepwear, new clothes, and… underwear inside.”

Hearing this, Lu Yunzheng glanced at the contents of the bag, his eyes filled with amusement. He pinched her cheek lightly and said, “I’ll go change.”

When he came out wearing only pajama pants and no top, Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but ask, “Why aren’t you wearing the pajama top?”

Not that it wasn’t… nice. Cough, cough.

“It’d just need to come off later, so I figured I wouldn’t bother putting it on,” Lu Yunzheng replied casually as he walked.

Luo Qianyun’s face turned hot. “Who said anything about taking your clothes off?”

Lu Yunzheng laughed as he approached the bed. “I never said you would take them off.”

Sitting on the edge of the bed, he looked at Luo Qianyun. “Stretch out your hand.”

“For what?” she asked, puzzled, but extended her hand.

A bottle of medicinal liniment was placed in her palm. “Do me a favor—my shoulder’s injured. Could you rub it for me?”

“Your shoulder’s injured?” Luo Qianyun froze for a moment. If he hadn’t mentioned it, she wouldn’t have noticed at all.

Considering how he’d carried her and even peeled shrimp for her earlier, there had been no signs of an injury.

Stepping closer, she inspected his shoulder and saw a large, bruised area near his back. She couldn’t tell what he had collided with.

“Lie down, and I’ll massage it for you,” she said, urging him to lie on the bed.

Having learned techniques for dispersing bruises before, Luo Qianyun quickly got to work.

Throughout the process, Lu Yunzheng remained so quiet that she thought he had fallen asleep.

On second thought, given how long he hadn’t rested, it wouldn’t be surprising if he had.

Thinking this, Luo Qianyun decided to give him a relaxing back massage after treating his bruise—a small reward for his hard work.

Kneeling beside him, she hesitated before positioning herself more conveniently. But just as she straddled his waist gently, thinking he was asleep, Lu Yunzheng suddenly rolled over.

The result? Luo Qianyun’s planned position on his lower back shifted to… somewhere else.

“Qianqian, you’re so enthusiastic…” Lu Yunzheng teased, looking at her as he felt a surge of warmth against his abs.

Flustered, Luo Qianyun’s face turned beet red. She instinctively tried to scoot back.

A muffled groan escaped Lu Yunzheng as he grabbed her thigh. “Don’t move.”

“I was just trying to massage your back! How was I supposed to know you’d roll over suddenly?” Luo Qianyun protested, feeling wronged.

“It’s my fault,” he conceded with a smile. “But I thought maybe you wanted to sit on my abs for a while.”

“Are you going to sleep or not?!” Luo Qianyun snapped, feigning anger.

“Sleeping later doesn’t seem like a bad idea,” he replied.

“That’s not happening! Sleep now!” she demanded, her voice firm.

As she shifted again, Lu Yunzheng’s breath hitched. “Qianqian, move forward a little.”

Realizing belatedly what she had bumped into, Luo Qianyun quickly slid forward but then realized she should get off him entirely.

Just as she tried to leave, Lu Yunzheng grabbed her legs, holding her in place. She ended up back where she started—straddling his abs.

Feeling the heat beneath her, Luo Qianyun’s face burned. “Can’t you just go to sleep properly?”

“I can’t,” Lu Yunzheng said, flipping her beneath him.

“Lu Yunzheng, you should sleep!” Luo Qianyun said urgently.

“I don’t want to sleep. I want you,” he replied before silencing her protests with a kiss.

Though Luo Qianyun initially resisted his charms, she quickly surrendered.

Later, exhausted from their intimacy, Lu Yunzheng fell asleep, holding her tightly.

The next morning, as Luo Qianyun stirred in his embrace, she looked up to find him already awake.

“Not sleeping a bit longer?” she asked.

Lu Yunzheng kissed her forehead. “I need to return to the military district.”

“Can I come with you?” she asked.

“Sure. I’ll show you around,” he said softly.

That dispelled any lingering sleepiness. After taking turns showering and dressing, they left the hotel together.

Her teacher didn’t know Lu Yunzheng had been at the hotel and had already returned to City A, leaving Luo Qianyun a message before leaving.

“I’ll take you to breakfast,” Lu Yunzheng said, holding her hand in one and her suitcase in the other.

The striking pair turned heads as they walked out together.
