Does Xie Rongzhuo mean he’s willing to teach her???
If Zhong Guangpu is a legend in the investment world, then Xie Rongzhuo is the next candidate for the “God” position. He holds the most powerful buyers in the world, has a complex and stable information network, and for a newbie like Shen Mi, being able to get some guidance from Xie Rongzhuo could save her at least ten years of detours.
Shen Mi couldn’t control her excitement: “I will definitely learn from you.”
As if anticipating her next move, Xie Rongzhuo put on his glasses: “I don’t take apprentices.”
This statement brought Shen Mi back to four years ago.
At that time, she had clung to her master’s leg, wanting to become his apprentice, and he had said the same thing.
But later, she insisted on calling him that, and her master had no choice but to accept it gradually.
In other circumstances, Shen Mi would say: “In my heart, you are my master!”
But this was a serious office, and she was facing the powerful boss who held life and death in his hands.
Shen Mi maintained her elegance and poise: “Then I’ll trouble you.”
Xie Rongzhuo lifted his eyelids, his gaze fixed on her face, not missing any of her subtle expressions. The probing look seemed to question whether her calm demeanor was all just an act.
Shen Mi curled the corners of her mouth, boldly meeting his scrutinizing gaze, keeping her expression steady without giving anything away.
After two seconds, Xie Rongzhuo shifted his gaze away, a barely noticeable smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
Shen Mi: “…”
Sometimes she really wondered if she had offended Xie Rongzhuo somehow.
Otherwise, why was the mockery in his eyes and brows so blatant?
But Xie Rongzhuo’s behavior over this period didn’t seem like he was targeting her. He had taken her to meet clients and never made her drink. Especially during the incident at the real estate company, when she was bullied by Ou Xiaopeng, it was obvious to anyone with eyes that Xie Rongzhuo was backing her up.
He had also bought her clothes and luxury bags. Later, when Shen Mi saw other secretaries beside the partners, she realized everyone was wearing decent “battle armor” for the workplace. Xie Rongzhuo was afraid she would be outdone by them.
While it was also a matter of his face, it wasn’t really his own reputation at stake. He could have perfectly asked her to dress according to the standard at her own expense, or even replaced her if she couldn’t comply.
If all of the above didn’t count as a good boss who cared for his subordinates, then there were no good bosses in the world.
So maybe Xie Rongzhuo was just naturally a bit sarcastic?
Yeah, that must be it.
Seeing that she was still standing there, Xie Rongzhuo looked up: “Anything else?”
“Yes.”
Shen Mi kept a straight face and asked, “Do you have Miss Zhao’s contact information?”
Although Zhao Bai Li came to pick a fight, compared to those other strange women in the past who would curse without any reason, she was considered a very polite and civilized “catch-a-cheater” heroine.
She angrily came to make trouble for her, this “fox spirit”, but was kicked out by Xie Rongzhuo. She might not be able to sleep tonight because of anger.
Since she had already understood the situation, and it was indeed her fault, Shen Mi thought it was necessary to apologize to Zhao Bai Li and then draw a clear line with Zhong Xu. She couldn’t get the contact information from Zhong Xu, otherwise, it would be even more difficult to explain.
“Xie Rongzhuo: “No.”
He clearly didn’t want to give it.
Shen Mi understood and didn’t ask further.
“Did you offend the daughter of the chairman of the partner company?”
Zhang Zhiqing comforted Shen Mi on the phone: “It’s okay, don’t be afraid, you can just go work at my uncle’s company.”
“But I don’t want her to keep misunderstanding.”
Shen Mi was a little troubled. She heard that Zhao Bai Li’s father was very close to Xie Rongzhuo. If Xie Rongzhuo heard any gossip someday and misunderstood that she was interfering in someone else’s relationship, it would be troublesome.
Zhang Zhiqing said: “I think your boss is right not to give you his contact information.”
Shen Mi continued the call as she entered the elevator.
She used the special elevator that Xie Rongzhuo used to receive clients. There was no one inside: “Why do you say that?”
