Nan Qiao spoke the most cruel words in the most innocent and obedient tone.
Su Yu didn’t intervene, which Nan Qiao found delightfully sinister. “Brother Yu agreed, didn’t he?”
In Nan Qiao’s eyes, as long as Su Yu didn’t refuse, it meant he agreed.
Nan Qiao looked at Bai Qi and Wan Gu. “Can you two create a cold poison? This way, we can let Hou Shijie experience firsthand what it feels like.”
Didn’t they want to know what it’s like when the cold poison takes effect? Then let him experience it thoroughly.
Wouldn’t he be happy after experiencing it?
“Simple.” For Wan Gu, creating cold poison was as easy as it could get. Making it was quite straightforward.
Hou Jiaqin looked up at Wan Gu, enduring the pain of the gu poison, and asked, “Who are you?”
A simple question, yet incredibly difficult for Hou Jiaqin.
“Xing Qian,” Wan Gu replied coldly, looking down at the person on the ground.
The name “Xing Qian” completely dumbfounded Hou Jiaqin.
He never expected the youngest disciple of the divine physician to be by Su Yu’s side.
“Why are you helping him?” Xing Qian was someone many factions sought after.
But he disappeared several years ago.
No one knew where he had gone.
Some even said he was dead.
And that he had poisoned himself to death while experimenting with toxins.
Now, seeing Xing Qian standing perfectly fine in front of him, Hou Jiaqin knew this matter wasn’t so simple.
“What’s it to you?” Why he followed Su Yu, did he need to explain that to him?
“You…”
“Nan Qiao, it seems there are still some issues with your gu poison, otherwise, why would he be like this?”
It was a bit strange that after being poisoned by the gu poison, he could still speak during its onset.
“You can suspect me, but don’t doubt my precious insects,” Nan Qiao retorted, looking displeased at Bai Qi.
Bai Qi glanced down at the person on the ground, pursing his lips. “Then you tell me what’s going on here.”
“He’s just barely holding on. Did you really think he could endure it so well?” Nan Qiao sneered.
From the look on this person’s face, it was clear he was at his limit.
Forcing it wouldn’t work, and whatever he was enduring now would eventually backlash on him.
Bai Qi carefully examined Hou Jiaqin, realizing that Nan Qiao’s gu insect was indeed much more formidable than the Nanjiang King’s.
With a sympathetic glance, he said, “Nan Qiao’s gu insects are much more powerful than those from the Nanjiang.”
With Bai Qi’s words, Hou Jiaqin suddenly recalled why Nan Qiao seemed so familiar.
This person turned out to be the young prince of the Nanjiang. Hou Jiaqin had seen him several years ago.
Back then, Nan Qiao was nothing like he is now.
At that time, he exuded an aura of darkness and disregarded everyone.
How much time had passed? Hou Jiaqin never expected him to become like this.
This Nan Qiao appeared so obedient, almost like a neighbor’s child.
Only those who truly knew Nan Qiao understood how terrifying he truly was.
“The young prince of the Nanjiang, disciple of the divine physician.”
Su Yu glanced at Nan Qiao, who, although displeased, had controlled to quiet down the gu insect.
As the gu insect calmed down, Hou Jiaqin’s complexion gradually returned to normal.
“Su Yu, what kind of luck do you have? How can you make these people follow you?”
Luo Yan, Bai Qi, and Luo Hou , he knew them all. Each of them, when taken individually, commanded respect.
Yet, these people, often regarded as lunatics, all obeyed Su Yu’s words.
“You should have had better options, yet you chose to help Su Yu,” Hou Jiaqin said, looking disappointed at Bai Qi and the others.
Bai Qi and his companions shrugged, remaining silent.
Better options? Would those people treat them as well as Brother Yu does?
Since joining Brother Yu, they’ve been living the life they want every day.
By Brother Yu’s side, no one looks at them with eyes that treat them like monsters.
They also enjoy being together.
If they were with someone else, would they still receive such treatment?
The answer is no.
Their abilities, their backgrounds, destined them to not be able to get along well with others.
Only the atmosphere in Brother Yu’s household can make them so happy.
“What ignorant fools,” Luo Hou sneered at Hou Jiaqin.
“Do those idiots even deserve our loyalty?”
If it were someone else, they would have killed them outright. They are lunatics, and lunatics don’t listen to reason.
They only suppress their thorns in front of Brother Yu. As for how others treat them, what does it matter to them?
“Lu Empire is your best destination, especially for you, Luo Yan. After all, you’re originally from Lu Empire.”
For someone from Lu Empire to support the prince of Xuan Empire, in broader terms, it’s considered treason for Luo Yan.
If you were to ask Luo Yan what he detests the most, it would undoubtedly be someone lecturing him, especially someone familiar insisting that he owes loyalty to Lu Empire just because of his origins.
With his foot pressing down on Hou Jiaqin’s chest, Luo Yan looked down at him with cold eyes, disdainfully smiling. “You really disappoint me.”
“Don’t you know I have grievances with Lu Empire? What does Lu Empire have to do with me?” Hou Jiaqin endured the pain as he looked up at Luo Yan’s calm expression.
The quiet demeanor of Luo Yan is unsettling.
“Luo Yan, don’t kill him. We can still make use of him,” Su Yu suddenly spoke up.
Frowning, Luo Yan looked at the person on the ground. “What use does Brother Yu see in keeping him?”
“Of course, it’s to serve as a warning to Lu Empire,” Su Yu said with a smile.
Su Yu’s smile was the favorite of Nan Qiao and the others, but to Hou Jiaqin, it was a smile of doom.
“Young Master, are you planning to send Hou Jiaqin back to Lu Empire?” Yuan Bao asked curiously from the side.
Su Yu nodded with a smile. “After being away from Lu Empire for so many years, I’m sure you must be longing to return. Rest assured, I will have someone send your entire family back.”
Since he extended his reach so far, he had to be prepared for his claws to be cut off.
He was never a saintly figure, nor did he understand the concept of repaying kindness with kindness.
He only knew that those who dared to provoke him would be dealt with directly.
“That sounds like a plan.”
“Yin Fan and the others have been traveling between Xuan Empire and Lu Empire recently. After they return this time, have Yin Fan come to see me.”
“Yes, Young Master.”
Su Yu glanced at Hou Jiaqin who is now on the ground, his face devoid of any extra expression.
“I’ll take my leave now. As for the matter of the cold poison, make sure his beloved son gets a taste of it too,” Su Yu said casually.
Nan Qiao paused for a moment, then burst into excitement. “Indeed, Brother Yu is the most vengeful and protective.”
Xiao Bao is Brother Yu’s beloved son. With Xiao Bao poisoned, how could there be no reaction when facing the culprit?
It turns out he was waiting here.
Suddenly, Nan Qiao seemed to realize something and turned to the person beside him with a suspicious look. “Did Brother Yu trick me?”
Bai Qi glanced at Nan Qiao. Indeed, after coming to Brother Yu’s side, Nan Qiao had turned into a fool.
