Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe’s puzzled expression and pulled the people to his side. “Xiao He, do you recognize these two people?”
Wang Jinhe shook her head. “I don’t recognize them, but I feel like I’ve seen them somewhere.”
Su Yu finally felt better. Wang Jinhe had a habit of forgetting unimportant people as soon as they were out of sight.
“On the way back from the homestead today.”
Reminded by Su Yu, Wang Jinhe remembered where she had seen these two people.
“How did they end up here? When I came back, they tried to stage an accident with me,” Wang Jinhe said, feeling very upset about the incident.
“Staging an accident?” What does that mean?
“Yes, we were traveling peacefully, and then this man suddenly collapsed in front of the carriage. If our carriage hadn’t been moving slowly, he might have been injured. Isn’t that staging an accident? And this girl didn’t even look at the person and ran to me for help as soon as he fell. Isn’t that strange?” Wang Jinhe expressed her suspicions to Su Yu.
Surprised, Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe. “If you realized something was wrong with these two, why didn’t you say anything? Why did you even take them to the clinic?”
“Isn’t it obvious that these two were up to no good? I didn’t hit anyone, and I even took them to the clinic. This way, no matter what they plan to do later, they can’t blame me. Don’t you think so?” Wang Jinhe said matter-of-factly.
Her words made Su Yu burst into laughter. He reached out and pinched Wang Jinhe’s cheek. “Being cautious like this is useless. After all, they came for you.”
Pointing at himself, Wang Jinhe frowned. “For me? I don’t even know them.”
“Strictly speaking, they came for their young master. According to Yuan Lin, their young master wanted to use these two to stage a hero-rescues-damsel scenario with you, and then establish a relationship with you, preferably gaining your favor,” Su Yu explained the situation to Wang Jinhe, wanting to see her reaction.
Wang Jinhe looked at the two individuals on the ground with a strange expression and furrowed her brow. “Is their young master not right in the head?”
Seeing Wang Jinhe mocking their young master’s mental state, Su Yu couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
“Why would you say that?”
“Am I wrong? These people clearly have something wrong with their heads. I’m not someone who would be pleased by such elaborate schemes. I have a child and a husband. Do you think they have a problem with their heads for going to such lengths?” Wang Jinhe said. “If I were a young, unmarried woman, maybe I would be happy about this, but the problem is, I’m already married.”
“I am already married, and I have no intention of changing husbands,” Wang Jinhe’s words amused Su Yu.
“I love hearing that,” Su Yu said with a smile.
“What do you plan to do with these two? You’re not going to keep them in our house, are you? That would be a waste of food,” Wang Jinhe grumbled.
“I’m telling you, you can’t be extravagant,”
Yin Fan stared at Wang Jinhe blankly, with a somewhat strange expression. “Sister-in-law, you’re quite stingy.”
“I’m not being stingy. If they want to plot against me, do I still have to pamper them with good food and drink?” Wang Jinhe said, furrowing her brow.
For Wang Jinhe, these two individuals represented a complete waste of resources.
Su Yu couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ll have them sent away later.”
Wang Jinhe nodded in satisfaction. “That would be just about right.”
Hearing their conversation, the two individuals knew they were in deep trouble today, but they were unwilling to accept it. They struggled to speak, “Our young master is very powerful, as long as you…”
Before they could finish their sentence, Su Yu kicked them out. “Say another word?”
Watching the person being kicked and coughing up blood by Su Yu, Yin Fan shook his head in silence. This person was really foolish. Couldn’t he see that his brother was angry? Even if he was appeased by his sister-in-law, his anger was genuine.
“You… this is playing with people’s lives.”
“Wan Gu,” Su Yu called out.
Wan Gu walked in with a large lobster in hand. “Young Master, what’s the matter?”
“This person said I’m playing with people’s lives. I’m leaving it to you,” Su Yu ordered expressionlessly.
“No problem.”
Wan Gu looked at Wang Jinhe. “Madam, the young master has sent someone to the coastal area to get a lot of seafood as you requested. Can we prepare it for a meal?”
Wang Jinhe already noticed the large lobster in Wan Gu’s hand as he entered. “I’ll go take a look.”
She took a few steps out, then turned back and kissed Su Yu on the cheek. “Don’t be angry. I’ll make something delicious for you.”
“Okay.”
Promising is one thing, but actually following through is another.
Yin Fan stared blankly at Su Yu. “Brother, it seems like our sister-in-law is a bit unconventional.”
Kissing Su Yu in front of so many people, if others found out, who knows what they would say.
The young girl who was with the man felt a flutter in her heart when she saw Su Yu. He was the most handsome man she had ever seen.
Yin Fan, seeing the dreamy look the young girl is giving Su Yu, felt displeased. “What’s with that look? If you keep it up, I’ll gouge your eyes out.”
“Please spare me, Young Master. I’m willing to serve you as a servant,” the young girl knelt down and cried.
“What do you think, Brother?” Yin Fan was amazed. This girl had quite the audacity.
Su Yu looked at Yin Fan. “Don’t be so obvious with your schadenfreude.”
“It’s not schadenfreude. I just think this person lacks self-awareness. How dare she say such things to you,” Yin Fan said, shaking his head in disbelief.
Su Yu toyed with his fingers and walked over to the person kneeling on the ground.
The young girl gazed at Su Yu with infatuation, but as Su Yu walked past her, she was about to speak when she saw him continue on without acknowledging her.
“Deal with it thoroughly,” Su Yu said in a simple four-word command, sending a chill down the young girl’s spine.
No, it shouldn’t be like this.
She was not unattractive, and even the master had shown interest in her. This opportunity was hard-won for her. She had encountered many men, but none as handsome as Su Yu. Not only was he good-looking, but he was also very powerful. If she wanted to break free from those people, she needed a strong backer, and Su Yu was powerful enough.
Becoming his would be a step further in freeing herself from those people, but he didn’t even spare her a glance.
“I can do anything…” she began to say.
Yin Fan looked at the anxious woman and sneered, “Do you think my brother’s place is a garbage dump? Will he take anyone?”
To reject a wife who is both beautiful and capable, and instead choose a subpar option—was the problem with her or with Su Yu?
The woman seemed to be taking herself too seriously.
“My brother said to deal with it thoroughly. Don’t linger here,” Yin Fan said.
“Okay.”
After that, Su Yu didn’t see the woman again, and he didn’t inquire about her whereabouts.
Su Yu went outside to see Wang Jinhe tidying up those menacing looking things. He walked up behind her and embraced her, his voice lazy. “What are you doing?”
“As you can see, I’m preparing food.”
“Mommy, what is this? A giant spider?”