“Don’t all green tea homewreckers say that?” Zhang Zhiqing cleared her throat and imitated a voice: “Brother, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault for making my sister angry. I’ll go explain to her for you.”
Shen Mi: “…”
“If you go explain now, will she believe you? Maybe she’ll think you’re the green tea one.”
“Then I, do nothing?”
Shen Mi’s mind wasn’t on romance, she had never been in a relationship, and she had never caught a homewrecker. Dealing with this kind of situation, she completely lost her judgment and direction: “Will that work?”
“I think it depends on the person. A clear-headed, rational girl knows right from wrong and will judge who is at fault. If you encounter someone who’s not clear-headed, who’s obsessed with love, and is being manipulated by the guy, no matter what you say, it’s useless. You might even be attacked by both of them.”
Shen Mi pursed her lips: “I understand.”
“I haven’t even said anything yet, what do you understand?”
Shen Mi stepped out of the elevator and took a breath of fresh air outside.
“Men are all trouble, must not get involve with them.”
Just as she was about to continue, she suddenly saw a man coming out of the revolving door next to her.
“…”
It was her bad luck again.
Her chances of running into her boss were way too high!
Xie Rongzhuo also noticed her. He continued his phone call, his eyelids drooping slightly, his gaze naturally falling on her.
The familiar three parts of mockery, three parts of indifference, and a few parts of unnamed emotions of natural arrogance were still there.
He happened to be walking towards her. When he got closer, Shen Mi pointed at her phone and explained without a trace: “My friend’s boyfriend, he always makes her angry.”
Even she could feel how distorted her smile was.
Xie Rongzhuo calmly looked at her for a few seconds, then withdrew his gaze and lowered his head to look at his phone.
Good, she was ignored.
Being ignored by him wasn’t really a big deal, but why was he standing there and not leaving?
Xie Rongzhuo glanced at Shen Mi again, still not speaking, letting her little awkwardness linger in the air.
“…Huh, Old Zhou hasn’t come yet?”
Shen Mi pretended to be nonchalant and turned her head to look at the roadside, trying to ease the awkwardness: “Should I call him to hurry him up?”
Xie Rongzhuo slowly lifted his eyelids and said pointedly: “Not afraid of trouble?”
Shen Mi almost couldn’t hold it in.
She pretended not to understand and kept smiling: “No trouble, I’ll call Old Zhou—”
At this moment, a Rolls-Royce with consecutive license plates pulled up, and Old Zhou got out to open the back door for Xie Rongzhuo.
Shen Mi’s shoulder was brushed by the man as he passed by. Xie Rongzhuo didn’t look at her, bent over and got into the car, and the window was immediately raised.
It was as if it was written with the big words “Coldness.”
Watching the car drive away, Shen Mi’s scalp tingled as she picked up her phone, which was still on call.
“AAAAAH I’m going to die of embarrassment!!!”
“That guy was your boss just now?” Zhang Zhiqing asked curiously: “He sounded like my uncle.”
The voices on the phone can distort, and there are quite a few people who sound similar. For example, Xie Rongzhuo and her master sound a little alike. Now there’s one more, Zhang Zhiqing’s uncle.
Shen Mi was still in a state of embarrassment and casually asked: “Really that similar?”
“The voice is similar, but the tone isn’t.” Zhang Zhiqing complained: “My uncle isn’t that gentle. He talks to me like it’s hailing, one word can kill me three times.”
Shen Mi thought of what Zhang Zhiqing had said about her uncle’s many businesses, including a company in Suicheng: “Qingqing, I want to ask you about someone.”
Zhang Zhiqing: “Who is it?”
Shen Mi: “Do you know Zhao Bai Li from Meina Capital?”
“I know her.” Zhang Zhiqing realized: “Oh, you’re talking about the daughter of the chairman of the partner company?”
Shen Mi: “Yes.”
“Don’t worry!” Zhang Zhiqing’s tone became lighter. “It’s good that it’s her. She’s my cousin by blood.”
Shen Mi: “Can she listen to you?”
“She’s even more love-struck than me. Men’s issues can be solved! But I don’t have her contact information, I’ll ask my uncle for you later.”
“Thank you, Qingqing.”
