Zheng Xunqian clearly also bumped into his nose.
Jing Tian wanted to imitate Zheng Xunqian’s tone of complaint from before, he opened his mouth, but ended up just silly smiling.
Zheng Xunqian’s eyes were still half-closed, staring at him at a very close distance, and his lips also slightly curved upwards.
They stared at each other for a moment like this. Jing Tian stopped smiling, unconsciously lightly pursing his lips and swallowing saliva.
Now, they had each other’s consent. Whoever moved forward a bit more, it would be reasonable.
But Zheng Xunqian just looked at him quietly.
Zheng Xunqian looked like he hadn’t fully woken up, with laziness evident in the corners of his eyes and eyebrows. He blinked from time to time, as if he could yawn at any moment and fall asleep.
Jing Tian carefully observed his features with his eyes, feeling more and more inclined to get closer.
Was that brief touch just now considered the first kiss between them while both were sober, according to his memory?
If he took a bit more initiative now, would there be a second time?
Jing Tian’s heart pounded, and his face reddened.
They were so close; could Zheng Xunqian hear his heart beating?
Zheng Xunqian’s hand moved slowly down from his neck to his waist again.
Jing Tian’s shirt had lifted slightly from the earlier movement, revealing a bit of skin. Zheng Xunqian’s fingers stopped there, gently circling, as if appreciating the texture of his skin.
Jing Tian’s body trembled slightly.
That seemed to be where his tattoo was.
“Why aren’t you sleeping?” Zheng Xunqian asked him.
Jing Tian thought for a moment and also asked, “Why aren’t you sleeping?”
“You said goodnight,” Jing Tian said, “Go to sleep.”
But Zheng Xunqian didn’t listen. “It’s morning now.”
“You’re tired,” Jing Tian coaxed him softly, “Close your eyes.”
After saying that, seeing no response from him, he reached under the blanket and tentatively grabbed Zheng Xunqian’s clothes corner, gently shaking it. “Sleep.”
Zheng Xunqian looked at him quietly for three seconds, smiled at him, and closed his eyes.
Jing Tian took a shallow breath and closed his eyes, leaning in.
When their noses touched, Jing Tian heard Zheng Xunqian’s faint laughter, accompanied by his warm breath.
Zheng Xunqian wasn’t just waiting quietly; he took the initiative to kiss Jing Tian’s approaching lips.
Jing Tian, feeling a bit dazed, thought that the previous kiss was too informal, but this one could be considered their first kiss while both were awake and sober.
Different from the brief touch just now, and also different from the passionate intensity of last night.
It was gentle, lingering, comfortable, and relaxing. It made one feel happy and want to continue forever. It could be fully described as sweet.
It was hot under the covers.
There were sounds of saliva exchanging between their lips.
They were so close.
Jing Tian clearly felt some instinctive reactions from his body.
But he didn’t feel too urgent or restless.
Perhaps because everything was too comfortable. The long, almost uninterrupted kiss made him feel extremely satisfied, and then a bit tired, making him lazy all over.
He secretly opened his eyes and found Zheng Xunqian had been squinting at him all along.
They smiled at each other and then laughed together.
“…I’m a bit nervous,” Zheng Xunqian said to him.
Jing Tian thought, Me too.
Zheng Xunqian continued, “After all, if you vomit now, I can’t escape.”
“…”
Jing Tian, whose vision was hazy, widened his eyes.
“That image is too scary,” Zheng Xunqian said, “I still have lingering fears.”
Jing Tian felt ashamed and then a little annoyed, so he leaned over and bit Zheng Xunqian’s lip.
Zheng Xunqian took a breath of cold air, then gave Jing Tian a gentle kiss as a response.
Thus, Jing Tian’s embarrassment was quickly forgotten, dissipated without a trace.
….
Jing Tian woke up hungry.
When he opened his eyes, his body was tightly pressed against Zheng Xunqian’s.
This made him momentarily dazed.
After coming to his senses, he was startled and quickly looked down to confirm that their clothes were intact before he breathed a sigh of relief.
After being stunned for a while, he finally fully awakened and remembered what had happened.
Blushing, he slowly opened his eyes while still embracing Zheng Xunqian.
Zheng Xunqian was awakened by his sudden movements.
At this moment, Zheng Xunqian was quite different from usual. Jing Tian couldn’t help but smile as he looked at his furrowed brows and tightly pursed lips from such a close distance.
Jing Tian had seen Zheng Xunqian’s just-awakened appearance before, but he had been too flustered at that time to appreciate it properly.
Zheng Xunqian still had a dazed look, lacking his usual composure, appearing somewhat foolish.
Jing Tian wanted to take a picture of him. As he fumbled for his phone, Zheng Xunqian yawned, rubbed his face, and fully woke up.
“What time is it now?” he asked Jing Tian.
Feeling a bit regretful, Jing Tian glanced at his phone and replied, “It’s three fifteen.”
They had slept for about five hours.
“It’s so late,” Zheng Xunqian said, wiping his face with his hand, “The doctor said you must have three meals on time from now on. What do you want to eat? I’ll go buy it.”
As if there were choices available.
Jing Tian was about to speak when the dormitory door was opened.
“How’s it going? Feeling better?” Yang Yue’s voice came from the doorway.
Jing Tian immediately tensed up.
Yang Yue took a few steps into the room, probably seeing the messy bed, and immediately became quiet and cautious, no longer asking questions.
All the beds in the dormitory at A University were upper bunks, with desks below. As Yang Yue wasn’t tall, from his perspective, he could only roughly tell that someone was in bed but couldn’t observe the specific situation. To him, since Jing Tian was in bed and not responding, it undoubtedly meant he was asleep.
