Chapter 34: Revenge Achieved
Shen Chujin took out a piece of green jadeite she had previously carved from a raw stone and used her spiritual power to seal the female ghost Qin Xue inside it.
Then she strode out of the house.
Behind her, Zhu Zhipeng and the agent shakily followed.
Together, they went to Qin Xue’s grandmother’s home.
The elderly woman was frail and thin, coughing as she hunched over folding some collected paper boxes.
She lived in the basement of an old and rundown residential complex.
It was damp and dark—hardly a place suitable for living.
Seeing this scene, Qin Xue, who had just come out of the jadeite, immediately began to cry.
But as a ghost, no matter how heartbroken she was, she could not shed tears.
“Grandma…” she murmured, her voice filled with endless longing.
She had lived with her grandmother since she was little.
The grandmother wasn’t her biological grandmother but treated her very well.
She gave everything she had and did her best to raise Qin Xue, insisting on supporting her education.
Even living in such harsh conditions, the grandmother never neglected her.
Her clothes were few and not expensive, but always washed clean.
Every time she came home from school, there was a hot meal waiting for her.
So from a young age, she vowed that when she grew up, she would earn a lot of money to buy her grandmother a big house and many beautiful, clean clothes and delicious food.
But fate always seemed to torment the poor.
Just when she had received her university acceptance letter and was working a summer job to pay tuition, an accident happened!
She could only imagine how heartbroken her grandmother would be after she died, especially in such a way.
Thinking of this, her rage rapidly surged, she wished she could kill those two scumbags who had caused her death right now!
Shen Chujin placed a calming talisman on her body and shook her head.
“The most important thing now is to take your grandmother to the hospital for treatment.”
“But your grandmother doesn’t have much will to live left. However, if you go and persuade her, there might still be a chance.”
“Soon, I’ll make it so you can appear in front of your grandmother like a normal person. The rest is up to you.”
Qin Xue gradually calmed down.
She bowed gratefully to Shen Chujin.
“Thank you!”
Shen Chujin nodded slightly, then gently touched Qin Xue’s forehead with the tip of her right index finger. Her red lips moved softly as she silently chanted a few words.
The next moment, Qin Xue’s body slowly became solid.
Zhu Zhipeng and the agent beside her widened their eyes in disbelief.
Qin Xue quickly walked toward her grandmother.
At first, she walked, then her pace grew faster and faster, finally almost running.
She ran behind her grandmother and hugged her tightly.
The grandmother turned her head in confusion, but when she clearly saw her, she was stunned.
Not with fear, but with joy!
She made a strange noise from her throat, like “uh uh,” while gesturing with her hands.
Her expression was very excited.
It was as if her illness had improved greatly the moment she saw Qin Xue.
Only then did Zhu Zhipeng and the others realize that Qin Xue’s grandmother was actually deaf and mute.
For a moment, Zhu Zhipeng’s feelings of regret and guilt reached their peak.
Sigh, if only back then…
After Qin Xue had talked with the old woman for a while, Zhu Zhipeng stepped forward, and together with the agent helped the old woman into the car.
They went straight to the hospital.
Zhu Zhipeng prepaid the hospitalization fees, and the doctors immediately arranged various tests and scheduled surgery.
After the old woman fell into a deep sleep, the agent left, saying he needed to prepare the house transfer contract for the next day.
Zhu Zhipeng hired a caregiver to take care of the old woman and went back to get some toiletries. He informed his family he would come early the next morning.
During the old woman’s hospital stay, he would accompany and care for her the whole time.
That night.
Inside a prison in the imperial capital.
A bald man with a tattoo on his arm was sleeping soundly, when suddenly he felt a cold breeze.
He pulled the blanket up a little and went back to sleep.
But at that moment, his blanket was suddenly ripped off, and his neck was tightly grabbed by two icy cold hands.
“Cough… cough cough…”
He opened his eyes in discomfort.
Suddenly, he locked eyes with a pair of blood-teary eyes!
Not only that, but the other person’s face was pale as death, dressed in white robes, hair disheveled, floating in mid-air.
Only those hands, as white as bleached bones, were clutching his neck tightly.
He could clearly feel several sharp fingernails piercing into his skin, and hot blood continuously flowing from the wounds.
“Ahhh! Ghost! Ghost!”
The man shouted in terror.
Usually, prison guards would rush over at any noise, but now it was as if no one had heard him.
The man’s heart instantly turned cold.
His face was full of panic. “Don’t kill me, don’t kill me! I have no grudge against you, I beg you to spare me!”
“Heh, no grudge?” Qin Xue sneered coldly.
“Do you remember the girl you and your men raped and killed in front of a jade shop on Old Street three years ago?!”
The man’s pupils trembled violently.
He stared at Qin Xue in disbelief.
“You… you are…”
Qin Xue curled her lips into a cruel smile. “That’s right, it’s me. I’m here… to take your life.”
After she finished speaking, her hands gradually tightened around his neck as the man’s terrified expression deepened.
Just as he was about to suffocate, she suddenly loosened her grip.
The man thought he had escaped death, but the next moment, a chill ran from his head down to his toes.
Because…
“Ahhhhhh!”
Qin Xue directly destroyed his ability to have descendants!
When he was in so much pain that he was on the verge of a mental breakdown, Qin Xue grabbed his neck again.
This time, she didn’t hesitate at all.
She immediately sent him to his death.
The next day.
The prison guards were shocked to discover that two people had died silently inside the prison.
Both died in a tragic way, and the cause of death was exactly the same!
With her great vengeance fulfilled, Qin Xue’s ghostly rage was greatly diminished.
Looking at the elderly person lying on the sickbed, she knelt painfully on the ground and kowtowed three times.
“Sorry, Grandma, I couldn’t take care of you until old age. If there is a next life, I will take care of you then.”
“If you don’t want to leave now, you can wait until your grandma passes away naturally, then you both can go together.”
Leaning by the door, Shen Chujin said softly.
Qin Xue suddenly turned around, both joyful and surprised.
“Really?”
“Really.”
“That’s wonderful!” Qin Xue immediately stood up and ran to Shen Chujin, giving her a big hug. “Thank you, sister!”
She was only seventeen when she died, and Shen Chujin was already twenty, so calling her “sister” wasn’t wrong.
Shen Chujin was almost suffocated by the hug.
She hurriedly pushed her away, “But you can’t maintain human form for long. You only have about one hour each day. Besides your grandma, you can’t randomly interact with other people and disturb the order of the living world.”
“Mm-hmm,” Qin Xue nodded quickly.
“Also, when you go to the underworld, you will still have to endure the tortures of the eighteen levels of hell.”
Even though the people she killed deserved it, killing still means facing the proper punishment.
“Okay, sister.”
As long as she could stay with her grandma a little longer, she was very satisfied.
