Lingquan Space: Fortunate Wife of a Farmer’s Family Chapter 423

Chapter 423: Justified

“Although I don’t want to dwell on the past, there are some things that, when I see familiar things, I can’t help but think about them. But now, I rarely think about the past,” Wang Jinhe said. When she first arrived, she did have spare time to think about these things, but now, with time passing and more responsibilities, she found herself with less time to dwell on miscellaneous matters.

Su Yu led Wang Jinhe forward, reached out to ruffle her hair, and said softly, “You just  think too much. You’ve settled down in this place now, and your past has nothing to do with you. You just need to live your present life well. It’s enough for me to think about it.”

Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu helplessly. They were together every day now. Wasn’t that enough for him to think about her?

“Su Yu, I’ve noticed that you’ve become a bit domineering lately.”

“Only towards you,” he replied. If it were someone else, they wouldn’t receive the same treatment.

Wang Jinhe raised an eyebrow and asked with a half-smile, “Do I still need to thank you for that?”

“There’s no need for that.”

As they continued their conversation and walked a long way, Wang Jinhe didn’t want to go back when it was time to return, so Su Yu had to carry him back.

When they returned, a lot of land had been prepared for cultivation. Seeing their progress, Wang Jinhe couldn’t help but exclaim, “It seems that we should leave the professional work to the professionals.”

Wasn’t their progress a bit too fast?

“You’re better suited to overseeing everything here than doing the actual work.”

“You’re absolutely right,” Wang Jinhe said impatiently.

Seeing that there was nothing for her to do, Wang Jinhe took Su Yu home. After they returned, Wang Jinhe didn’t rest and went to the two hills behind the house to check on the fruit trees.

Seeing that she couldn’t sit still, Su Yu had no choice but to follow along.

“Aren’t all these fruit trees the same? Can you tell one flower from another?” Su Yu looked around and saw nothing special. She didn’t understand what was so interesting about them.

Wang Jinhe pointed to a flower bud on a branch. “Although I can’t tell one flower from another, I can see the flower buds.”

Su Yu leaned in to take a look and indeed, it was true.

“If all the fruit trees here bloom this year, it will be a beautiful sight from a distance. Jingyu will probably bring people over to enjoy it,” Su Yu said. It was a place that was naturally well-suited for scholars to come and enjoy themselves.

“That’s fine. It’s good that my brother finally has his own friends,” Wang Jinhe said with a smile.

“If we call Qin Lang over, he can spend more time with Su Shan. That would be a good thing too,” Wang Jinhe continued.

He had only said one sentence, but Wang Jinhe had said everything. He playfully tapped her head and said, “You just can’t sit still. You’re always worrying about something.”

“Let’s go back.”

As the two of them descended the mountain and returned home, Wang Jinhe went to the study to start writing about the flowering period of the fruit trees and what needed to be done next.

Once she got busy, she forgot about the time.

As they were preparing for the planting, when Su Long and his wife arrived, Wang Jinhe and the others were all busy.

“Did we come to the wrong place?” Li Yan asked, looking around with a puzzled expression. It didn’t seem like anyone lived in this place, and there was no one at home.

“Su Long, why are you here?” Gu Jiuning asked, looking surprised.

“Didn’t Xiao Yu write to me about Su Shan’s situation? I came to see how the young man she mentioned is doing,” Su Long explained with a smile.

Gu Jiuning nodded in understanding. “I see. You’ll have to wait a bit. Xiao Yu and the others are all at the homestead. They’ve been busy with planting seedlings recently and haven’t been home much.”

“That’s fine. We’ll rest for a bit,” after traveling for so many days, they were exhausted.

“Alright, Xiao Yu has prepared a room for you. It’s the same one as before. You can go straight there,” Gu Jiuning said.

“Okay.”

Su Long took Li Yan to Su Yu’s place, and Li Yan asked curiously, “Who is she?”

“She’s Xiao He’s mother, Gu Jiuning.”

Gu Jiuning? Li Yan knew this name. The renowned Gu Jiuning was in this small place and had a child.

“If they have nothing to do, why don’t they return to the capital?” Li Yan asked.

“What’s good about the capital? Besides, the Yu family is no longer what it used to be. Returning there wouldn’t lead to a good outcome. They would only end up being manipulated. It’s better for them to stay here, don’t you think?” Su Long asked his wife.

Li Yan considered this seriously. Indeed, the Yu family was no longer what it used to be, and it was right and inevitable for them to act this way.

“Everything the Yu family has was stolen from their family. Are they just letting it go?” Li Yan couldn’t help but ask.

“It depends on what Yu Qingfeng wants to do. But from the looks of it, he’s enjoying himself here and doesn’t want to go back,” Su Long said. He had a wife, children, and things to do. The place now looked like it was truly his.

Although Li Yan felt it was a pity, she didn’t say much and went to rest with Su Long.

In the evening, when Su Shan returned with Su Yu, she was surprised to see Su Long and Li Yan sitting in the hall. “Mom, Dad, why are you here?”

Su Long raised an eyebrow and teased his daughter, “Why, don’t you want to see us?”

“It’s not that. I just think you have a lot on your plate. Why would you come all the way here?” Su Shan said.

“We just wanted to see the person you’re interested in, so I can feel at ease,” Su Long said to his daughter.

Hearing her father’s words, Su Shan felt a bit nervous and embarrassed.

“He’s really a good person. You’ll definitely like him when you meet him,” She said to Su Long and Li Yan helplessly.

“Look at this child. I haven’t said anything, and she’s already protecting him. Being a father is really tough.”

Su Yu gave Su Long a disapproving look and said, “Uncle, you’re being too fake. You don’t deserve any sympathy.”

Su Shan couldn’t help but laugh quietly. Only her cousin would dare to speak to her father like that.

“Now that you’re here, why don’t we call the young man over for you to meet? If you think he’s suitable, we can arrange the engagement,” Su Xi suggested.

Susan was taken aback by her grandfather’s words. “Grandpa, isn’t it a bit too early? I’ve only known him for a short time.”

Li Yan reached out and ruffled her daughter’s hair, smiling indulgently. “You silly girl, after the engagement, he should invite you to play. That’s the proper way to do it.”
