Chapter 24: The Missing Little Girl
【Poor grandma, streamer please help her!】
【Everyone, don’t rush to feel sorry. Maybe she’s just pretending to cry for us.
I once heard a story about a little girl who went missing. Her grandma was heartbroken, and everyone pitied her. Guess what happened in the end?
It turned out the granddaughter was secretly buried alive by the grandma.
Because the little girl’s mother didn’t want a second child, but the old lady desperately wanted a grandson, so she took this cruel action.】
【Oh my! That’s so terrifying!】
【Is the person above paranoid? Don’t accuse others without evidence. The toxic online atmosphere is caused by people like you.】
“Tell me what happened first,” Shen Chujin glanced at Chen Xiufen.
Chen Xiufen choked back tears and said, “We live in the countryside. A few days ago, the weather was good, so the family decided to harvest the rice.
Everyone was very busy—some were working in the fields, some were transporting the grain home. I was cooking dinner while watching my granddaughter.
My granddaughter is only five years old, and there’s a yard at home where she was playing.
But when I finished cooking and went to check on her, she was gone.
We searched almost the entire village but couldn’t find her. We reported to the police, and they started searching overnight. But it’s been four whole days now, and there’s no clue…”
At this point, Chen Xiufen couldn’t hold back her tears anymore.
【In my opinion, the grandma is to blame. The granddaughter is only five, yet she let her play alone in the yard. Only someone careless would do that.】
【She’s five, not a baby. You can’t watch her every second. The grandma said she was cooking dinner for the whole family—not just sitting around.】
【Actually, in our countryside, it’s normal for kids to play alone in the yard. Strangers rarely come around, neighbors all know each other well. The yard is big, and kids will happily play with toys or even just dig in the dirt for an hour or two.】
【The kid didn’t scream or call out—maybe it was someone familiar who did it. Hurry up and investigate!】
【But didn’t the police search the whole village? Maybe human traffickers took her. Those traffickers are very skilled, once they get a child, they can send them away in minutes.】
“Master, do you think my granddaughter is still… still alive?”
Chen Xiufen’s voice trembled as she asked.
Shen Chujin asked, “Do you have a photo of your granddaughter?”
“Yes!”
Chen Xiufen turned away briefly but quickly came back holding a photo of the little girl.
In the photo, the girl was hugging a doll, wearing a puffy dress, smiling brightly.
Shen Chujin stared at the photo for a moment, quietly focusing her spiritual energy on it.
During the silence, Chen Xiufen and the viewers watching the live stream held their breath, their hearts pounding in fear of hearing bad news.
“Mom, what are you doing?”
At that moment, a man and a woman appeared behind Chen Xiufen.
The man glanced at the live stream screen, then furrowed his brow.
“Didn’t I tell you not to believe in this kind of nonsense? What are you doing? Can you stop causing trouble?”
【Ah! So frustrating! What’s with this guy’s attitude?】
【Try to understand, maybe he’s upset because his daughter is missing.】
【Even if he’s upset, he shouldn’t say that about his own mother—that’s really hurtful.】
【Sigh, if my son talked to me like that when I’m old, I’d rather strangle him now.】
【Girl, you’re ruthless!】
After speaking, the man tried to grab Chen Xiufen’s phone to turn off the live stream.
“Don’t! Maybe this master can find Lingling,” Chen Xiufen hurriedly protected her phone.
The man shouted angrily, “What master nonsense? She looks younger than me. What kind of master is she? She’s just here to scam your money!”
“Yeah, Mom, the police searched the whole village and couldn’t find her. She hasn’t even been to the scene, and it’s just through a phone—how could she possibly know Lingling’s whereabouts?” The woman standing next to the man also tried to persuade her.
“Well…” Chen Xiufen hesitated.
Her daughter-in-law’s words did make some sense.
How could someone find a child just through a phone?
Actually, she didn’t even know if Shen Chujin could really help.
She was just desperate and grasping at straws.
Today, when she went to pick vegetables in the field, she was so absent-minded that she accidentally fell into a ditch.
It was a young man from the same village who happened to pass by who saved her.
He was one of the few university students from the village, and since it’s summer break, he was staying home to help out.
He knew about their family situation and told her that there was a very skilled master who might be able to help.
The young man downloaded the app for her, helped her register an account, and taught her how to enter the live stream room and grab the lucky red envelopes for connections.
She came with a “just try it” attitude.
Since her granddaughter went missing, she felt very guilty.
Her son and daughter-in-law also blamed her.
She felt very bad inside.
Doing something was better than doing nothing at all.
Just as Chen Xiufen was hesitating whether to listen to her son and daughter-in-law and turn off the live stream, Shen Chujin spoke.
“I have already calculated where your granddaughter is.”
As soon as she said this, all three people on the other side looked at her simultaneously.
“Really?” The man clearly didn’t believe it.
Shen Chujin glanced at him calmly. “Whether it’s true or not, why don’t you go check and see for yourselves?”
After exchanging looks, Chen Xiufen’s daughter-in-law quickly asked, “So where is my daughter now?”
“Not far from you. If you search westward from where you are standing now, you’ll find her.”
“I’m telling you, if you dare to fool us, I won’t let you off!” The man said fiercely.
【Whoa! What kind of person is this? Saying such nasty things.】
【Actually, I can understand. He doesn’t know the streamer’s ability, and he’s desperate to save his daughter, so of course he’s more emotional than usual.】
【Understand? Ha, you understand everything, that’s great~】
【The streamer said ‘not far,’ meaning the little girl is still in the village. But didn’t the police search the whole village and find nothing? Maybe the streamer made a mistake.】
Chen Xiufen went out together with her son and daughter-in-law.
The night was pitch black, and the countryside was eerily quiet.
Occasionally, the sounds of small insects could be heard.
The three of them left the gate and walked along a narrow path toward the front right.
“Wait,”
After walking for a while, Shen Chujin suddenly spoke.
“It’s right behind this house.”
Hearing this, the three immediately ran toward the back of a two-story house in front of them.
Under the faint flashlight beam, they could vaguely see a small chili pepper field on the side of the house.
They hurried along the muddy path between the house and the chili field.
Arriving at the back of the house, all three shone their flashlights forward.
But…
besides the empty vegetable patch, there was nothing.
“Master, you said my granddaughter is here. Why is there no one?” Chen Xiufen asked anxiously.
Shen Chujin looked behind her and said, “Look behind you.”
Chen Xiufen quickly turned around and immediately changed her expression.
Because…
Behind her was only a dark… cesspit!
