Lingquan Space: Fortunate Wife of a Farmer’s Family Chapter 731

Chapter 731: It’s My Fault

If it truly involves the Art of Mechanisms, he might understand why Yu Jie’s family ended up in such a situation.

He recalled a very mysterious family that always remained hidden in the mountains, unknown to others. However, rumors spread about their exceptional expertise in the Art of Mechanisms. Many who sought after this family failed in their endeavors.

With this in mind, Yu Jingchuan turned his gaze towards Yu Jie, who had a pained expression in her eyes. “It’s me…”

“It’s me who caused the deaths of everyone in the family.” My father had warned against bringing outsiders back and even if one did, they weren’t to disclose the method to unlock the mechanisms in the family. She was the one who brought that person back, not only bringing them back but also disclosing everything to that person.

Yu Jie lowered her head, looking at her hands, her face turning deathly pale, her gaze somewhat lost.

What had she done?

She raised her hand and slapped herself hard in the face. “Because I brought that person back, told him where the mechanisms were, how to unlock the family’s mechanisms, things turned out this way. It’s all my fault.”

As Yu Jie thought about how her family looked before their deaths, she felt a suffocating heartache.

Upon receiving the news and returning home, she found her family wiped out, everyone dead amidst a raging inferno.

Afterward, she and that person were hunted down, but in the end, they were unexpectedly saved by the Master.

However, these supposed pursuits and the annihilation of her family were all orchestrated by that person.

“Master, do you think I’m foolish?” Yu Jie gazed at Yu Jingchuan with a desolate voice.

“Now is not the time for self-doubt. If you want to  seek revenge, then pull yourself together. You are the only one left in your family. Do you want to see that person roam free?” Yu Jingchuan rebuked angrily.

With things having escalated to this point, self-pity and remorse would serve no purpose. Everything had changed.

No one can bear such consequences.

Not him, nor Yu Jie.

She wanted to repent, to atone, but it wasn’t something she could achieve simply by saying it.

“Master, do you think my father and the others blamed me as they died, blaming me for bringing back an outsider and bringing disaster upon the family?” Yu Jie spoke in confusion.

She was now trapped in a vicious cycle, unable to grasp anything, only aware of her wrongdoing. She believed everything was her fault.

Seeing Yu Jie in this state, Yu Jingchuan raised his hand and slapped her across the face.

“Master…” Yu Shan and the others looked worriedly at Yu Jingchuan.

Seeing Yu Jie like this, why did the Master resort to violence?

“Are you awake now?” Yu Jingchuan asked Yu Jie coldly.

Yu Jie hung her head low, her newfound clarity accompanied by pain.

Even Yu Jingchuan noticed that Yu Jie’s smile seemed somewhat forced.

“From the letter left by your father, Yu Jie, it’s evident they didn’t blame you. The letter advises you to be cautious of that person, not to trust him, and it even refrains from urging you to seek revenge. With all this in mind, do you still believe they blamed you?” Yu Jingchuan was genuinely curious about Yu Jie’s perspective, wondering how she could think her family blamed her until their last moments.

Yu Jie stared blankly at the letter her father had written, a bitter smile on her face. “Master, I…”

“I won’t ask you for more. I have only one question for you: Do you want revenge?”

Revenge?

Yu Jie gazed at Yu Jingchuan in a daze.

Yes, revenge.

The lives of so many in her family cannot be disregarded. The main culprit is still at large, and she cannot continue to languish like this.

She must seek vengeance for her family.

Taking a deep breath, Yu Jie looked at Yu Jingchuan, a smile that was not quite a smile appearing on her face. “Master, I understand.”

“Knowing is good enough.”

Yu Jie lowered her head, gazing at the items in her hands, ultimately realizing that these objects had brought trouble. “Master, could you please help me deliver these to the Emperor? He is a good Emperor. I believe these items will be more useful in his hands than in mine.”

“Are you sure you want to give them to the Emperor? These are the only things left by your parents.”

“Yes, I have my father’s letter; that is enough for me.”

“Alright.” Yu Jingchuan took the items handed over by Yu Jie, a hint of resignation in his eyes. He hadn’t expected things to culminate in such a manner.

Since it was not suitable for Yu Jingchuan to enter the palace, he went to find Wang Jinhe with the items.

“Jinhe, are you free now?”

“Uncle, I’m not busy at the moment. Is there something you need?” Wang Jinhe asked curiously.

“I have something here for you to give to the Emperor.” Yu Jingchuan handed the black box to Wang Jinhe.

Looking at the black box in her hands, Wang Jinhe appeared puzzled. “What is this?”

“It’s something that might be useful for the Emperor. Don’t ask too many questions. Just take it to the Emperor,” Yu Jingchuan reassured him.

Although Wang Jinhe was curious to know more about what was going on, upon hearing Yu Jingchuan’s words, she refrained from asking further questions. “Alright, I’ll take it to the Emperor since I’ll be going to the palace later anyway.”

“Great, I appreciate your help, Jinhe.”

“Uncle, why are you thanking me? We are all family.”

After exchanging a few words with Yu Jingchuan, Wang Jinhe left with the black box.

Upon entering the palace, he found Xuan Feiran discussing border affairs with ministers. Wang Jinhe didn’t want to disturb him and decided to wait by the side where the Empress was.

Once Xuan Feiran finished his tasks, he realized Wang Jinhe had entered the palace and had been waiting for him for nearly two hours.

Hastily heading to where the Empress was, he found Wang Jinhe chatting with her. Several children were playing nearby.

“Jinhe, is there a reason for your visit to the palace today?”

“I’ve come to inform you, Brother, that I will definitely take action against the Yu family in the future,” Wang Jinhe spoke up.

“Oh? Wasn’t the plan to act later? Why the sudden change?” Xuan Feiran inquired.

After a moment of hesitation, Wang Jinhe explained the situation to Xuan Feiran, “Well, the Yu family is no longer what they used to be. My Uncle’s family faced trouble, and my grandfather left the Yu family because of collusion with outsiders by Yu Baiya and others.”

Xuan Feiran was taken aback by this unexpected revelation.

“Do you want my assistance?”

“Not really. I just wanted to inform you. Initially, I thought of seeking your help to deal with the oldest member of the Yu family. However, since that person has already been taken away and his whereabouts are unknown, I won’t need your help. My Uncle and I will handle things from here,” Wang Jinhe explained, sharing his intentions with Xuan Feiran.

Xuan Feiran looked at Wang Jinhe in astonishment, realizing they had underestimated Jinhe all along. Her talent in this aspect was no less than that of Su Yu.

However, when Su Yu was at home, she often avoided tasks and focused solely on agricultural work, delegating other responsibilities to Su Yu, which led others to believe Jinhe was only capable in that regard.

It appeared that everyone had been misled by Jinhe.

Seeing Xuan Feiran’s surprised expression, Wang Jinhe coughed lightly, feeling a bit embarrassed.
