Upon hearing this, Wang Jinhe felt a bit relieved. She quickly got out of bed, washed up, and instructed Su Yu, “Hurry up and wake Xiao Bao.”
“Xiao Bao got up half an hour ago.” Su Yu thought that Wang Jinhe was too tired yesterday, so he didn’t wake her up earlier.
Wang Jinhe gave Su Yu a disapproving look. It turned out she was the one who woke up the latest. How surprising.
Without having breakfast, the three of them headed to the Su family. The Su family was bustling with activity, and everyone who could come back had already arrived.
Some people who hadn’t seen Wang Jinhe and Xiao Bao congratulated Su Yu upon seeing them.
“Congratulations, Su Yu! Not only did your wife give birth to a son, but he also looks so much like you.”
Su Yu held Xiao Bao in one hand and wrapped his other arm around Wang Jinhe’s shoulder. “Of course, but this is something you can only envy. You can take a look, but as for anything else, don’t even think about it.”
“Speaking as if no one else has a son.”
“You don’t even have a wife,” Su Yu said bluntly, not mincing words at all. The words he uttered made the people across from him exchange glances, and they were tempted to lay hands on Su Yu.
Su Yu smiled as he looked at them, engaging in small talk before updating the family tree.
“By the way, Su Yu, we’ve already taken care of the matter you mentioned before. The results are really impressive, and there’s a good chance we’ll double our profits this year.”
“That’s good. Since you’ve found a way to operate effectively, I won’t say much. As for what to do next, it’s up to you. I rarely come back, and I can’t offer you any advice. If you have any indecisive matters later on, discuss and decide among yourselves.” Su Yu addressed them.
They were all individuals who didn’t like studying but were keen on business. After understanding their thoughts, Su Yu provided them with guidance and financial support. The rest was left unattended, and it seems they have done quite well in the past couple of years.
One of them scratched his head awkwardly and said, “Compared to you, we are still far behind.”
“I started dealing with these things at the age of nine and began doing business on my own at ten. It would be strange if you could catch up with me,” Su Yu said unapologetically.
Did these people think he did business effortlessly since childhood?
“That’s true. We don’t dare to compare ourselves to such a freak like you,” the person remarked, finding him quite terrifying.
Things seemed to become remarkably simple when it is him handling it. This aspect of him left them somewhat incredulous.
“Young Master, it’s about time,” at this moment, Yuan Bao walked over from the side and quietly reminded.
“Go and bring Xiao Bao over.”
“Yes.”
After Yuan Bao left, it didn’t take long for him to return. He leaned in close to Su Yu’s ear and spoke in a hushed tone.
Su Yu clenched the cup in his hand so hard that it shattered.
“What’s wrong with Su Yu? Where’s Xiao Bao? It’s about time; why hasn’t Xiao Bao arrived yet?”
“I’ll go find Xiao Bao,” Su Yu said with a smile.
“Good, make sure Xiao Bao hurries over; time is running out.”
“Good, rest assured; I’ll handle this matter, don’t worry too much,” Su Yu assured.
Su Yu led Yuan Bao and the others away. When they reached an uninhabited area, Su Yu’s face darkened as he asked, “With so many people around Xiao Bao, how could he disappear?”
“According to the information from the secret guards, Young Master followed on his own accord,” Yuan Bao said with a headache. What exactly was this Young Master thinking?
Did he ever consider that they would be worried if he followed strangers?
Before Su Yu could say anything, he heard some rustling in the bushes nearby.
Turning to look, he saw Xiao Bao with a few leaves on his head, running out from the bushes with disheveled hair.
“Xiao Bao,” Su Yu said with a stern expression.
This time, what Xiao Bao did was a bit excessive.
Xiao Bao shrank his neck and cautiously looked at Su Yu. “Daddy, I know I was wrong.”
“Don’t let this happen again. Tell me why you followed that person.” Forgiving Xiao Bao didn’t mean Su Yu wouldn’t ask questions.
“I thought they were stupid. After all, I’m Daddy’s son, and with Daddy being so powerful, there should be someone protecting me. Even with that, they still wanted to kidnap me. So, I decided to follow them and see what they were up to. Turns out, they were just too lame. It wasn’t interesting, so I ran back,” Xiao Bao said with a disdainful expression.
Su Yu was infuriated. He had been extremely worried, and now Xiao Bao thought the whole thing was uninteresting?
“Xiao Bao…”
“Daddy, can you not tell Mom about this? I’m afraid she’ll worry if she knows,” Xiao Bao asked cautiously, reaching out to tug at Su Yu’s clothes.
Seeing Xiao Bao like this, Su Yu said with a touch of annoyance, “If your mommy knows, you can forget about going anywhere. Look at you, all dirty.”
Xiao Bao quickly patted his clothes, looking at Su Yu with a pleasing expression.
Su Yu found Xiao Bao’s deliberate attempt to please him a bit unsettling.
“Let’s go; it’s almost time.”
As father and son headed back, Wang Jinhe was getting ready to go look for them.
When she saw the two, especially the dirt-covered Xiao Bao, Wang Jinhe’s eyelid twitched. She looked at Xiao Bao and asked, “Xiao Bao, can you tell Mommy where you went to play?”
The state of dirtiness was completely uncharacteristic of Xiao Bao, who was known for his cleanliness.
Xiao Bao chuckled and said apologetically, “I saw a little white cat in the garden over there, so I went to catch it.”
In this matter, Xiao Bao didn’t deceive Wang Jinhe; he did indeed see a cute little white cat in the garden. Despite having many pets at home, Xiao Bao still loved these fluffy little creatures.
As Xiao Bao’s mother, Wang Jinhe was well aware of his preferences and didn’t think there was anything wrong with what he did. After all, Xiao Bao was only five years old, and curiosity and fondness for animals were only natural at his age.
Su Yu lowered his head, silently asking Xiao Bao if what he said was true.
Xiao Bao nodded heavily, confirming that the incident with the white cat was indeed true.
Seeing that Xiao Bao didn’t lie, Su Yu didn’t continue to press him.
“Daddy, can we keep the little cat?”
“We have four dogs, five intelligent chickens, three sheep—isn’t that enough? Oh, and there are two turtles, one big and one small.” With so many pets already, who spoiled him with the habit of wanting more?
Xiao Bao looked at Su Yu in confusion. “Daddy, do we really have so many pets at home? Are you sure you’re not mistaken?”
“Ask your mommy.”
“And a few messenger hawks from Lightning.” Wang Jinhe added quietly.
Since the appearance of Lightning and their messenger hawks in front of Xiao Bao, when they weren’t delivering messages, the hawks liked to rest on the trees in the yard or play with Xiao Bao.
Listening to both of them, Xiao Bao, somewhat dissatisfied, said, “But we don’t have a cat at home.”
“Okay, we’ll listen to you. Whatever you say, we’ll keep it. Is that alright?” Su Yu agreed.
