It’s unlikely that making the antidote pills will be an instant success, so it’s good to prepare more herbs.
“Thank you, Father.”
“Why be polite with me?” The head of the Ming family waved his hand.
Su Yu and Wang Jinhe had been very kind to their family, so now that they needed help, he naturally couldn’t forget their kindness.
After receiving the Seven Star Seeds, Ming Wanning and Su Jiu left the capital directly for the Xie Family Village.
When they arrived, Yuan Bao had already taken action against the Hou Family, leaving them in a desperate situation.
Wang Jinhe was somewhat surprised to see Su Jiu and Ming Wanning come over. “Big Brother, Ningning, why are you here?”
“Xiao Yu wrote back to the Emperor asking about the herbs, and when the Emperor found them, he asked me to bring them over and help clean up the Hou Family,” Su Jiu briefly explained their reason for coming over.
Wang Jinhe looked gratefully at Su Jiu. “Big Brother, thank you for your trouble.”
“Why be polite with us? Xiao Bao is our nephew. If he’s in trouble, it’s only right for us to help. Where is Xiao Bao?”
“He hasn’t been feeling well lately, resting in his room,” Wang Jinhe said with a hint of worry between her brows.
Since Su Yu and the others left, Xiao Bao’s health had not been good. Wan Gu and Bai Qi spent every day in the Medicine room, researching antidotes and trying to make Xiao Bao more comfortable.
“Let’s go see Xiao Bao,” Su Jiu said, heading with Ming Wanning to Xiao Bao’s room.
When they arrived, Xiao Bao was lying in bed, with a chill in the air around him.
Seeing Xiao Bao like this, Ming Wanning’s eyes were filled with worry. “Is there no solution at all?”
“At first, Nan Qiao used his insects to suppress the cold toxin in Xiao Bao, but for some reason, Xiao Bao’s condition worsened again. It’s been like this for the past two days. Wan Gu and Bai Qi are already working on it,” Wang Jinhe said, rubbing her forehead with a hint of helplessness in her voice.
She was very worried about Xiao Bao’s current condition, afraid that they wouldn’t make it in time.
“What about Xiao Yu and the others?”
“Su Yu and Nan Qiao went to the Nanjiang to get the Red Fire Lotus from the King of the Nanjiang. The other herbs are still being gathered.”
“Except for the Red Fire Lotus, we have found most of the herbs. Only the last two are left. Go and call Wan Gu and Bai Qi, ask them if they have these two herbs.”
“Alright.” Wang Jinhe’s eyes lit up at the thought of only needing two more herbs.
She hurried to the medicine room to find Wan Gu and Bai Qi.
“Wan Gu, Bai Qi, Big Brother brought the herbs over. He said we’re only missing two types. Come quickly and take a look,” Wang Jinhe said, leading them to find Su Jiu.
After examining all the herbs brought by Su Jiu, Wan Gu’s eyes lit up with joy. “Great! The other two herbs were sent to us by our master a few days ago. Now, we just need the Red Fire Lotus from the Nanjiang.”
Bai Qi also hadn’t expected that Su Jiu would manage to gather almost all the herbs so quickly.
“We have plenty of these herbs. Let’s see if we can make some medicine to suppress the cold toxin,” Bai Qi suggested.
“Bai Qi, Wan Gu, thank you both for your trouble,” since Su Yu and the others left, Wan Gu and Bai Qi had been the busiest, constantly watching over Xiao Bao to prevent any accidents.
“Don’t be polite, Sister-in-law,” Wan Gu replied.
“Don’t be so polite with us.”
“Okay.”
Wan Gu and Bai Qi took the herbs and went back into the medicine room. Meanwhile, Ming Wanning stayed behind to chat with Wang Jinhe, while Su Jiu went to find Yuan Bao.
“Why are you here, Young Master?” Yuan Bao was discussing matters concerning the Hou Family with Lin Zixun and others when he saw Su Jiu approaching, feeling somewhat surprised.
“I’ve come to deliver herbs for Xiao Bao. How are things going here?”
“Things are fine on our end. There are still people helping out at the Hou Family, and we’ve gathered all the evidence,” Yuan Bao said, showing Su Jiu all the evidence they had collected from the Hou Family.
After examining the evidence, Su Jiu nodded. “Gather the soldiers from the granary and head directly to the Hou Family.”
Yuan Bao looked at Su Jiu in surprise. “We’re going directly there?”
“Before I left the capital, the Emperor had already instructed us to deal with the Hou Family together.”
“Understood.”
Yuan Bao hurried to gather the soldiers from the granary, while Su Jiu carefully examined the evidence. Over the years, the Hou Family had been involved in quite a lot of wrongdoing. With a slightly cold gaze, Su Jiu couldn’t help but feel that the reach of the Lu Empire was far too extensive.
“What other instructions does Xiao Yu have?” Su Jiu asked Lin Zixun.
“Young Master asked the Young Master of the Lou Family to investigate the spies from the Lu Empire and said to send all of Lu’s people back.” As for how to send them back, Lin Zixun didn’t need to say it; Su Jiu understood his meaning.
After all the suffering Xiao Bao had endured, how could Su Yu let those responsible get away?
That evening, Lou Manqing arrived at Xie Family Village looking weary from his journey. As soon as he arrived, he wanted to go see Xiao Bao. “I’ll go check on Xiao Bao.”
Seeing Xiao Bao lying on the bed with his eyes tightly closed, Lou Manqing’s eyes darkened with anger.
“Damn Lu Empire, how dare they do this to Xiao Bao.” When Lou Manqing received the message from Su Yu, he initially didn’t believe it. However, while investigating Lu Empire, he rushed over as fast as he could. Now, seeing Xiao Bao lying there lifeless, like a rag doll, filled him with rage.
After tucking Xiao Bao in, Lou Manqing went out to find Luo Hou and Luo Yan.
“How many people can you gather from Luo Hou’s side?” Lou Manqing asked as he looked at the two.
“All the people from Forget Sorrow City can be called upon,” Luo Hou replied.
“Good, gather your people, and after we discuss, we’ll figure out how to deal with Lu Empire’s people,” Lou Manqing said in a cold tone.
Luo Hou looked at Lou Manqing in surprise. “You already have news?”
“Of course, I naturally brought some good news with me when I came.”
“I’ll go find people right away,” he said before leaving.
When he returned, he brought along quite a few people.
With everyone gathered, Lou Manqing shared all the information he had gathered. “Take a look first, and then we’ll discuss.”
After Luo Hou and the others finished reviewing the information, their brows furrowed, especially Luo Yan.
“Lu Empire actually has so many spies in Xuan Empire. This is not a good sign,” Luo Yan said with concern.
It was only at this moment that Luo Yan understood why his brother was so determined to wipe out all the people from Lu Empire.
“These are just some of them. There are still others I haven’t found yet. Let’s deal with these people first. Once we’ve taken care of them, the rest should come out too,” Lou Manqing said as he looked at them.
“Agreed.”
Everyone began to divide tasks. With ten people in each group and their respective areas of responsibility planned out, they informed Wang Jinhe and then all left Xie Family Village.
They’ve been here for so long, and their relationship with Xiao Bao is very good. Those bastards actually dare to lay a hand on him. They should pay the price for it.
While Lou Manqing and the others dealt with the spies, Su Jiu led his men to Hou’s residence.
The old master of the Hou family looked at Su Jiu and his men as they barged into the residence, his voice stern and angry. “Who are you people? How dare you barge into the Hou residence!”
“Su Jiu.”
