“Indeed, the longer it’s aged, the more mellow and fragrant it becomes.” No wonder this wine sells for such a high price. It made him want to buy some to age himself.
After finishing their half-cup, everyone looked at Su Yu expectantly. Finally, it was Yin Fan who spoke up. “Su Yu, pour us another cup.”
“You’ll get drunk if you drink more,” Su Yu said helplessly.
He knew these guys wouldn’t be satisfied with just half a cup.
“If we get drunk, we’ll just sleep it off, no big deal.”
“First, let’s eat something before drinking more,” Wang Jinhe said at this point.
She could tell that Yin Fan and the others weren’t in the best mood and seemed to want to get drunk.
“Okay.”
After taking a bite of the food, Yin Fan and the others’ eyes lit up, and they began to compete with each other for the dishes. Thanks to their presence, the four children ate a little more.
Once they were full, Yin Fan and the others finally had the chance to speak. “Sister-in-law, the food is really delicious,” Yin Fan said.
Su Yu raised an eyebrow at Yin Fan. “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t call me brother?”
They would rather call him “Young Master” than “brother.” Was he now contradicting himself?
“I called her sister-in-law, not you,” Yin Fan retorted.
“Your sister-in-law is my wife,” Su Yu said, propping up his chin.
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu in surprise. “They call you ‘Young Master’ because of this?”
She was curious because these people seemed more like friends, so she was surprised that they ended up calling Su Yu “Young Master.”
“Yeah, they feel that the age gap between us isn’t that big, so calling me ‘brother’ would be embarrassing. They’d rather call me ‘Young Master.’ Don’t you think this is a bit embarrassing for me?” Su Yu explained.
Wang Jinhe wholeheartedly agreed and nodded, acknowledging that it was indeed quite embarrassing.
“I suddenly feel that calling you ‘brother’ is not bad at all, especially when there’s delicious food and wine,” Cai Ke nodded in agreement. “If we had known earlier that Sister-in-law is so good at making wine and cooking, we definitely wouldn’t have resisted.”
Su Yu put his hand to his forehead, feeling a bit reluctant to admit that he had met these guys. It was too embarrassing.
“Okay, after we finish eating, you can have a little more,” Su Yu said.
“This is a one-time exception,” Su Yu added, a bit grumpily.
Both of them were heavy drinkers who had come out of Forget Sorrow City. Fortunately, the other person hadn’t come, or his wine would have been in trouble.
“We bought fifty barrels of wine from Sister-in-law to take back to Boss Chen and the others,” Yin Fan said.
Su Yu paused for a moment, then looked at them. “If you bring your boss Chen here, I’ll deduct one barrel of wine from your monthly quota.”
“Boss Chen and the others won’t come over. After all, they still need to oversee things in Forget Sorrow City. But if there’s anything delicious here, we should send some back to them,” they said. Otherwise, if Boss Chen found out they were enjoying exclusive treats, they would be in big trouble.
“Feel free to do so. Since Boss Chen and the others have some hidden injuries, when you give them the wine, tell them to only have one cup a day and take good care of themselves,” Su Yu added.
“No problem,” Yin Fan replied.
After saying this, Su Yu poured a cup for each of them, giving Su Xi, Yang Zhenwei, and Yu Bailin only half a cup.
Looking at the half-filled cup in front of him, Su Xi was not pleased. “Don’t shortchange us. Hurry up and fill it to the top.”
After finally coaxing Su Yu to bring out the wine he had aged for almost two years, they certainly wouldn’t miss this opportunity.
Su Yu had no choice but to fill their cups to the brim.
As a result, after finishing the wine, they all ended up falling asleep at the table without saying much.
Wang Jinhe looked at the table full of sleeping people, her mouth twitching in exasperation. “I told them the aftereffect would be strong, but they didn’t believe me.”
“Just let them sleep it off,” Su Yu said, instructing someone to take them back to their rooms to rest.
However, he then went to the wine cellar and brought out two more barrels of wine.
“What’s this?” Wasn’t this wine his treasure? How could he bear to bring out two more barrels?
“This is for Boss Chen and the others,” Su Yu explained. He wanted to avoid any future unhappiness if they found out he had given Yin Fan and the others his own aged wine to drink.
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu with amusement. It seemed that during his time in Forget Sorrow City, Su Yu had made many like-minded friends.
“Yin Fan and the others were forcibly sent to Forget Sorrow City by their families. Their families hoped they would achieve great success and become powerful figures. But when they returned covered in blood and with an aura of death, those people treated them like demons,” Su Yu expressed his sympathy for Yin Fan and the others.
Before coming here, he had actually accompanied Yin Fan and the others back home. But in the eyes of their families, they were nothing but demons to be avoided.
Wang Jinhe frowned. “How could they do that?”
It was clear that it was their families who had given Yin Fan and the others the wings of demons, only to later despise them for becoming demons.
“So I brought them back here, thinking that they could have a better life in our family,” Su Yu concluded, and it seemed to be true.
In this household, Yin Fan and the others should soon find their own sense of belonging.
“That’s good,” Su Yu said. “In the future, we can entrust them with any tasks, and we’ll take care of their food and drink.” After so many years in Forget Sorrow City, Yin Fan and the others didn’t have many demands. They only wanted to live a peaceful and ordinary life at home. But when they returned, they found that their family was no longer there. If they were left with nothing to do here, they would surely feel out of place, as only guests have nothing to do. Family members are the ones who assign various tasks.
“Should we call them uncles, Daddy?” Xiao Bao asked curiously.
“Yes,” Su Yu replied.
“They are so pitiful. Their families don’t want them anymore. We’ll play with them in the future,” Xiao Bao said, patting his chest.
Su Yu nodded, suppressing a smile. “Alright, then I’ll rely on you to take care of them in the future.”
“No problem.”
Initially, Su Yu thought Xiao Bao was just speaking casually. However, when he found out that Yin Fan and the others were being led around the mountains by the children, he realized that Xiao Bao was serious and not joking.
Yin Fan and the others slept for more than a dozen hours, waking up the next day to bright daylight.
Xiao Bao knocked on the door and, after getting Yin Fan’s permission, pushed it open and peeked inside. “Uncles, you’ve been sleeping for a long time.”
Yin Fan sat up, rubbing his forehead. Since going to Forget Sorrow City, he hadn’t slept so well. Last night was the best sleep he had had in a long time. Besides the effects of the alcohol, what was even more important was that this place made him feel relaxed and safe, allowing him to sleep for such a long time.
“Mommy has left food for you,” Xiao Bao said.
“I’ll get up right away,” Yin Fan replied.
He quickly got dressed, walked to the door, and lifted Xiao Bao. “In the future, I’ll teach you how to ride horses and shoot arrows, okay?”
“Great,” Xiao Bao replied. Su Yu hadn’t actually taught those skills before.
“Come, uncles have gifts for you. I forgot to give them to you when you came over yesterday,” Yin Fan said as he brought out the items he had brought and gave each child a gift.
“Thank you, Uncle Yin Fan,” the four children said politely.
As Yin Fan was leaving, he saw Su Yu talking to Yuan Bao. He walked over and sat down, feeling a bit embarrassed.
“How do you feel after waking up?” Su Yu asked.
“I don’t feel uncomfortable,” Yin Fan replied.
