Love is Hidden in the Wind: Chapter 38

Chapter 38: Very suitable

In a thrilling zigzag, Xie Bo’s car narrowly avoided colliding with the car rapidly approaching from behind, driven by Li Du.

“Damn!”

Li Du slammed the brakes, the powerful inertia causing Lin Yiwei to jerk forward violently.

The car stopped by the roadside, Li Du panting heavily.

“What are they doing?!” Lin Yiwei exclaimed, still recovering from the shock.

“Who knows,” Li Du frowned, “Master Bo should be driving steadily.”

Fortunately, after the black sports car negotiated a bend, it regained stability, no longer performing the dangerous maneuvers seen earlier.

Li Du kept a certain distance and followed behind them.

Xie Bo shook off Chu Ang’s hand, frowning. “Are you crazy? Trying to grab the steering wheel and go down with me?”

Chu Ang’s eyes showed uncontrollable pain, turning red. He glared fiercely at Xie Bo.

“You’re talking nonsense, she wouldn’t! Absolutely wouldn’t!”

Xie Bo scoffed lightly, a hint of mockery in his eyes. “So in your opinion, her sleeping with other men hurts you more than her dating other men. Chu Ang, do you like her innocence, or do you like a chaste woman?”

Chu Ang erupted in anger, “Xie Bo, what right do you have to say such things?! A playboy like you, what do you know about love?! You understand nothing! You don’t understand that feeling of seeing the most beautiful things in the world and wanting to cherish her with all your heart!”

Xie Bo’s hand subtly tightened on the steering wheel.

Even this idiot Chu Ang dared not speak to him like this, let alone Li Du. Any other person would have been kicked out of the car long ago.

Chu Ang wouldn’t pamper him obediently; he had his own temper and principles in making friends.

Xie Bo preferred to associate with principled people, rather than hangers-on like Chi Xicheng; what was the point?

“I may not understand, and I don’t need to. Everything I want is within my grasp.” He looked calmly ahead, “Because I want her, she’s become my woman, there’s no room for refusal, it’s that simple.”

“But she doesn’t love you,” Chu Ang said coldly. “You can never win someone’s true heart, Xie Bo. Once the aura of ‘Young Master Xie’ fades away, she’ll be like a bird freed from a cage, flying away from you.”

This sentence felt like a cold curse, planted in Xie Bo’s heart.

Several cool sports cars parked at the clubhouse entrance.

As soon as they got out of the car, Lin Yiwei automatically stood next to Chu Ang and took his hand initiative.

Chu Ang was pleasantly surprised and at a loss, his hand shaking badly.

The girl’s hand was soft and tender, something Chu Ang had never felt before, as his life was always rough and solid.

He knew he should shake off those hands. At least, he could do it after the relationship was clear, not in this ambiguous state.

What was he doing like this?

However, Chu Ang didn’t have the determination to shake it off. He let her hold it as if they were really a naive and sweet couple.

Chu Ang’s heart was soaked in honey, exceeding sweetness.

Entering the private room, the two sat in the corner, not ordering songs or food. They whispered quietly, exchanging secrets.

To outsiders, they seemed to be really in love.

Chu Ang opened his QQ space album and showed her photos of their daily training, then showed her his childhood photos.

Lin Yiwei showed great interest, not only listening carefully but also asking many questions—

“Wow, Ang, were you so chubby when you were a child?”

“Yeah.”

“You look good now.”

“Because no girl liked me. I made up my mind to lose weight in high school.”

“I admire everyone who can successfully lose weight. I can’t. I love to eat delicious food, seafood, and everything expensive.”

“You like seafood? I’ll take you to a good place for seafood next time, where you can eat without spending too much.”

“Okay.”

They whispered to each other, occasionally bursting into laughter, as if no matter how many people were around, how noisy it was, in their world, there was only each other.

Lin Yiwei’s eyes inadvertently swept over Xie Bo.

He sat on the sofa, his long legs kicking the soft stool aimlessly.

He had been watching her, all the time.

His amber-like beautiful eyes were deep and bottomless, a lazy charm enveloped his whole body, like a distant and mocking spectator, enjoying the good show she was desperately performing.

Lin Yiwei’s performance traces were indeed heavy.

She had to maintain an intimate relationship with Chu Ang, not to retaliate against Xie Bo, but to ease the doubts in Chi Xiyu’s heart.

Sure enough, Chi Xiyu observed them quietly.

Seeing their intimate behavior, like a pair of hot new lovers, she began to doubt if she had overthought.

Although Xie Bo noticed that she was pretending to be intimate with Chu Ang on purpose, he still felt his blood flowing slowly, weak and powerless.

Chi Xiyu walked over with a cup, wanting to drink with them. Lin Yiwei coquettishly said to Chu Ang in a low voice, “I can’t drink much, help me drink.”

“Okay.”

Chu Ang’s head was dizzy. He picked up the glass and drank it all in one gulp.

