Limited Marriage Contract
Limited Marriage Contract Chapter 3.2

Wen Yi realized that talking to this person required patience. He really could hold back.

She had never been very patient, and if this were in the past, she would have hung up immediately. But when she first started working, she was the one being hung up on. Patience is something that comes with practice, and right now, the person on the other end of the line was her current client, so she had to stay calm.

“Where are you? I want to talk to you in person.”

Wen Yi smiled, “I’m in Suzhou. Are you coming?”

There was another silence, and then he said, “It’s seven o’clock now. I’ll be there by nine. Will that disrupt your rest?”

Wen Yi was surprised, “Are you really coming?”

“Yes, send me the address.”

The call ended, and Wen Yi was stunned. She didn’t expect him to come just like that.

After sending the address, Wen Yi waited with a mix of anticipation and doubt, constantly checking her phone and the door, feeling a bit like she was back in the days when she waited anxiously outside the doctor’s office for their decision. She felt a bit uneasy.

Waiting became tiresome, so she decided to remove her makeup and take a shower. Just as she finished, the doorbell rang. She opened the door to see the man standing outside, looking travel-weary but still impeccably dressed and clean. His expression was calm, showing no signs of rush or impatience.

Wen Yi stepped aside to let him in.

The room wasn’t large. Qin Nanshan stopped by the small coffee table next to the TV, where a bowl of cold noodles sat. He turned to ask, “You haven’t eaten?”

Wen Yi didn’t respond to this. “If you have something to say, say it quickly.”

“Eat something first.”

“I’m not hungry.”

He looked somewhat helpless. “I just got off work and rushed over. I’m hungry.”

Wen Yi muttered under her breath, “What a hassle.”

Qin Nanshan opened a food delivery app and considerately asked, “Any dietary restrictions?”

“None.”

After ordering, they had to wait for the food. The atmosphere suddenly became awkward. Wen Yi, feeling like the host, politely invited him to sit.

He didn’t sit down but stood straight by the TV, looking at her with a direct gaze that made Wen Yi avert her eyes. Her gaze fell on the dusty bedside lamp, its warm yellow light creating a soothing atmosphere.

In the silence, his clear voice broke through, “Wen Yi, I agree to get married.”

“But we haven’t seen each other in a long time, and we don’t know each other well. There are some things you should be clear about before we get married.”

He spoke logically and clearly, as if he had rehearsed it in his mind. “My parents are retired and live at home. They have a good pension and are in good health, so they don’t need me to take care of them. I also have a younger sister who just graduated this year.”

“I spent the past two days organizing my assets. I currently live in a small two-bedroom apartment near the school, which belongs to my parents. Additionally, I have a four-bedroom apartment in the city center under my name, with no mortgage.”

“I have one car for transportation, and my monthly salary is over twenty thousand yuan. I also have a housing allowance that will be paid after the formalities are completed. Besides, I have some investments that pay dividends every six months, enough to cover daily living expenses.”

Wen Yi thought to herself that he didn’t need to be so detailed.

“You don’t need to worry about the child’s future education. From kindergarten to high school, everything is guaranteed. However, raising a child nowadays is expensive. I estimate that from pregnancy to birth, including formula, hiring a nanny, and future school fees, extracurricular activities, and interest classes, it will cost about twelve thousand yuan per month on average.”

Wen Yi couldn’t help but interrupt, “Isn’t it too early to talk about this now…”

Qin Nanshan remained calm. “There will be many unexpected situations in the future. I just want to let you know my situation in advance. Currently, raising a child is not a big problem, but…”

He paused before continuing, “But my job has a low ceiling, and I probably won’t become rich in this lifetime.”

Wen Yi burst into laughter upon hearing the last sentence.

The man’s lips also curved into a slight smile, and his previously straight posture relaxed a bit as he leaned against the TV stand.

“As for emotional issues, I am single and have never been married. I had a girlfriend a long time ago, but we no longer keep in touch. Most of the people I interact with are students and married colleagues, so there is no possibility of infidelity. You can rest assured about this.”

Wen Yi finally turned to look at him. Today, he wasn’t wearing a tie, which made him look a bit more relaxed, but he still gave off a serious and dignified impression, especially in his eyes.

She wasn’t young anymore and had a local household registration. She was beautiful, and her friends and colleagues in the medical field often tried to introduce her to potential partners. There were managers and deputy managers of listed companies who worked hard and earned millions a year; there were wealthy second-generation heirs who could provide a comfortable life; and there were young men who started from scratch and had a bright future.

People like him were rare. In the eyes of matchmakers, a salesperson like her wouldn’t be a good match for these cultured people. Teachers should be with teachers, and standing by his side should be an intellectual and elegant female doctor.

Wen Yi smiled self-deprecatingly, thinking it was a pity for him.

She reciprocated, “Is there anything you want to know about me?”

Qin Nanshan shook his head. “No, if you accept my situation, we can get married.”

Wen Yi didn’t understand. “Why? Aren’t you afraid I’ll trick you?”

“No.”

“Aren’t you afraid the child isn’t yours?” No man wouldn’t care about this.

He paused for a moment before looking at her. “I believe there is still basic trust between people.”

“But we haven’t seen each other in almost ten years.”

He simply said, “Wen Yi, I trust you.”

His resolute tone, combined with his serious and dignified expression, made Wen Yi stare in disbelief for a moment before pursing her lips. “I never realized you were so good with words.”

Both times she met him, he spoke at length, not giving her a chance to interject.

Qin Nanshan’s gaze deepened, and then he said, “I should still be considered a normal person.”

Wen Yi’s smile faded.

He waited for a moment before asking softly, “What do you think?”

Clearly, it was she who had initially asked him about marriage, but now he had taken control of the situation, leaving her confused.

She shifted slightly, the sound of the bedsheet rustling being the only sound in the room.

The atmosphere was tense, as if giving an answer would decide her life.

Fortunately, the delivery person arrived just in time, giving Wen Yi some time to think.

They had ordered two dishes and a soup, all neatly packaged. Qin Nanshan took them out and arranged them, opening the lid of her portion of rice. “Come and eat something.”

Wen Yi was indeed hungry and sat down.

Qin Nanshan brought over a small movable sofa and sat across from her.

This was the first time Wen Yi had eaten with him. She took a few bites and looked up to see the man’s handsome face illuminated by the warm light in the room. He chewed slowly and elegantly, silently adhering to the principle of not speaking while eating.

He talked about the next steps, “If you agree, when we get back, we can find a time to meet your mother first?”

But the next second, Wen Yi covered her mouth, “Yue……”!
