For him, the current Yu family was nothing but a burden. Holding onto it was nauseating, yet letting it go also felt somewhat regrettable. “If you want it, just take it.”
Su Yu shrugged, showing no interest at all. “Don’t like it, don’t want it.”
These simple six words left Yu Bailin somewhat amused and exasperated.
“You don’t want anything good. What kind of child are you?” The influence in Su Yu’s hands, together with the possession of the Yu family, would ultimately be substantial. After all, he had separated from the Su family and now lived independently.
“Grandpa, the Yu family is not the same as it used to be. If I really take it back, it might bring trouble in the future. I won’t do something that’s not worth the effort.” Su Yu wasn’t so foolish. He knew that the Yu family was a pit, and he wasn’t eager to jump into it.
Yu Bailin restrained his laughter, feeling an indescribable taste in his heart. This was probably the first time the Yu family had been so thoroughly rejected.
“It seems that the Yu family is truly not liked by anyone,” Yu Bailin sighed lightly, expressing some melancholy.
“Grandpa, the current Yu family and the past are two extremes. Since Yu Baiya became the family head, the Yu family has been on a downhill slope, and it’s sliding down rapidly. Unfortunately, the people of the Yu family haven’t noticed.” Many who had cooperated with the Yu family for years, if not for Yu Bailin’s face, wouldn’t have continued the association until now. Even so, many business partners have terminated all cooperation with the Yu family. Not for any other reason, just because they dislike Yu Baiya’s methods.
“It seems that Yu Baiya has indeed done a lot in these years.” Yu Bailin understood the reasoning behind it.
Su Yu saying such things meant that what Yu Baiya had done was truly excessive.
“Not too many things, just offended quite a few people,” Su Yu said with a smile.
Yu Bailin shook his head helplessly. Was there any difference in the middle of this?
“This time, Yu Baiya has lost face. Do you think the elders of the Yu family will come?” While Yu Bailin was talking with Su Yu, Wang Jinhe suddenly spoke up.
All eyes turned to Wang Jinhe, especially Yu Bailin.
Thinking about the personalities of those so-called elders, Yu Bailin frowned slightly, a hint of impatience in his eyes. “Jinhe’s concern is not unreasonable. They might really come.”
“Gu family has left, and now Gu Sheng will surely bother the Yu family again. He really doesn’t change his thieving ways. But they should be leaving soon, right?” Wang Jinhe said with interest, chin resting on her hand.
Su Yu reached out and ruffled Wang Jinhe’s hair, smiling. “Since you’ve spoken, we naturally have to send them away directly.”
Wang Jinhe nodded in satisfaction. “That’s about right.”
“Don’t always bully Xiao Yu, Jinhe.” Yu Bailin glared at Wang Jinhe. This girl always took advantage of Xiao Yu being good to her, always bullying him.
Wang Jinhe looked unhappy as she stared at Yu Bailin. “Grandpa, when did I bully him? Have I bullied you Su Yu?”
“No,” Su Yu shook his head.
Not to mention not bullying, even if she did, he wouldn’t dare say anything. What if Jinhe got angry?
“Grandpa, Su Yu said I didn’t bully him. Don’t make baseless accusations.” Yu Bailin raised an eyebrow, looking at Su Yu, as if questioning why Su Yu was so spineless.
“Grandpa, don’t look at me. Let’s not talk about us,” Su Yu said shamelessly, looking away.
Yu Bailin was also very good to his wife, often giving in to her just like he did with Su Yu.
Yu Qingfeng laughed uncontrollably on the side, and when Yu Bailin looked at his son, who couldn’t stop laughing, his eyes narrowed. “Is it so amusing, Qingfeng?”
Yu Qingfeng quickly shook his head, “Not amusing at all.”
The three of them, father and sons, were all, in fact, henpecked husbands. In the past, their eldest brother listened to everything his wife said. Now, finding a son-in-law was just as amusing.
Su Yu leaned over to Wang Jinhe, whispering something in her ear. Wang Jinhe chuckled, making Su Yu’s smile even more evident.
As the family watched the two of them being intimate, they all expressed their blessings.
“I had originally promised Jinhe that we’d take the two kids out after the rice was transplanted. It seems like we can’t do that now,” Su Yu frowned.
Now, both the Yu family and the Gu family were eyeing them. If they left, it would only bring trouble when those people arrived.
“If you want to go, then go. We’re here at home, and everything’s fine,” Su Xi, knowing what her grandson intended to do, spoke up immediately.
Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe, ” Xiao He, what’s your opinion?”
“Let’s postpone it a bit, shall we? Let’s go in the second half of the year. In the first half, let your subordinates work hard. It’s crucial to keep an eye on this year’s rice in the first season. Besides, there’s also the Gu family and the Yu family.” Even with Su Xi and the others at home, they would still worry when they were away.
Su Yu nodded, “Okay, then we’ll bring them some watermelons as a treat when we go.”
By that time, the watermelons should be ready to eat.
“Sure.” A truckload of watermelons was something Wang Jinhe could afford.
Yu Bailin and the others heard their conversation and couldn’t help but smile. They weren’t really that fragile, and they didn’t need the two kids to stay and guard.
“You don’t have to stay here,” Yu Qingfeng said helplessly.
“We’re not staying here. We just think it’s better not to go to the Gu family at this time,” Wang Jinhe innocently said.
They were thinking about their own safety; that’s why they weren’t worried.
“Yeah, it’s not that you’re worried about us; you’re worried about your own safety,” Yu Qingfeng echoed insincerely.
Wang Jinhe suddenly had nothing to say. Sometimes, her dad’s words were truly exasperating.
After returning to his residence, Yu Baiya summoned his own people and instructed them to inform the elders of everything that had happened at Yu Bailin’s house.
Yu Bailin’s granddaughter was now the Imperial Prince’s Wife, and those elders would certainly not miss this opportunity.
Once they learned that someone in their family was involved with the prince, they would undoubtedly come directly.
Yu Baiya truly did not want Yu Bailin and the others to go back, but he also couldn’t trust leaving them outside.
If something happened under such close surveillance, especially now, he could only feel completely at ease if he kept them under close watch.
Since he couldn’t bring them back himself, he would let the elders come and do the job. The stewards of the Yu family were now under his control, so even if Yu Bailin and his son returned, what could they do?
While Yu Baiya was sending messages back to the Yu family about the elders’ impending visit, Wang Jinhe’s family was busy transplanting rice seedlings and had no time to pay attention to these matters.
The first to transplant rice seedlings was in homestead.
Wang Jinhe had the seedlings pulled up and took her people to the prepared paddy fields to teach them how to transplant.
Seeing Wang Jinhe planting at such a distance, everyone felt a bit concerned. Someone asked, “Is the young madam really not afraid of the plants getting sick? And are you sure there’s no problem planting them too scarce?”
This wasn’t just their concern; this was the place they were going to cultivate. If the harvest wasn’t good in the future, how would they explain it?
