Chapter 95: How About We Don’t Punish Them?
“Little Sister-in-law, please say something for us!”
“Yeah, Sister-in-law, you’re the best!”
…
A group of men pleaded with her noisily, making Luo Qianyun feel a bit embarrassed.
Luo Qianyun turned her pleading, dewy eyes toward Lu Yunzheng. “How about we don’t punish them?”
Seeing her nervous expression, Lu Yunzheng’s lips curled slightly. “As you wish.”
“Oh~~!” The men cheered in unison, their voices loud enough to make Luo Qianyun’s face flush even more.
Noticing her shy and adorable demeanor, Lu Yunzheng pulled her into his arms, shielding her from everyone’s gaze. “All of you, get back to training. If I hear another word, there’ll be extra drills.”
“Yes, sir!” The men replied in unison, their voices booming and filled with energy, secretly earning Luo Qianyun’s admiration.
And then, poor Luo Qianyun’s suitcase became the center of attention as the men chased and grabbed it playfully.
Finally free from their stares, Luo Qianyun and Lu Yunzheng walked hand in hand through the military camp.
Everything here felt unfamiliar to Luo Qianyun.
“We’ll stop by my dorm first, then I’ll take you to the cafeteria for a meal,” Lu Yunzheng said softly.
“Okay.” Luo Qianyun nodded gently. “I’ll follow your lead.”
Lu Yunzheng’s single dormitory wasn’t unfamiliar to her, as she had seen it in video calls not long ago.
Now stepping inside, Luo Qianyun curiously looked around. She couldn’t help but admire the tidiness—military men were truly meticulous when it came to keeping their spaces organized.
She had to admit, she couldn’t compare to this level of neatness.
Even back home, apart from her own room, the shared living areas were always cleaned and organized by Lu Yunzheng.
Lu Yunzheng pushed her suitcase into the room. Although Luo Qianyun was only staying for two days, he carefully hung her clothes in the wardrobe.
Watching him busy himself with her things, Luo Qianyun wandered around the room. In the bathroom, she noticed a set of toothbrushes, cups, and towels prepared for her.
They matched his own perfectly, like couple’s items. She hadn’t expected Lu Yunzheng to be so subtly romantic.
Before long, Lu Yunzheng finished organizing her luggage, walked up behind her, and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into his embrace. “Let’s go eat first.”
“Okay~” Luo Qianyun replied sweetly.
Seeing her cheerful smile, Lu Yunzheng couldn’t resist kissing her again and again, as if he could never get enough.
“I thought we were going to eat. I’m starving,” Luo Qianyun protested, not wanting to be overwhelmed by his affection right after arriving. She’d rather fill her stomach first.
Hugging her tightly, Lu Yunzheng calmed himself. “Sit on the couch for a bit. I’ll take a quick shower.”
“You…” Luo Qianyun’s gaze subtly shifted downward, and she suppressed a smile. “Then hurry up.”
“Tonight, I’ll deal with you.” Lu Yunzheng lowered his head and playfully nibbled on her earlobe before turning to head into the bathroom.
Feeling a twinge of pain in her ear, Luo Qianyun covered it with her hand. “Lu Yunzheng, are you a dog?”
“No, a wolf. A hungry one,” he replied, shutting the bathroom door behind him.
“Hungry, huh?” Luo Qianyun muttered to herself, her mind wandering back to last night.
She flushed. He probably wasn’t satisfied last time.
“Ugh, it’s so hot.” Luo Qianyun moved under the air conditioning to cool her blushing face.
At the cafeteria, Luo Qianyun became the center of attention the moment she walked in with Lu Yunzheng.
After all, in a place like the military camp, where men outnumber women by a huge margin—there were basically no women—a rare beauty like her drew all eyes.
Not to mention, Luo Qianyun was none other than Lu Yunzheng’s newlywed wife.
Lu Yunzheng wasn’t just any soldier; he had represented China in the international special forces competition, dominating the field and winning first place. He was the undisputed king of special forces.
And his unit? Always ranked first among all the special operations groups.
For someone as cold and untouchable as him to have a wife like Luo Qianyun? It was hard for anyone not to be curious.
Even the cook handing out food gave Lu Yunzheng a thumbs-up after seeing Luo Qianyun.
At the table, Luo Qianyun initially worried the food might not be good, but her first bite proved otherwise.
Despite the plain appearance of the dishes, the taste was unexpectedly satisfying.
“Is it to your liking?” Lu Yunzheng asked softly.
Luo Qianyun nodded. “It’s delicious, much better than I expected.”
“And how bad were you expecting it to be?” Lu Yunzheng chuckled.
“Well, I didn’t think it’d be terrible, but I assumed it would just be average,” she laughed.
Not one to waste food, Luo Qianyun gave the items she didn’t like to Lu Yunzheng, who happily finished them. In turn, he placed her favorite dishes from his plate onto hers.
“Eat more,” he urged.
Once they had finished eating, Lu Yunzheng brought her a bowl of cold dessert, perfect for the hot weather.
“After we finish, I’ll take you back to rest. In the evening, I’ll show you around,” he said.
“Where are you going?” she asked curiously.
“I need to supervise training,” Lu Yunzheng replied.
Though curious about the training, Luo Qianyun decided to follow his plan and obediently stay in the dorm.
While the soldiers trained tirelessly outside, Luo Qianyun enjoyed a nap in the air-conditioned room.
Waking up, she lay lazily on the bed, surrounded by Lu Yunzheng’s scent, giving her a feeling of being wrapped in his presence.
When Lu Yunzheng came back to pick her up, she was lying on the bed, legs playfully swinging, video chatting with her friend Song Yunjing.
Their conversation quickly devolved into risqué banter, each trying to outdo the other with outrageous jokes.
At some point, the topic shifted to Mo Li.
“How about it? Has Mo Li contacted you?” Luo Qianyun asked.
“Don’t mention him. Just consider him dead,” Song Yunjing sighed.
“Come on, you’re not giving up that easily. I know you too well,” Luo Qianyun teased.
After a pause, Song Yunjing asked, “Did you see him with another woman that night?”
“Yes,” Luo Qianyun confirmed.
“Well, that woman came to find me,” Song Yunjing said, sounding frustrated.
“And in what capacity? Unless she’s his girlfriend, no one else matters,” Luo Qianyun said.
“What if she’s his fiancée?”
“Are you serious?” Luo Qianyun frowned. “But didn’t Mo Li cut ties with his family? Wouldn’t that make the engagement invalid?”
She couldn’t forget that the woman didn’t even seem to know Mo Li had changed his name after leaving his family.
So even if she was a fiancée, it might not be a solid claim.