He couldn’t possibly have imagined that there was still a guest lying in Jing Tian’s bed at the moment.
Jing Tian stiffened all over, exchanging embarrassed glances with Zheng Xunqian.
What should they do? Jing Tian blinked frantically at Zheng Xunqian.
They hadn’t done anything too scandalous, but at the moment, there was a sense of unexplainable awkwardness.
Zheng Xunqian looked at him, rolled his eyes, and pursed his lips, as if trying to express something. Unfortunately, Jing Tian couldn’t decipher it at all.
They simply didn’t have that telepathic connection and could only make random facial expressions at each other, not understanding each other’s intentions.
Soon, Zheng Xunqian burst into laughter. His body trembled slightly, causing the poor quality wooden bunk bed to emit a very faint sound.
Feeling guilty, Jing Tian forcefully grabbed his clothes under the covers and widened his eyes, staring at him.
Zheng Xunqian squinted his eyes, leaned closer to him, and kissed the tip of his nose.
Just as Jing Tian was slightly recoiling from this, Zheng Xunqian casually sat up and stretched, raising his arm.
“You’re awake. Let’s have lunch—” Yang Yue’s voice abruptly stopped.
Zheng Xunqian acted naturally, putting down his arm, and greeted him, “Hey.”
The air fell into complete silence.
Jing Tian felt agonized, raising both hands to cover his face.
After a while, Yang Yue’s voice sounded again, “Why are you here? Where’s Jing Tian?”
Jing Tian was about to explode, subconsciously wanting to shrink into himself, but was mercilessly exposed by Zheng Xunqian.
“Here,” Zheng Xunqian pointed with his hand, “Next to me.”
The air fell into silence once again.
Wrapped in the blanket, Jing Tian didn’t know whether to get up and greet Yang Yue or just say “hey” while sweating profusely.
He didn’t know what expression Yang Yue had on his face at the moment.
Only Zheng Xunqian remained calm and composed. He lifted the blanket, casually got out of bed, and said, “You’ve come back just in time. I’ll go buy some food for him. Can you take care of him?”
Yang Yue still didn’t speak.
It wasn’t until the sound of the door opening and closing in succession that Zheng Xunqian left the dormitory that Yang Yue walked to Jing Tian’s bed and patted it hard twice.
“Don’t pretend to sleep, you’re definitely awake!” he shouted.
Jing Tian pulled back the blanket, nervously looking at him.
Yang Yue’s expression was indescribable.
“We just slept!” Jing Tian hurriedly explained.
As soon as the words fell, Yang Yue’s expression became even more strange.
Jing Tian quickly realized that there was some ambiguity in his words, and he hastily patched it up, “It’s just normal sleep! Close your eyes and sleep! Snore-snore sleep!”
While saying this loudly, he also felt a bit guilty.
They had just been tightly embraced, exchanging countless disgustingly sweet kisses before falling asleep.
It didn’t seem so innocent anymore.
Yang Yue tilted his chin up, forcibly creating an air of superiority. “You tell me, is this appropriate?”
Jing Tian dared not utter a word.
“… Forget it,” Yang Yue quickly shook his head. “Since you’re not feeling well, I won’t argue with you for now.”
On the way back to school in the morning, Jing Tian had exchanged messages with Yang Yue, informing him of the general situation. Yang Yue knew that he had stayed up all night due to acute gastritis.
“I’m sorry,” Jing Tian felt ashamed. “Please don’t be angry. It’s my fault. I should have insisted on him going back.”
Quickly admitting fault and apologizing has its benefits; it makes people reluctant to continue arguing.
Yang Yue sighed. “He insisted on staying?”
“He didn’t sleep all night and was worried about leaving me alone,” Jing Tian cautiously observed his expression. “It wouldn’t be appropriate to sleep in your bed, right?”
At first listen, this reason seemed reasonable enough.
Yang Yue clicked his tongue and said, “Well, you should have let me know in advance so I could prepare myself mentally. When I came in and saw this scene, what do you think I would think?”
“Oh…” Jing Tian nodded obediently.
“Feeling better?” Yang Yue asked.
Jing Tian hurriedly replied, “Much better, I’m starting to feel hungry!”
Twenty minutes later, Zheng Xunqian finally reappeared, bringing some things that Jing Tian had absolutely no appetite for at first glance.
White rice porridge, dried radish, clear soup with little seasoning, nothing substantial. The only small box of milk turned out to be skimmed milk. Jing Tian liked milk, but had no affection for skimmed milk, finding it bland and tasteless, like mouthwash.
Jing Tian sighed at the porridge with a grimace.
Zheng Xunqian smiled at him and then took out a paper bag from his pocket, handing it to Yang Yue, who was peeking at the desk.
A tempting aroma filled the air immediately. Jing Tian lifted his head, sniffed, and started salivating.
“The canteen just put out a pot of barbecue pastries. I brought you some,” Zheng Xunqian said.
Yang Yue’s eyes lit up as he took it.
Opening the packaging, the aroma in the air became even stronger.
“Don’t look,” Zheng Xunqian reached out and flicked Jing Tian’s forehead, “You can’t eat such greasy food right now.”
“… ” Jing Tian pursed his lips.
“Drink the porridge while it’s hot. Your stomach can’t handle cold food right now,” Zheng Xunqian urged him, “After eating, you still need to take medicine. It’s already late.”
After saying that, he turned to Yang Yue, who was eating the barbecue pastries. “Can you help keep an eye on him more often?”
