Qiu Chan listened attentively to Wang Jinhe’s advice, feeling warmly reassured, “Miss, rest assured, I understand.”
“Mmm,” Wang Jinhe was most concerned about Qiu Chan, who tended to keep her thoughts to herself. She worried that after getting married, Qiu Chan might hold everything inside, unwilling to speak up about any concerns.
This could lead to unnecessary misunderstandings between the couple.
“The most important thing between spouses is trust. If you encounter any issues, talk to Lin Zixun directly instead of keeping everything to yourself and overthinking,” Wang Jinhe said earnestly.
Qiu Chan looked at Wang Jinhe in amusement, “Miss, why don’t you give Qiu Yi the same advice?”
“Because Qiu Yi is lively and outspoken. She tends to express herself directly, unlike you, who tends to keep things bottled up inside without saying a word,” Wang Jinhe remarked, giving Qiu Chan a playful but scolding look.
Qiu Chan cleared her throat, feeling a bit embarrassed that Miss had been reminding her for this reason.
“Miss, rest assured, I won’t behave like that in the future. You can trust me completely,” Qiu Chan promised sincerely.
While it might be manageable if it were just her, after marriage, it would involve both partners. It would indeed be troublesome if she continued to keep things to herself.
Miss and Young Master were like that—they would communicate directly. There had never been any lingering conflicts overnight. Usually, conflicts were resolved by Young Master even before they escalated.
“Miss, with you and Young Master setting an example for us, we will surely lead a happy life,” Su Yu expressed that the dynamic between Wang Jinhe and Su Yu was something they admired the most.
Having spent so much time with Wang Jinhe, she had indeed learned a lot.
“The groom is here.” Just as Wang Jinhe was about to say something else, a voice was heard from outside.
Even though Qiu Chan’s status was that of her maid, there were no shortcuts in the procedures.
The same applied to Yuan Bao on the other side.
However, Yuan Bao’s situation was evidently more perilous compared to Lin Zixun’s side. It seemed like Yuan Xu and the others were constantly putting Yuan Bao in difficult situations.
After seeing off Qiu Chan and the others, Wang Jinhe went over to where Qiu Yi was. She chuckled softly as she observed Yuan Bao looking ferocious, and said in a low voice, “Yuan Bao, today is your wedding day. You can’t be angry.”
Yuan Xu, who was nearby trying to join in the fun, nodded in agreement, “Madam is right. Getting angry on your wedding day? Yuan Bao, you’re not that petty, are you?”
Yuan Bao shot Yuan Xu a disgruntled look and replied, “Don’t worry, when it’s your turn to get married, I won’t go easy on you either.”
“We don’t know when we’ll get married. Let’s talk about that later,” Yuan Xu waved his hand dismissively.
Having been recovering from an injury recently, he couldn’t afford to miss out on something so enjoyable.
Yuan Bao took a deep breath, seething with anger.
Even though injured, he couldn’t resist causing a stir. This troublemaker.
Watching Yuan Bao in that state, Yuan Xu couldn’t help but burst into laughter, “Yuan Bao, it’s your turn today.”
“Be careful not to let too much joy turn into sorrow.”
Yuan Xu, leaning on his cane, walked over, but for some reason, it seemed like he tripped suddenly. If Yuan Lin hadn’t been there to support him, he would have fallen to the ground.
Given Yuan Xu’s current physical condition, a fall would have been troublesome.
“See what I mean? Too much joy can lead to sorrow, right?” Yuan Bao remarked, finding amusement in the situation.
“Wang Jinhe pointed inside the house and said helplessly, ‘Yuan Bao, if you don’t hurry up, time will slip away, and the matchmaker won’t be able to leave,'” which instantly revived Yuan Bao. Of course, this revival was also aided by Su Yu’s discreet assistance.
Initially, Yuan Lin and the others hadn’t noticed anything amiss. However, after Yuan Bao repeatedly succeeded in the tasks, they realized that Yuan Bao had Su Yu’s guidance.
“Young Master doesn’t do what you’re doing.”
Su Yu glanced at the other party but remained silent.
Was he there to help them, not Yuan Bao?
Yuan Xu remarked, “Expecting Young Master to choose between Yuan Bao and you all is simply absurd.”
How crucial Yuan Bao was in Su Yu’s heart, they all knew that, right?
Hoping that Young Master would assist them was like a fantasy.
“It seems we’ve miscalculated.” They shouldn’t have let Young Master come over today.
One person, with a determined gaze, stared at Wang Jinhe and said, “Madam, could you take Young Master away for a while? It won’t be for long, just half an hour would be enough.”
“That’s not possible. Have your fun and games, but don’t waste time,” Wang Jinhe replied firmly.
“Madam, rest assured, we won’t waste any time,” they assured her.
They continued to tease Yuan Bao until it was almost time, finally letting him go.
Yuan Bao rubbed his temples, feeling that if this continued, he might lose control and lash out.
Su Yu stood beside Wang Jinhe and remarked, “They sure are full of antics. Thankfully, when we got married, no one bothered me, except for the drinking.”
Apart from drinking, it seemed like no one bothered him back then.
Moreover, the ones he drank with were from his own side.
His in-laws never engaged in such antics.
Wang Jinhe patted Su Yu’s shoulder and said, “So, you should be grateful to my parents and my brother for not causing you trouble like this.”
It was probably only Su Yu himself who could bring a wife home so easily.
Su Yu nodded in agreement, “Xiao He, you’re right. I feel the same way.”
“So, I will treat my in-laws and grandparents very well in the future,” Su Yu said earnestly.
Apart from the Empress Dowager, only Gu Jiuning could make him feel a motherly warmth.
“Of course, if you don’t treat grandma and them well, I won’t agree,” Wang Jinhe asserted.
“Alright, I’ll follow your lead.” A husband must listen to his wife.
Watching Yuan Bao finally lead the bride away, Wang Jinhe chuckled, “Poor Yuan Bao. I think Yuan Lin and the others were teasing him so much because they’re all still single, while Yuan Bao is about to get married.”
Su Yu nodded in agreement, “I think the same. They are probably just envious and jealous.”
Yuan Lin and the others approached Su Yu, saying, “Young Master, we are indeed envious and jealous.”
Silence followed between Wang Jinhe and her husband.
Why does it feel like they’ve been bullying someone?
“Su Yu, it seems like we haven’t been bullying anyone, right?” Wang Jinhe cleared her throat and spoke up.
“Yeah, we haven’t done anything,” Su Yu nodded in agreement.
Wang Jinhe gestured helplessly towards them, indicating her own powerlessness in the situation.
“For the sake of you single guys, how about I take you all with me to the workshop next time?” It’s just that the status of the girls in the workshop is a bit lower.
In Wang Jinhe’s eyes, even an ordinary young lady from their family could be married off.
“No need for that, Madam. We were just kidding around,” Yuan Lin and Yuan Xu kept waving their hands.
