Love is Hidden in the Wind
Love is Hidden in the Wind: Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Delete Friends

The fifth highway winds through the mountains, steep and full of curves. At the starting point of the road lies a large square, seemingly built for the young men and women who love racing, funded by the Xie Group.

Whenever there’s a major racing event, the place is packed with people, bustling with activity. Like tonight.

Lin Yiwei is squeezed in the overflowing crowd, with Su Andi closely following her, sporting a devilish makeup on her face.

Among the vibrant and youthful crowd, such makeup doesn’t seem exaggerated. Compared to the trendy boys and girls around her, Lin Yiwei’s everyday light makeup is almost negligible.

Not only do they wear extravagant makeup, but they also have different English letters affixed to their faces, with DS being the most prominent.

Su Andi explains that this is the logo of the racing club, with the DS club winning the most awards and having the strongest overall strength, followed by West.

“DS is the club where Xie Bo belongs. DS stands for Destiny. Xie Bo is not only the top driver of the club but also a shareholder of DS. It is said that he founded this club single-handedly.”

Su Andi enthusiastically introduces Lin Yiwei, “Because Xie Bo loves racing, the rich young masters in Qinggang City have started playing too. He’s especially talented and has won many heavyweight awards from the International Racing Association in the past year or two.”

Lin Yiwei has no interest in the person Su Andi likes and remains silent as she listens to her talk endlessly.

With the rhythmic music from the DJ booth, the young people sway their bodies, immersed in the lively outdoor dance party.

A swoosh sound, and several cool sports cars drive from the far end of the road.

Several young men wearing colorful racing suits get out of the cars and wave to the cheering crowd.

“Is the one you like, Xie, inside?”

“Obviously not!” Su Andi looks at them disdainfully, “When Xie Bo comes out, you’ll know immediately.”

“But I’ve never seen him.”

“But you’ll know.” Su Andi smiles, “He has a strong presence that you can never ignore, maybe that’s his charm.”

“Are you sure it’s not beauty is in the eye of the beholder?”

“Trust me, it’s definitely not. Xie Bo’s handsomeness is universally acknowledged.”

Lin Yiwei looks at the several young men who just got off the cars.

Generations of aristocratic genes have made these young men and ladies all beautiful, almost flawless.

She doesn’t think another one could be more handsome than them, at most just like that, seeing too many would even cause aesthetic fatigue.

“Look, West is here.” Su Andi watches the team with a predominantly white theme approaching and tells Lin Yiwei, “That’s the team from Chixi City. The guy who gets out of the first car, Yunhui, is Chixi City’s follower. The group was built by him.” She adds disdainfully, “Their team is the arch-enemy of DS.”

Lin Yiwei couldn’t help but ask, “Where is Chixi City?”

Su Andi grins, “Are you so eager to meet him? Seems like you two have been getting along well, hehe.”

These past few days, Lin Yiwei did indeed chat with Chi Xicheng. She crafted a persona of a cool and aloof beauty, not overly enthusiastic towards him but not cold either, striking a balance and remaining composed.

Men like Chi Xicheng, who are playboys from wealthy families, are never short of flattering women around them. If she were too eager to get close to him, it would only make him lose interest.

At the same time, she seldom mentioned her own affairs—school, age, work…none of it. Maintaining an air of mystery.

Zhang Ailing once said, “A man who knows you too well will not love you.”

Lin Yiwei didn’t know where she learned so much about the intricacies of relationships between men and women.

Perhaps it was instinctual.

For others, it might be a romantic diversion, but for Lin Yiwei, it was survival.

She could see that Chi Xicheng wasn’t some deeply insightful and intelligent man; he was as foolish as most men, but wealthy.

More importantly, he was Chi Xiyu’s brother.

Su Andi was completely unaware of what Lin Yiwei was thinking and continued to talk to her, “Chi Xicheng doesn’t play racing, but he’s an investor in the West team. Some say he only formed the team to compete with Xie Bo. They seem harmonious on the surface, like friends, but there’s an undercurrent.”

Lin Yiwei said, “Is the name West team derived from his name?”

“Yes, the team’s full name is Westfall, derived from his name. It is said that he has spent a lot of money on the team, inviting many champions from abroad to join, all to compete with Xie Bo.”

Su Andi’s words never strayed far from the person she liked, always subtly mentioning him.

Soon, an incredibly cool silver modified racing car arrived, accompanied by sharp braking sounds, executing beautiful drifts along the bends of the road.

As the high-quality silver-gray car window lowered, the entire crowd screamed, and Su Andi’s shouts nearly ruptured Lin Yiwei’s eardrums!

“Ah! Xie Bo!”

“So handsome!”

