Knowing Qi Ming’s true nature, Lu Lingfeng had no desire to say more to him. “Please leave my home,” he said.
Qi Ming gave Lu Lingfeng a deep look. He was indeed a disobedient child, much like Su Yu.
Turning away, Qi Ming left. Lu Lingfeng did not see the stormy look in his eyes as he turned away.
Lu Lingfeng breathed a sigh of relief. He still felt somewhat powerless when facing Qi Ming, and he couldn’t afford to be like that next time.
However…
Considering something, Lu Lingfeng left with his men and headed to the residence of the Prince Yu.
Lu Lingfeng’s arrival left Wang Jinhe and his wife momentarily stunned. Wang Jinhe was very curious about Lu Lingfeng’s purpose for coming.
“Husband, what do you think is the purpose of Lu Lingfeng’s visit?” Wang Jinhe, who had been feeling lazy due to her recent pregnancy, was eager for something to occupy her mind.
“Let him in.” Upon hearing Wang Jinhe’s words, Su Yu knew she was very interested in Lu Lingfeng’s intentions.
“Your Highness.”
“Rise, what brings you here today?” Su Yu asked directly, not beating around the bush.
“Qi Ming came to see me today,” Lu Lingfeng replied.
Su Yu looked at Lu Lingfeng with some surprise, his eyes deep. “Why are you telling me this?”
“I want to cooperate with Your Highness.” He was just an ordinary person, and going up against Qi Ming was like reaching for the stars. But Su Yu was different. He believed that Su Yu would have a way to deal with Qi Ming.
Wang Jinhe became even more interested. “What kind of cooperation do you have in mind?”
“I want Qi Ming’s life,” Lu Lingfeng said to the two of them, word by word.
Wang Jinhe looked at Lu Lingfeng in astonishment, and asked in great surprise, “If I remember correctly, Qi Ming is your father. Not only did he give you his people and make them call you the heir, but he also handed over all his assets in Xuan Empire to you.”
Lu Lingfeng sneered mockingly. “So what? Can that bring back my mother?”
Lu Lingfeng told Su Yu about the situation between Qi Ming and his mother.
After hearing this, Wang Jinhe’s mood soured. “This Qi Ming is really despicable. Allowing those people to harm a pregnant woman is beyond being just a scumbag.”
Su Yu tapped the table lightly and, after a while, looked at Lu Lingfeng. “He probably wants you to go to Qi Empire, right? Once you’re in Qi Empire, you’ll be the royal heir. Are you really not tempted at all?”
“What’s there to go back to in a decaying country? I prefer Xuan Empire,” Lu Lingfeng replied.
His words sounded quite sincere.
Wang Jinhe nodded in agreement. “Those who understand the situation in both countries would probably choose Xuan Empire over Qi Empire.”
“You refused him?” Su Yu asked.
Lu Lingfeng nodded. “I will definitely refuse him directly. I won’t go back with him.”
Wang Jinhe sighed softly and turned to Su Yu. “Prince Yu, I can’t help but feel that you’ve gained another troublesome brother. The next target for Qi Ming should be Lu Lingfeng, right?”
Even if he’s his son, so what? Since he dares to defy, his ultimate fate won’t be too good.
Lu Lingfeng looked at Wang Jinhe with a furrowed brow. “What do you mean, Your Highness?”
“Qi Ming has always wanted my husband to go to Qi Empire to help him. Since my husband didn’t agree, do you know what he’s done to my husband?” Wang Jinhe asked Lu Lingfeng.
“What?” Lu Lingfeng asked instinctively, feeling a strange sensation at the same time.
“He had my husband’s parents deal with him before, and now he wants to capture my husband and imprison him, perhaps even dismember him, now that you defied his wishes. How do you think he will treat you?” Wang Jinhe looked calmly at Lu Lingfeng.
“And my husband used to have a close relationship with him, they were good friends,” she added.
Lu Lingfeng looked at Wang Jinhe in shock, then instinctively turned to Su Yu. He didn’t refute Wang Jinhe’s words, and his expression was calm, indicating that what Wang Jinhe said was true.
Lu Lingfeng suddenly felt that Qi Ming was a very frightening person.
“How could he do such a thing? Weren’t they friends?” Lu Lingfeng found it difficult to accept this reality.
“What does it matter if they were friends? As long as they can’t be of use to him and might cause him trouble, he will destroy them. It used to be only Su Yu, but now it includes you. You’d better be careful,” Wang Jinhe warned.
Su Yu glanced at Lu Lingfeng and calmly said, “You’d better remember what Xiao He reminded you, or you’ll be the one at a disadvantage.”
“Qi Ming is the kind of person who will destroy what he can’t obtain.”
The information Lu Lingfeng learned from Su Yu and the others was a real blow to him. Fortunately, he now knew everything. If he had remained ignorant of these things, he probably wouldn’t have known how he would end up.
“Thank you for the reminder, Your Highness. I know what to do now.”
Su Yu didn’t say anything further, but Wang Jinhe asked, “How do you plan to cooperate with us?”
“I can do anything as long as it helps me avenge my mother. I’m just an ordinary merchant and can’t deal with Qi Ming,” Lu Lingfeng said, not hiding his intentions and speaking directly.
His implication was that he was willing to do anything, and he could handle any task arranged by Su Yu.
Wang Jinhe twitched her mouth, looking at Lu Lingfeng. It was the first time she had seen such a partner, someone who declared their intention to cooperate without having thought everything through.
“War will break out soon, and even if you do nothing, Qi Ming will die,” Su Yu said, surprising Lu Lingfeng with this information.
“Thank you for letting me know, King Yu. I know what to do now,” Lu Lingfeng said.
Su Yu raised an eyebrow, impressed by Lu Lingfeng’s receptiveness.
Later, Su Yu also told Lu Lingfeng about Qi Ming being poisoned, to which Lu Lingfeng reacted with surprise, “He was also poisoned?”
Doesn’t Qi Ming have a skilled physician by his side? How could someone like that also be poisoned? It seems that the people around Qi Ming are not as capable as they seem.
“That’s strange,” Lu Lingfeng agreed. “The last time I saw Qi Ming, he had a highly skilled physician by his side. It’s interesting that someone like that would also be poisoned.”
“You previously dealt with Gu Xiruo, didn’t you? How did you reconcile with Qing Yukong?” Wang Jinhe had been puzzled by this. She couldn’t understand why Lu Lingfeng had let Gu Xiruo go.
She had thought about it for a long time but still couldn’t figure it out.
Lu Lingfeng replied in a deep voice, “It’s not that I reconciled with Qing Yukong. He somehow obtained a keepsake of my mother’s, and it was for the sake of that keepsake that I let Gu Xiruo go.”
Otherwise, he would have made Gu Xiruo and the Gu family pay a heavy price.
Wang Jinhe suddenly felt that this situation seemed a bit melodramatic.