Chi Xiyu smiled and said, “Chu Ang, you must treat Weiwei well. She’s my best friend.”

Whether it was tipsy or shy, Chu Ang’s cheeks flushed, nodding vigorously.

If he had the chance, he definitely would.

Chi Xiyu looked at them, feeling much more comfortable and smoother in her heart.

After a while, Li Du walked over and flipped through Xie Bo’s cigarette case. “All gone?”

“Yeah.”

Chi Xiyu hurriedly said, “Xie Bo, I’ll buy you some.”

“Thanks.”

Lin Yiwei glanced coldly at him, his slender fingertips tossing away the empty cigarette case, chin slightly raised, eyes naturally filled with a sense of entitlement.

She sometimes really found Xie Bo annoying, who could stand him except for Chi Xiyu. And the tacit cooperation between Li Du and Xie Bo obviously intended to keep Chi Xiyu away, not knowing what bad things they were hiding.

“I’ll accompany you.” Lin Yiwei quickly stood up, accompanying Chi Xiyu out.

“Ah, you’re the best!”

On the street, the cold wind was rustling. Not far from them, there was a convenience store.

Chi Xiyu knew his cigarettes like the back of her hand. She named a foreign brand to the store owner. Instead of taking the cigarettes from the shelf, the owner found them in a drawer and handed them over.

Chi Xiyu seemed very knowledgeable, and seriously explained to Lin Yiwei, “Many foreign brands are not publicly sold in stores, but they are available. You have to ask for them.”

Thinking about it, this wasn’t her first time doing this.

Lin Yiwei really couldn’t understand why a rich second-generation young lady like her needed to know these things so well.

If she were Chi Xiyu, she would be a proud princess, and only a crazy person would humbly chase after boys.

She wouldn’t care about any man, and if she really liked someone, she would make him her lover.

Whether to promise a future or not, Lin Yiwei would have to think carefully and choose the very best boy.

After all, no one could make her bow her head and beg.

She was dreaming of being a princess again. She wasn’t a princess, she didn’t even have the qualifications to be Cinderella.

She lowered her head and looked at the ancient bronze cross on her chest, which was made of an unknown material.

Such a delicate ornament, she had been wearing it since she was a child. It must have been left to her by her parents. But where were they, and why did they abandon her?

The two of them walked on the cold winter streets. Chi Xiyu didn’t seem to plan to go back immediately.

With a slight drunkenness, she told Lin Yiwei, “He doesn’t have feelings for me. I’m very clear about that. He doesn’t take me seriously. Just now, he forgot about me.”

These were words that Chi Xiyu would never say to Xu Qianxi, nor would she say them to any of the girls in their group.

In front of them, Chi Xiyu had to maintain her pride and happiness, to gain more envy and fill her empty vanity.

But in front of Lin Yiwei, she showed her weakest side.

Lin Yiwei looked at her with a perfectly feigned expression of concern.

She thought that she had already entered her heart.

“Xixi, it’s really tiring to be like this, it’s heartbreaking.”

“How could I not know that he doesn’t like me? Otherwise, he wouldn’t be ambiguous with so many girls. He doesn’t like them either, he only likes himself.”

Chi Xiyu hugged herself, squatting on the ground in grievance, “But what can I do? I just like him, the indescribable heartbeat and liking.”

“I understand.” Lin Yiwei squatted beside her, gently patting her shoulder, “Girls are always particularly vulnerable.”

She said words she didn’t agree with, comforting her intimately.

The more she did this, the more Chi Xiyu felt sorry for herself: “Because I like him, I even hope he bullies me, but he won’t. He’s even more indifferent to me than to plain water.”

“Everyone thinks that Xie Bo is very good to you, very gentle.”

“Yes, he is very good, politely good. His gentleness is distant. Can you understand that feeling?” Chi Xiyu grabbed her hand, “I don’t even think he desires me. In front of me, all his smiles are not from the heart. He wears a mask, and I can’t see his heart.”

“But he will accompany you for life.”

“Maybe that’s my only consolation.” Chi Xiyu wiped the corners of her moist eyes, “In the end, I will get him. Even if it’s all fake, the business cooperation between the Chi family and the Xie family, the close relationship, is real.”

Lin Yiwei closed her eyes, also hiding the pity in her eyes.

Yes, they were closely related. If Chi Xiyu was her enemy, then Xie Bo would be too.

“You go back first, I’ll stay outside for a while.” Chi Xiyu needed to sort out her emotions and let the redness in her eyes fade, “I’ll come back later.”

“I’ll stay with you.”

“I want to be alone. You go back quickly, or Chu Ang will blame me for taking you away for so long.” Chi Xiyu seemed much lighter in mood and even joked with her.

Lin Yiwei obediently went back to the club. As soon as she turned the corner of the corridor, her wrist was grabbed.

The next second, she was uncontrollably pulled into a dark empty room by the other party.

Although it was dark and she couldn’t see her hand in front of her face, she could feel the man’s hot breath on her face, a familiar scent.

