Chapter 762: Return the Items to Me

“They are not my parents.” What status did those two individuals hold? She couldn’t possibly be unaware.

What could they offer her?

Their contributions only amounted to assisting with trivial matters, tasks she couldn’t even bear to acknowledge. She had shown some favor only because they were useful at the time. Did they truly think highly of themselves?

Observing Gu Xiruo in this state, Gu Sheng couldn’t help but feel disappointed. Gu Xiruo was rejecting even her own parents.

“Gu Xiruo, they are your biological parents.”

“I don’t have such destitute parents,” Gu Xiruo declared coldly.

Seeing Gu Xiruo in this light, Gu Sheng, for the first time, found this child’s unfamiliarity with herself to be unsettling.

“You can leave. There’s nothing here for you.”

“Return all these items to me.” To Gu Xiruo, since these items were already given to her, they belonged to her.

By reclaiming the items now, Gu Sheng was essentially taking her possessions away.

“Escort her out.” Gu Sheng had no intention of engaging in a dispute with Gu Xiruo.

Gu Xiruo glared angrily at Gu Sheng, “I said give me back my things, and I will leave.”

“There’s nothing here that is yours, so naturally, my belongings won’t be given to you.”

One sentence left Gu Xiruo’s expression extremely grim.

“But they belong to me.”

“If you think I’ve taken your things, you can report me to the authorities,” Gu Sheng said calmly, looking coldly at Gu Xiruo in her current state.

He had been reflecting on his actions the previous night, wondering why Gu Xiruo had turned into this person driven by self-interest and where he had gone wrong.

Eventually, he realized his mistake.

The biggest mistake was that he had spoiled Gu Xiruo too much.

He had nurtured in her the notion that she should always get what she wanted.

Now, Gu Xiruo’s transformation was partially his responsibility because he had spoiled her.

“Since you’ve always spoiled me, Gu Sheng, why not continue being good to me? Why treat me like this?” Gu Xiruo glared fiercely at Gu Sheng, expressing her anger.

Upon hearing Gu Xiruo’s words, Gu Sheng felt a pang of sadness in his heart.

She was his beloved daughter, the foster daughter he had chosen to spoil even at the expense of his biological daughter.

With a soft sigh, he said, “It’s my fault for raising you this way.”

Gu Xiruo didn’t respond to Gu Sheng’s words; instead, she just coldly stared at him, saying, “Give me the property deeds, and I will leave.”

Gu Sheng stood up and returned to his room, instructing the guard as he entered, “If she refuses to leave, then throw her out.”

“Yes, Master.”

The guard, facing Gu Xiruo who wanted to follow, blocked her path and said, “Miss, please leave. Don’t make it difficult for us.”

“Get lost. You’re nothing but a guard dog,” Gu Xiruo said, reaching out to push the guard aside to confront Gu Sheng.

The guard, seeing that Gu Xiruo was unwilling to leave, grabbed her by the collar and threw her out, then instructed the people at the gate to close the courtyard door, preventing Gu Xiruo from entering.

Gu Xiruo felt extremely upset seeing them treat her this way.

“How dare you do this to me?” Gu Xiruo was genuinely furious.

That despicable person actually dared to throw her out.

“Miss, please go back. The Master does not want to see you right now.”

This was not a joke; indeed, Gu Sheng truly did not want to see Gu Xiruo.

With a dark expression, Gu Xiruo glared at the guard and then turned to leave.

Upon returning to her courtyard, Gu Xiruo summoned Ming Ye and said, “I have something for you to do.”

Ming Ye frowned, looking at Gu Xiruo, “What do you want me to do for you?”

Looking directly at Ming Ye, Gu Xiruo spoke slowly and firmly, “I want you to help me kill Gu Sheng.”

Ming Ye was shocked, staring at Gu Xiruo in disbelief, “Are you out of your mind? He raised you since childhood and has always been kind to you, your foster father.”

What was this woman thinking? Wanting to take Gu Sheng’s life.

Despite Gu Sheng’s shortcomings, he had genuinely cared for Gu Xiruo as his own daughter.

The decision to reclaim the items from Gu Xiruo was solely due to her own actions.

“I don’t care. I want you to help me kill him,” Gu Xiruo said angrily, looking at Ming Ye.

Ming Ye remained silent for a while before shaking his head, “I won’t help you kill him.”

“You were the one who acted that way towards him first. It’s only natural for him to reclaim what he gave you. How could you do such a thing?” Ming Ye looked at Gu Xiruo, realizing for the first time that he didn’t know this woman well enough.

She was truly ruthless.

Not even sparing her foster father.

“Ming Ye, don’t forget, you said you would help me with tasks.”

“I did say that, but it doesn’t include helping you kill your foster father,” Ming Ye said coldly.

Gu Xiruo truly couldn’t compare to Wang Jinhe.

Gu Sheng’s decision to abandon Wang Jinhe and keep Gu Xiruo was his biggest mistake.

Upon hearing Ming Ye’s refusal, Gu Xiruo’s expression soured even more, “If you carry out this task for me, I will let you leave.”

However, Ming Ye shook his head in disagreement, “I won’t agree to that.”

Ming Ye would rather stay by Gu Xiruo’s side for another year than do something against his own will.

“He raised you, treated you well, and yet you still want his life. It’s beyond comprehension.” How could someone be so ungrateful?

She was truly going too far.

Gu Xiruo took a deep breath and looked at Ming Ye, “Ming Ye, you only need to follow my orders; there’s no need for you to interfere.”

“I can also choose not to obey. Gu Xiruo, do you really consider yourself my master?” Ming Ye sarcastically remarked.

Gu Xiruo’s expression worsened significantly upon hearing Ming Ye’s words.

“This is all his own doing. If he hadn’t treated me this way, I wouldn’t have these thoughts. It’s all Gu Sheng’s fault,” Gu Xiruo said hysterically.

Listening to her words, Ming Ye shook his head helplessly, “Gu Xiruo, you are being incredibly unreasonable. Whose fault is it really, Gu Sheng’s or yours? Don’t you have any sense of self-reflection?”

He saw things clearly between them. It was evident to anyone with common sense who was at fault.

Now, Gu Xiruo was capable of uttering such insane words. He had never encountered such shameless behavior before.

Disrespecting her own father, calling him worthless was one thing, but now that he refused to give her those possessions back, she saw it as a personal attack against her.

This woman truly believed she was always right, and everyone else was in the wrong.

“Ming Ye…”

Gu Xiruo detested being accused in such a manner.

However, no matter what, she believed it was all Gu Sheng’s fault, his pettiness.

“If there’s nothing else, please don’t call me again.” He said, preparing to leave.

“How can you make me help you, Ming Ye?” Gu Xiruo asked, looking at Ming Ye.

Ming Ye shook his head, “Give up on that thought. I won’t assist you.”

“Gu Xiruo, you already have enough possessions, and your father has been good to you. Acting this way will only lead to alienation. It has already begun, don’t you see it?”
