“Are you daft? We’re discussing matters, and you choose to linger at the door like a statue? Why not come in and find a seat instead of standing outside?” Wang Jinhe shot Su Yu a look, questioning why he hadn’t joined them inside.
“What are you saying, Xiao He?” Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe helplessly, slightly exasperated by her behavior.
“In plain terms, take a seat. You heard our discussion earlier. Do you have any opinions to share?” Wang Jinhe asked Su Yu.
“I can recommend a few trustworthy and capable individuals from my side,” Su Yu promptly offered.
For his wife’s sake, even if he didn’t want to, he would send all the people she desired.
Wang Jinhe nodded in satisfaction. “That’s good. Once everything is ready on my end, bring them over, and I’ll discuss the details with them.”
“Great. What are your plans next?” Su Yu asked with interest.
Wang Jinhe retrieved the remaining sketches and, after reviewing them, couldn’t help but feel a bit surprised.
“Xiao He, were you trying to hide these from me? You were keeping so many good things hidden,” Su Yu teased.
Giving Su Yu a look, Wang Jinhe wondered if he even understood what he was saying. He certainly had a way with words.
Playfully patting Su Yu on the shoulder, Wang Jinhe retorted, “I was discussing something important with you.”
Did Su Yu think she could keep things from him?
She had even shared about her lingquan water with Su Yu. Would she really hide something like this?
What was he thinking?
Su Yu nodded with a smile. He had simply made a casual remark.
Among all those around Wang Jinhe, he was the one who knew her best.
Even the unspoken secret of the lingquan spring had been shared with him.
“Let’s continue. Following your sketches, I will have each set made meticulously and then send them over to Persia,” Su Yu spoke with a profound look in his eyes.
This wasn’t the first time Wang Jinhe had heard Su Yu mention Persia.
“I’ve heard you mention it several times. Have you been there yourself?”
“I’ve been twice. It’s a long journey, and the travel by ship takes a considerable amount of time,” Su Yu explained to Wang Jinhe.
“Are the people there blond and blue-eyed?” Wang Jinhe couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity.
“Yes, they are. They are wealthy but lead rugged lives.”
“Our goods are just what they need. Once we transport them over, making money will be just a matter of time,” Su Yu mentioned, triggering some other thoughts.
Before leaving the capital, he had received news from his subordinates returning from Persia, mentioning they had brought back many valuable items.
He hadn’t had the chance to go and retrieve them yet.
“Are you planning to turn these toys into collectibles and sell them at a high price in Persia?” Wang Jinhe asked curiously.
“Not at the moment.”
“That works too.”
Lin Zixun and Wan Feng listened attentively, occasionally sharing their own thoughts.
Half an hour later, Wan Feng and Lin Zixun left, fearing the young master might resort to violence if they stayed any longer.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you to get some good stuff,” Su Yu said, leading Wang Jinhe out of the mansion to another area in the capital where the houses were luxurious, almost screaming, “I’m wealthy!”
Looking at the glistening mansion, Wang Jinhe’s mouth twitched as she remarked, “Who has such a taste? Wouldn’t having this much gold make it hard to sleep at night?”
Moreover, the color was too glaring.
“I told him too; he believes this color enhances his charm,” Su Yu remarked.
Wang Jinhe looked at Su Yu speechlessly. Enhancing charm or being taken for a fool?
“You’ll understand once you meet him.”
Upon seeing the host, Wang Jinhe was genuinely surprised.
The man was overweight, quite ordinary-looking, and his attire…
Well, he resembled the God of Wealth in his dressing.
Every aspect of his appearance seemed to scream, “I’m wealthy.”
“Xiao He, this is He Le. We all call him ‘Pangzi.’ Pangzi, this is my wife, Wang Jinhe.”
“Hello, sister-in-law. Just call me Pangzi like everyone else does,” He Le said cheerfully.
“Alright.”
“Boss Su, you’re so inconsiderate. I was away in Persia for a few years, and when I return, you’re already married with four children. When can I meet my nephews?” They all knew Su Yu treated his adopted son as his own, and they held the child in high regard.
“In a few days. We’ll all get together then.”
“No problem.”
“By the way, boss, I brought back many gemstones from there. They were going for a steal, but they looked so beautiful that I couldn’t resist buying some.” He Le spoke up.
Although he hadn’t thought of any immediate use for these stones, he believed his clever boss would know what to do with them.
“What kind of stones are they? Can I have a look?” Wang Jinhe suddenly had an idea.
“Of course.” He Le went to fetch a large box.
Observing He Le carry the box effortlessly without even a stumble, Wang Jinhe realized he likely possessed martial skills.
“There are several more boxes, but none are as good as these. Sister-in-law, feel free to browse through and take any you like.”
Upon opening the box, Wang Jinhe was nearly dazzled by what she saw.
Diamonds, in various colors and sizes, some quite large.
“So many diamonds.”
“These stones are called diamonds? They’re indeed very hard. But what are they used for?” Pangzi asked, intrigued.
Su Yu also looked curiously at Wang Jinhe, seeming to inquire about their potential uses.
Seeing Wang Jinhe’s excitement, it appeared she was familiar with these stones, otherwise, she wouldn’t be so thrilled.
“Diamonds are the best materials for making jewelry.”
“For jewelry? Are they as appealing as jade and other gemstones? I’ve spent a fortune on those.”
He had bought a lot even for just a hundred taels.
He couldn’t even find top-quality jade jewelry.
“You lack taste. Once I return, I’ll sketch some designs for you. After you produce the finished pieces, you’ll realize how poor your judgment is.”
“That sounds good. When we sell them, we split the profits fifty-fifty. Sister-in-law, I’ve heard you have quite a few treasures. Could you spare me some?” He had just returned and already heard about the wealth his boss possessed.
Since the boss was offering today, he couldn’t forgive himself for not seizing this opportunity to find something valuable.
“You can collect them from the mansion later.”
“Thank you, sister-in-law.”
Wang Jinhe gazed at a pink diamond, as large as a baby’s fist—an exquisite gem.
“Do you like it?”
“There’s no woman who doesn’t like diamond jewelry.” After speaking, she realized the significant generation gap between her and Su Yu—perhaps he wouldn’t understand.
“I’ll explain it to you when we return, and then you’ll understand.”
“Alright.” Su Yu suddenly grasped that these diamonds might be something girls in Xiao He’s world would appreciate.
“Sister-in-law, if you like, pick a few to take back and enjoy.”
Wang Jinhe was pleasantly surprised. “Am I really allowed to choose?”
These were valuable items, and Pangzi was exceedingly generous.
