However, the title of “Prince” was spoken in such a sarcastic tone.
“Young Master, or should I say Prince, you’re not usually so arrogant and aggressive, shouting and causing a scene at someone else’s doorstep. Do you really think you’re someone special?” Wangu said with a cold smile.
Wang Jinhe turned to look at Su Yu beside her, gesturing with her lips for him to pay attention to Wan Gu and not let him go too far.
Seeing the concern in Wang Jinhe’s eyes, Su Yu patted her shoulder reassuringly with a smile, understanding her worries. Then, he turned to Qiming and said, “Qiming, you can’t afford the consequences of laying a hand on my wife.”
“She’s just a woman. I can give you as many as you want,” Qiming didn’t think he had done anything wrong. She was just a plaything. Why did Su Yu attach so much importance to her and make a fuss about it?
“You weren’t like this before. You actually confronted me over a woman. Su Yu, I’ll give you one last chance. Don’t provoke my anger again, or you’ll regret it,” Qiming threatened Su Yu, even at this point.
Wan Gu couldn’t stand the threat to Su Yu. After Qiming finished speaking, he wanted to take action, but Su Yu stopped him.
“Young Master…”
“Wan Gu.” The indifferent voice didn’t reveal any emotions, but it made Wan Gu silently step back behind Wang Jinhe.
They wondered if their young master was angry.
Seeing Su Yu’s reaction, Qiming thought Su Yu had listened to him. He was about to continue speaking when Su Yu took action.
If it weren’t for the timely intervention of Qiming’s guards pushing Su Yu away, there would have been bloodshed on the spot.
Qiming turned to face the person who had drawn a soft sword and was now pointing it at him.
“Su Yu…” Qiming gritted his teeth as he looked at Su Yu. He hadn’t expected Su Yu to actually dare to take action. And when did Su Yu become so powerful? He had no idea.
“Don’t project your dirty thoughts onto me, Qiming. You’re not worthy,” Su Yu said, making another move. This time, Qiming was prepared and engaged with Su Yu.
The more they fought, the more unsettled Qiming became. He watched Su Yu’s fierce swordsmanship, and there was no flaw in his attacks, as if he were born with such skill.
This realization made Qiming’s face extremely ugly.
“Have you been to the Forget Sorrow City ?” Qiming asked Su Yu with a sinister tone, his tone more assertive than inquisitive.
Su Yu looked at Qiming coldly. “It seems you have been there too.”
No wonder this person’s strength had always been exceptional.
Suddenly, Qiming thought of something and looked at Su Yu with anger in his eyes. “You were the one who sent people to cause trouble at my mansion, weren’t you?”
If Su Yu had been to the Forget Sorrow City, everything would be explained. But how did he manage to get those lunatics to help him? If it was an accident, that would be one thing, but he fear that he could command the people of the Forget Sorrow City.
Wang Jinhe looked at him with some surprise. She hadn’t expected him to figure it out, which was somewhat unexpected.
He was able to deduce that Su Yu had been to the Forget Sorrow City just by observing his swordsmanship. This person was truly formidable.
“It seems they had a great time at your mansion,” Su Yu did not deny.
“Why did you do that?”
Hadn’t he treated Su Yu well? Did Su Yu want to cause trouble for him?
As if seeing through Qiming’s thoughts, Su Yu adjusted his clothes and calmly said, “You were indeed good to me before. But since you used Yang Shanshan and others to deal with me, and tried to take my life, we are simply enemies.”
“I never wanted your life. I just wanted you to obey, to come and help me. As long as you obey, they won’t harm you,” Qiming said, still not realizing his wrongdoing and sounding somewhat deranged.
Seeing Qiming like this, Su Yu was momentarily at a loss for words.
Wang Jinhe was thoroughly angry and whispered to Wan Gu in a voice only they could hear, “Is there a way to make him suffer the effects of the poison earlier?”
As Wan Gu was seething with anger, he heard Wang Jinhe’s voice and turned to look at her. Her expression was serious, and her eyes were filled with intense anger, as if she would erupt in anger at any moment.
Wan Gu couldn’t help but smile. Their young master had such a good wife.
He nodded and took out a type of spice, igniting it with a match.
Wang Jinhe, curious, sniffed the subtle fragrance. Was this enough? It didn’t seem any different.
It was just a common spice. Could it really trigger the poison in him?
As Wang Jinhe was pondering, Qiming suddenly clutched his chest in pain.
Seeing the spice in Wan Gu’s hand, Qiming had no doubts. “You poisoned me?”
Su Yu frowned with anger in his eyes. “Qiming, don’t make baseless accusations just because you can’t find the person who poisoned you. Medicine can be taken randomly, but words cannot be spoken carelessly.”
Su Yu’s anger seemed genuine, and Qiming furrowed his brow. Could he have been mistaken? Su Yu had always been straightforward.
If it wasn’t him, he definitely wouldn’t admit it. But how could this Wan Gu know what would trigger the poison in him? And why did he have it on him?
Wan Gu didn’t explain and simply watched as Qiming bent over in pain. This was the first time Wang Jinhe had seen someone suffering from the effects of poisoning.
It was a bit terrifying, but she didn’t regret it. Qiming’s earlier words had already angered her.
He could insult her, but he couldn’t insult Su Yu. Was her Su Yu someone Qiming could humiliate?
“This is the price you pay for insulting my husband, Qiming,” Wang Jinhe said to Qiming, each word deliberate.
Qiming looked up at Wang Jinhe. The fact that Wan Gu could trigger his poisoning was because of this woman he looked down upon. “You… are asking for death…”
Before he could finish, he felt as if his heart was being tightly squeezed, making it hard for him to breathe.
Wang Jinhe watched as Qiming broke out in a cold sweat. She smiled faintly. “Asking for death? Who’s the one asking for death now?”
Qiming’s guards, seeing him suffering from the effects of the poison, quickly brought out medication to suppress the poison.
Su Yu watched as the guards fed Qiming the medicine, but it had no effect at all.
The guard, looking at Qiming’s distress, said urgently, “It shouldn’t be ineffective. This doesn’t make sense.”
Wan Gu smiled wickedly. Could ordinary poisoning have the same effect as the poison he deliberately induced? This poison was completely different from ordinary poisoning.
“If anything happens to my lord, you will be held responsible. Are you trying to provoke a war between Qi Empire and Xuan Empire?”
“by colluding with Xie Chen to cause trouble in Xuan Empire? Even if it leads to war, it’s your doing. You can’t blame others,” Su Yu said coldly, looking at the guard.
However, the guard was right about one thing—Qiming couldn’t die just yet. There were still things he needed to do. He hadn’t figured out some matters in Qi Empire, so it wasn’t time for Qiming to die.
