“What’s going on here?” Su Yu asked as he and Wang Jinhe returned from the mountain. They noticed a group of people at their home, some of whom seemed quite agitated. However, Grandma Wang was sitting there with a smile on her face, suggesting that she had not been at a disadvantage.
Grandma Wang turned to Su Yu and Wang Jinhe and said, “These folks came here to cause trouble.”
Su Yu raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Trouble? What kind of trouble?”
Wang Jinhe added, “They want to join us in growing watermelons and making money, but we don’t want to bring them along.”
Grandma Wang chuckled, “I told them they can try to make trouble, but it won’t change our decision.”
Su Yu looked at the disgruntled group and asked, “Who are they?”
Grandma Wang replied, “They are the ones who tried to harm Jinhe and our family in the past. They’re here to demand a share of our success now.”
Su Yu’s expression turned serious. “I see. Well, we won’t be bullied. Let them try.”
Wang Jinhe nodded in agreement, and they both approached the group of troublemakers, ready to confront the situation head-on.
As long as Grandma didn’t suffer any losses, that was fine.
“They are villagers from our village,” Wang Jinhe replied when Su Yu asked about the group’s identity.
Wang Jinhe’s expression turned cold as she looked at Jiang Shi and said, “She’s the one who wanted to kill me back then. Even when Grandma and others knelt down to beg for mercy, she continued to incite trouble.”
Su Yu glanced at Jiang Shi, his eyes filled with a hint of murderous intent. So, it was this old woman?
“I understand,” Su Yu nodded, indicating that he understood the situation.
Wang Jinhe was surprised by Su Yu’s reaction. She looked at him and cautioned, “What are you planning? Please don’t do anything rash.”
Su Yu nodded with a smile and reassured her, “Don’t worry, I won’t do anything. I just want them to pay the price they deserve for their actions. I’ll have Yuanbao look into it.”
Wang Jinhe still seemed a bit skeptical as she gazed at Su Yu. “Are you really not planning anything?”
“I really have no intention of doing anything harmful. I just want them to face the consequences,” Su Yu replied.
Wang Jinhe was momentarily taken aback. Did Su Yu really consider this as not doing anything?
“Don’t go too far,” she cautioned.
“Don’t worry. She made Grandma kneel and beg for mercy back then. Now, we’ll make her kneel and beg for mercy. Isn’t that fair?” Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe and said with a smile.
Wang Jinhe knew that this matter was a bottom line for Su Yu. He wouldn’t spare anyone who was involved in hurting their family in the past.
As long as they didn’t appear in front of them, it was fine. But if they did, this person might take direct action.
Jiang Shi looked somewhat panicked as she stared at Su Yu. “Who do you think you are? Just because you say you can do it means you can?”
“Then we’ll wait and see. If you don’t want trouble from me, don’t come and bother us. Yuanbao, please escort our guests.”
“If they refuse to leave, just throw them out,” Su Yu added.
Yuan bao chuckled silently as he looked at Su Yu. This was indeed their young master. It seemed like these people were in for some trouble.
Jiang Shi didn’t want to leave and wondered what Su Yu intended to do.
“This matter has already passed for such a long time. Why are you still holding onto it?” Jiang Shi boldly remarked.
Su Yu was infuriated by her words. “Remember what you just said and get lost.”
Su Yu’s presence frightened Jiang Shi, who fled in haste. After seeing her run away like that, Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu with some surprise and asked, “Are you really that intimidating? Why does everyone react as if they’ve encountered a fearsome beast when they see you?”
“Do you think I’m like a fearsome beast?” Su Yu asked Wang Jinhe.
Wang Jinhe just smiled and didn’t say much. Su Yu didn’t press the issue and instead said, “Actually, I never intended to trouble these people.”
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu in surprise for a moment, then replied, “I know.”
Su Yu indeed had no intention of digging up old grudges. At most, he intended to remember these people and not associate with them in any way in the future. After all, these people brought trouble upon themselves by coming to him and complaining.
Especially Jiang Shi, didn’t she understand the nature of their relationship? Even in the current situation, she dared to come and argue. Wasn’t she just asking for trouble?
“You can do whatever you want; we won’t stop you,” Wang Jinhe directly said. Whatever Su Yu wanted to do from now on was his business, and it had nothing to do with them.
Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe discontentedly. “Is this how you support me? Do you think it’s appropriate?”
After giving it serious consideration, Wang Jinhe nodded earnestly. “I think it’s very appropriate.”
“Fine, I can’t argue with you.”
Jiang Shi returned home in a panic, and her son approached her. “Mother, how did it go? Did they agree?”
Jiang Shi glanced at her son and furrowed her brow, saying, “They didn’t agree, and not only that, but it’s possible that the father of Xiao Bao might come to cause trouble for our family. Be careful not to get into any conflicts.”
“What? He actually wants to cause trouble for us? Allowing the Wang family to continue taking care of us in the Xie family’s village is already an act of kindness toward them, and they dare to…” Xie Tao clenched his teeth and spoke.
“They brought up the past during this matter, and now it seems they don’t want to be involved with us. It looks like the thoughts you have might not work,” Jiang Shi said, looking at Jiang Tao with a furrowed brow and a helpless expression.
Xie Tao looked at Jiang Shi with a dissatisfied expression. It seemed his mother had absolutely no ability.
“Mother, we must make this happen. Only then can our family’s life get better and better. Don’t you want to live a wealthy life?” Xie Tao said to Jiang Shi seriously.
Jiang Shi glanced at her son with some helplessness and said, “Who wouldn’t want to live a wealthy life? But it’s not as simple as just saying we want it. Son, Xiao Bao’s father doesn’t seem easy to get along with, and he’s really intimidating. You shouldn’t…”
“Enough, it seems like you’re just timid. What’s all this talk about being intimidated?” Jiang Shi wanted to say more, but when she saw Xie Tao’s indifferent attitude, she ended up not saying anything. She knew that only when her son encountered that person would he truly understand if what she said was true.
She sighed heavily and said, “I’ve told you everything you need to know, and if you don’t believe me, there’s nothing more I can do.”
Xie Tao sneered and looked at Jiang Shi with disgust. “You really are useless. You couldn’t handle anything, a few years ago, and you’re still the same now. What’s the point of keeping you around?”