“Xie Bo! What are you doing?” Lin Yiwei tried to struggle, but he held her tightly, not giving her any chance to break free.

She was forcefully pressed against the wall by Xie Bo, and her backbone hit painfully against it.

“Bastard!”

She wildly waved her arms to hit him, landing a few slaps crisply on his face, and she could hear the clear sound. Until the man grabbed her wrist and pressed it against her head.

“A new dress?” Xie Bo’s fingertip hooked the thin strap on her shoulder, “You bought a new dress for a date with him?”

“This has nothing to do with you, Xie Bo!”

Feeling his grip tighten, Lin Yiwei said fiercely, “If you dare touch my new dress, try it!”

“Threatening me?”

After saying that, Xie Bo roughly tore off the thin strap on Lin Yiwei’s left shoulder, biting her shoulder and leaving a clear bite mark.

Lin Yiwei made a muffled sound and slapped him, “The dress is expensive!”

He didn’t seem to feel the pain, as he was already used to her hitting him.

“I’ll buy you a new one.”

“I don’t need it! Just leave!” Lin Yiwei still felt resentful, turning to leave.

Xie Bo held onto her dress, and she struggled again, afraid of being exposed.

“What do you like about him?” He whispered in her ear, his breath hot, “His figure, or his appearance?”

“Both, Xie Bo.” She gritted her teeth, “You know, I’ve always had no resistance to men with such figures.”

Xie Bo bit her, like a battle-like kiss, with smoke and fire, entangling and struggling with each other. Lin Yiwei bit him back, and he responded with even more force, as if trying to engulf each other.

Lin Yiwei’s knees weakened, and she could hardly stand.

“X-Xie Bo! Let go.”

“I can’t.” He smirked, in a lazy tone, “So~~taut.”

“Bastard!”

She wanted to hit him, but her arms had no strength left.

“Break up with him.” His emotions rose too, as he whispered in her ear, “Lin Yiwei, listen to me.”

“You’re really ridiculous. You were the one who suggested breaking up, and now you won’t let me have contact with other guys. There’s no logic in this world.”

“Break up with him, or be with me.” Xie Bo spoke frankly.

“Give me a reason.” She stubbornly replied.

“What reason do you want?”

“Chu Ang can help me, can you?”

“I can too.” Xie Bo held her waist, making her face away from him, “Help in all aspects.”

Lin Yiwei raised her chin slightly, closing her eyes, accommodating all of him in confusion and worry, “I-I’ve already taken the breakup fee, Xie Bo, can you show some credibility? If we break up again, I’ll ask for more.”

“Ask for however much you want.” He breathed heavily, losing his rationality.

She looked back at him, wanting to push him away but lacking the strength, “Chu Xiyu is coming back! This can’t happen!”

“Quick and decisive.” He unfastened her other shoulder strap, revealing her most beautiful view to him.

“Bastard!”

He reached for the switch on the wall, and in an instant, the room was brightly lit. Lin Yiwei’s eyes struggled to adjust to the sudden brightness, and she subconsciously closed them.

Xie Bo held her chin, took out his phone, and took a photo of the two of them intimately entwined.

In the picture, he was behind her, both with flushed cheeks and slightly intoxicated gazes.

Lin Yiwei was caught off guard, taking his phone and Xie Bo stepped back, looking at the photo of the two in it, smiling, “Very well-matched.”

“Are you crazy? Are you trying to threaten me with this…”

“Do I need to resort to such low tactics?”

Xie Bo just really liked this photo, staring at it intently, a smile in his eyes, “He said I would never win your heart, but I think you quite like me, the body’s reaction doesn’t lie, right.”

Lin Yiwei remembered the dangerous moment when Xie Bo’s car almost lost control on the road just now.

She didn’t know what the two of them talked about in the car, but evidently, Xie Bo had revealed the relationship between them to Chu Ang.

“You always think you’re right.” Lin Yiwei forced him out, straightened her dress, and turned to leave.

Xie Bo grabbed her, and she turned around and slapped him again, a clear and pleasant sound, more painful than the ones in the darkness just now.

Xie Bo turned his face slightly but didn’t release the hand tightly holding hers, “It’s only you who dare to treat me like this…”

He cupped the back of her head and kissed her, craving all of her, “You know, every minute, every second in my mind during this period has been filled with thoughts of you, and you, after just a couple of days, hooked up with my friend.”

“If you need to solve problems, find other women, there are plenty who want you, there’s one waiting outside.”

“Lin Yiwei, how many times do I have to say it for you to understand, I only want you.”

“Don’t act like you’re so sentimental, Xie Bo, we’re on equal footing, both succumbing to desire… pitiful creatures.”

“So, we’re a perfect match.” Xie Bo pressed against her, kissing her neck, her thoughts scattered.”

Xie Bo, you promised to help me, you can’t go back on your word.”

“How can I help?”

Lin Yiwei hugged him, with no one else to rely on, and looked up.

“You’ll know.”
