Listening to Wang Jinhe’s words, Gu Xiruo’s expression turned unpleasant. She realized that Wang Jinhe knew everything.
As for the little clothes from two years ago, she had intentionally sent them over.
“Do you think you can succeed?” Gu Xiruo looked at Wang Jinhe with a hint of panic, gritting her teeth.
“I have all the evidence in my hands. How do you think the people from the Gu family will react?” Wang Jinhe propped her chin up, looking at Gu Xiruo, who was pretending to be calm.
“You indeed knew about these things a long time ago,” Gu Xiruo said with an unpleasant expression.
Wang Jinhe chuckled, finding Gu Xiruo’s demeanor somewhat pitiful.
“Having an influential husband has its advantages. He will help me investigate anything I want to know. But that’s something you can’t envy,” Wang Jinhe said, looking at Gu Xiruo and then at Ming Wanning with a subtle and deep affection.
There seemed to be an indescribable feeling between Wang Jinhe and Gu Xiruo. Gu Xiruo appeared to be somewhat uneasy in Wang Jinhe’s presence.
Coughing lightly, although it felt wrong to think this way, she couldn’t shake off the feeling, and it was quite apparent.
“Stop showing off here. You already have so much, why do you still want to compete with me?” Gu Xiruo gritted her teeth, her voice somewhat hysterical as she looked at Wang Jinhe.
Wang Jinhe was amused by Gu Xiruo’s attempt to turn the tables. She walked up to Gu Xiruo and patted her face. “To be honest, if you hadn’t come looking for trouble, I wouldn’t have known about these things at all. Do you think letting two self-righteous people go would make me stay in Xie Family Village forever? You’ve been in the capital for so many years, and you’re quite capable. When did you become so naive?”
“You…”
“Gu Xiruo, if I were you, I would tread carefully instead of coming here to flaunt your power.”
“Wang Jinhe, don’t be too arrogant. Do you really think they will acknowledge you?” Who in the Gu family wouldn’t want what she held in her hands? Did Wang Jinhe think that someone would pay attention just because she spoke? It’s laughable.
Gu Xiruo’s pretentious demeanor made Wang Jinhe feel a bit embarrassed to bully her.
“Are you relying on what you have in your hands? When did you become so naive, Gu Xiruo? Compared to the wealth and power I hold, what you have is nothing.”
After adjusting her sleeves, Wang Jinhe spoke calmly, “I’m not interested in the Gu family, and I don’t like the Gu family. Don’t continue to flaunt yourself in front of me, or I can leave you with nothing. After all, with one arm chopped off, it seems like you have nothing.”
Gu Xiruo’s pupils contracted as she stared at Wang Jinhe. “Was it you?”
Although filled with doubt, her voice was resolute.
Gu Xiruo trembled with anger. It was all because of Wang Jinhe, that she had become so passive, constantly worrying about the possibility of Lu Lingfeng coming back for revenge.
“Wang Jinhe…”
“Qiu Yi, teach Miss Gu some manners.” Wang Jinhe smiled at Gu Xiruo, but the smile did not reach her eyes.
Qiu Yi walked over and kicked Gu Xiruo’s knee. Gu Xiruo staggered and knelt on the ground, her knee hitting the ground hard.
The sound made Ming Wanning wince, feeling the pain even though she was just listening.
Gu Xiruo had been raised by the Gu family since childhood, a true young lady. Now, being suddenly kicked to her knees, it was nothing short of humiliation for her.
She looked up at Wang Jinhe fiercely, the visible hatred prompting Qiu Yi to slap Gu Xiruo across the face.
Gu Xiruo was stunned. No one had ever dared to strike her like that.
She covered her face with her hand, looking at Wang Jinhe in disbelief. “You… how dare you hit me?”
“A noblewoman from a prestigious family, if the princess hits, she hits. Does the Gu family have any objections?”
“Do keep your objections to yourself. How dare a mere young lady from a prestigious family address me directly? Is this the custom of your Gu family?” Wang Jinhe looked at Gu Xiruo coldly, sneering with disdain.
Gu Xiruo trembled with anger, but she couldn’t retort. No matter how one looked at it, today’s incident was her fault.
Even if someone spoke up, in the end, they would say that she deserved it.
“It seems Miss Gu now understands what manners are. Next time you see me, remember to kneel and pay your respects.” After speaking, Wang Jinhe approached Gu Xiruo and whispered something that only the two of them could hear.
With anger in her eyes, Gu Xiruo watched as Wang Jinhe walked away.
Seeing Wang Jinhe about to leave, Yu Manxue hurriedly caught up but Gu Xiruo discreetly held down the hem of her skirt. Then, stumbling, she lunged towards Wang Jinhe. Seeing this, Qiu Yi’s eyes turned cold, and she stepped forward to push Yu Manxue back.
“What are you doing?” Qiu Yi reprimanded in a cold voice.
As Qiu Yi blocked Yu Manxue, Wang Jinhe took a few steps back and stumbled over the door threshold, nearly falling to the ground.
Ming Wanning stepped forward and helped support Wang Jinhe.
Despite her quick reflexes, the momentum caused both of them to fall to the ground.
Ming Wanning rubbed her sore wrist and asked, “Jinhe, are you okay?”
Not hearing a response from Wang Jinhe, Ming Wanning turned to look at the unconscious Wang Jinhe, feeling a pang of concern.
“Ming’er, quickly go find a doctor. Qiu Yi, stop these two from leaving,” Ming Wanning frowned and instructed.
Seeing Wang Jinhe unconscious, Qiu Yi kicked Yu Manxue, who was lying on the ground, several meters away, to prevent her from leaving.
“Yu Manxue, you better hope that our princess is okay, or you’ll be in big trouble.”
There was a medical clinic near the silver shop, and Ming Wanning quickly brought the doctor over.
The doctor examined Wang Jinhe’s pulse and was momentarily startled. “The princess is over a month pregnant. Today’s shock caused a disturbance in her pregnancy, leading to her fainting.”
Qiu Yi, upon hearing that Wang Jinhe was pregnant, became even more worried. “Doctor, is our lady and the child okay?”
If something happened to the child today, no one present would escape unscathed.
“The princess and the child are both in good health and there is no major issue.” The doctor also knew that Wang Jinhe was the most beloved princess of the Imperial Prince Yu, and any trouble with the child would be a big problem.
Qiu Yi breathed a sigh of relief, as long as the lady and the child were okay.
Upon hearing that Wang Jinhe was pregnant, Yu Manxue was dumbfounded.
“I… I didn’t know. I didn’t mean to,” Yu Manxue stammered.
Qiu Yi sneered, “You can explain that to our Master.”
Qiu Yi walked over to Ming Wanning and lifted Wang Jinhe up.
Ming Wanning and Ming ‘er gathered the items Wang Jinhe had purchased and followed Qiu Yi as they left. As for what would happen to Gu Xiruo and Yu Manxue later, it would depend on Su Yu.
“Sister, I beg you to help me. I really didn’t mean it,” Yu Manxue pleaded. Regardless of whether Wang Jinhe and the child were okay, she was finished.
