Wang Jinhe was amused by Xiao Bao’s comment about the giant spider.
“This isn’t a giant spider, it’s a king crab.” She didn’t know how they managed to get their hands on it, but they seemed to acquire all sorts of things.
“Can we eat it?” Xiao Bao asked as he poked the king crab.
Wang Jinhe nodded with a smile. “Of course, it’s definitely edible. You’ll see once I’m done preparing it.”
She shrugged her shoulders. “Let go of me.”
Su Yu reluctantly released her. Yin Fan, seeing him act this way, was astonished. “If Boss Chen saw you acting like a servant to your wife, he would surely doubt whether the person who defeated him was real.”
Su Yu casually leaned back in his chair and said, “Those without a wife wouldn’t understand this kind of pleasure.”
Did these single guys have the nerve to talk to him about this?
Yin Fan gave Su Yu an annoyed look. If he didn’t tease them, would he die?
Just the thought of someone coming to steal his wife later made him very upset.
“What are you thinking, Brother?” Yin Fan asked excitedly as he sat next to Su Yu.
Brother’s ideas were always particularly fun, and he wanted to join in.
“I’m thinking about how to entertain the young master of those two after they make a move,” Su Yu said thoughtfully.
Upon hearing this, Yin Fan spoke up, “I can help you with that.”
Su Yu shook his head after glancing at Yin Fan. “No need. I’ll handle my own affairs.”
Yin Fan didn’t believe Su Yu’s words, but he changed the subject, “Brother, when do you think the other party will show up?”
“Soon,” Su Yu said, with that thought in mind.
The fact that they sent someone to intercept Jinhe indicated that they were likely already in the vicinity. As long as they arrived, it would be a good thing, and for him, dealing with them would be even simpler.
Yin Fan and the others exchanged glances, beginning to anticipate the other party’s appearance.
In the evening, Wang Jinhe prepared a seafood feast for them.
After dinner, Su Yu dealt with matters in his study before returning to the room. He felt a great sense of accomplishment as he looked at Wang Jinhe’s increasingly beautiful appearance.
Approaching her, he embraced her and inhaled the delicate fragrance emanating from her, feeling a deep sense of tranquility.
“Are you done with your work?” she asked.
Bending down to her lips, Su Yu kissed her and said, “Xiao He, you are mine, and mine alone.”
Before Wang Jinhe could react, Su Yu lifted her up.
Before going to sleep, Wang Jinhe had only one thought: jealous men were terrifying.
A few days later, a very luxurious carriage appeared at the entrance of Wang Jinhe’s house.
Su Yu’s mood soured upon hearing Yuan Lin’s report.
Wearing a cold expression, he went out with his men. When he saw the person getting off the carriage, Su Yu sneered. It was him.
“Why would the young master be him?” Yuan Bao, who clearly recognized the visitor, asked in surprise.
“It seems that he gained a lot after following his father back, to the extent that he dares to come back and challenge me openly,” Su Yu said, openly daring to compete for his wife. Wasn’t that audacious?
Yin Fan and the others looked at the two of them and asked quietly, “Does Yuan Bao know this person?”
“He does. He was once Madam’s fiancé. Later, after he passed the imperial examination with the help of Madam’s brother’s notes, he broke off the engagement, deeming Madam unworthy of him,” Yuan Bao explained simply.
Yin Fan and the others were outraged. How dare he try to compete with their brother for his wife?
When Wu Xinlin saw Su Yu coming out of the house, he walked over and said, “I want to see Xiao He.”
Seeing Wu Xinlin consciously flaunting the jade pendant around his waist in front of Su Yu, Yuan Bao could only think of one word: ignorant.
To people like Wu Xinlin, such items were considered valuable, but to Su Yu, they were useless. Su Yu had many jade pendants, including high-quality warm jade and blood jade, but he only wore the jade pendant symbolizing his status as a prince, which was given to him by the emperor. In addition, he only wore a jade ring given to him by his wife.
“Yuan Bao, Is he trying to show off his shabby jade pendant to Brother Yu?” Yin Fan, after observing for a while, also understood and asked with a strange expression.
Yuan Bao nodded. “Indeed.”
“Does he know how much money Brother Yu has?”
“He probably doesn’t know,” Yuan Bao said. Even the young master himself didn’t know how much money he had, how could these outsiders know?
Wu Xinlin naturally overheard their conversation and felt that these people were envious of him.
Seeing Wu Xinlin’s proud look, Yuan Xu seemed ready to take action.
” Young master, Can I take action?” Yuan Xu asked.
Upon hearing this, Wu Xinlin spoke coldly, “You dare.”
“Oh? You don’t dare?” Yuan Xu asked.
“Yuan Xu, give him a makeover,” Su Yu said, with a smirk.
“To what extent does the young master want it?” Yuan Xu asked respectfully.
“Make it so that even his parents won’t recognize him. After all, we are the good guys,” Su Yu said, with a sardonic smile.
Yuan Xu acted without hesitation, charging at Wu Xinlin and striking him without holding back.
“What are you doing, Su Yu?” Wang Jinhe, hearing the commotion outside, asked in confusion.
“Xiao He, an old acquaintance has come. Do you want to meet him? But if you knew who it was, you probably wouldn’t want to,” Su Yu muttered.
Wang Jinhe walked over to Su Yu. “An old acquaintance? Do I know him?”
Su Yu pointed at the person being beaten by Yuan Xu. Seeing him, Wang Jinhe frowned slightly, clearly not wanting to see this person.
“How did he end up here? Wasn’t he missing? What does he want by suddenly coming back?” This person had disappeared, hadn’t he? What was his sudden return all about?
“He’s the one who wanted to compete with me for my wife,” Su Yu said.
Upon hearing Su Yu’s words, Wang Jinhe couldn’t help but think of Wu Xinlin’s relentless pursuit before.
“Enough is enough. Yuan Xu, hit him harder. With Wan Gu around, he won’t die,” Wang Jinhe instructed.
“Yes.”
Upon hearing Wang Jinhe’s voice, Wu Xinlin turned to look at her. When he saw Wang Jinhe, he regretted his actions. Why did he abandon her in the first place? If he had known that Wang Jinhe would achieve what she had today, how could he have done such a thing?
“Xiao He, I know I was wrong before. Now I have money and status. I can give you a good life. Just promise to leave this man and be with me. I’m willing to marry you as a concubine,” Wu Xinlin thought that with his current status, Wang Jinhe would surely agree.
“Where did this idiot come from? Did he leave his brain at home when he went out?” Where did Wu Xinlin get the confidence to say such things?
A concubine? She was a legitimate wife. Why would she become a concubine?
Yin Fan and the others took a few steps back, looking at Wu Xinlin with pity. This person was quite bold to say such things at this moment.
The palpable low pressure emanating from Su Yu made them all feel suffocated.
“Xiao He, he’s just playing around with you. Only I am sincere to you. If you’re willing, I can treat your son as my own. You used to like me so much…”