“Xie Bo, Xie Bo!”

The flashes at the scene were more eye-catching than when a celebrity hit the streets.

Lin Yiwei looked towards the racing car and saw the man inside.

He wore goggles, revealing a sharp brow, and his side profile was striking.

His left hand casually rested on the car window, each bone distinct, long and beautiful, his skin cold white, with a tattoo on his wrist.

A slender black snake, its tongue sticking out, in an S-shape.

Lin Yiwei’s heart was momentarily suffocated, and it took several seconds before she could breathe smoothly.

It’s him!

She almost didn’t need to see him take off his goggles; Lin Yiwei recognized him at a glance.

Those hands with the snake tattoo had touched every inch of her skin, exploring her depths…

Lin Yiwei couldn’t not recognize him.

“He’s handsome, isn’t he?” Su Andi excitedly shook Lin Yiwei’s slender shoulders. “I didn’t lie to you, is he handsome?”

Undoubtedly, Su Andi’s previous words were not exaggerated at all.

Indeed, Xie Bo’s aura was extraordinary. When he appeared, all these young masters in their colorful racing suits around him, regardless of whether they were good-looking or not, instantly became background figures.

Seated in the car, he was nothing like the young man Lin Yiwei had met that day…wearing silver-rimmed glasses, gentle and elegant.

He was like a burning flame, unrestrained and bold.Unconsciously, Lin Yiwei’s mind recalled the restrained and patient gaze he had when she was on top of him, looking at her…

She had always thought of him as an inexperienced good little brother, someone she could mold however she pleased.

She never thought he wasn’t someone she could control.

Lin Yiwei was wrong.

Over the years, she had heard many things related to Xie Bo from Su Andi, this fervent admirer.

The third prince of the aristocratic family seemed refined and cultured, but in reality, he was ruthless and cold-hearted.

The consensus among the young masters and ladies in Qinggang City was that it’s better to offend a thousand Chi Xichengs than to offend a Xie Bo.

Thinking of that night’s events… Lin Yiwei’s palms suddenly broke out in a cold sweat.

That kind of person was someone she couldn’t afford to provoke and definitely wouldn’t dare to.

Regret came too late, but fortunately, she had moved houses after that night, and they had lost contact.

Although they exchanged WeChat contacts… Lin Yiwei immediately took out her phone, found the WeChat account named “thin,” and deleted it without hesitation.

Thin, Bo.

Now she understood the meaning behind this WeChat name.

Xie Bo didn’t get out of the car. With half-opened windows revealing his face, amidst the screams of the young men and women, he drove the race car to the starting line, forming a half-circle with several cars around him.

A sexy lady in a hot mini skirt and tank top held up a flag, elegantly striding along the starting line and tossing ribbons.

At the moment the ribbon hit the ground, the roar of engines sounded, and several modified racing cars shot out like arrows.

Just as Su Andi was called over by a few friends, Lin Yiwei took the opportunity to slip away.

She couldn’t go to tonight’s gathering no matter what. Since the mistake had already occurred, she could only mitigate the risk and avoid meeting Xie Bo.

Dropping the clue about Chi Xicheng… it was a bit regrettable, but she couldn’t care about that now.

Her real target was only one person, Chi Xiyu.

She was the most directly related person to Lin Xie’s disappearance.

Lin Yiwei deleted Chi Xicheng, walked out of the suburban road, walked several kilometers, and finally found a bus shelter, boarded the bus, and went home….

In the luxurious and extravagant private room of the White Reason Club, Chi Xicheng, feeling listless, pushed away a girl who had actively approached him, took out his phone, and sent a WeChat message to Lin Yiwei, asking if she had arrived.

The reply he received was a small red dot—

“The other party is not your friend, you need to send a friend verification request.”

She actually deleted him?!

Chi Xicheng’s entire being turned sour, unprecedented anger surged in his heart. He picked up a glass of hot vodka, drank it all, and then threw the glass with force.

The private room suddenly quieted down, everyone stopped their respective entertainments, and looked at Chi Xicheng in confusion.

His follower, Yunhui, immediately said, “It’s okay, I was just fooling around with Brother Cheng, everyone continue.”

When the atmosphere returned to normal, Yunhui cautiously approached Chi Xicheng, “Brother Cheng, what’s wrong?”

Chi Xicheng rudely questioned, “Who did you let into the group, fooling me?”

This was a serious accusation; whoever dared to fool Chi Xicheng must have guts.

Yunhui went out of the private room, said a few words to his subordinates, and learned that the girl with the nickname “Breeze” had left, but her friend who came with her was still in the next room.

She couldn’t run away.

Yunhui immediately went to the next room, grabbed Su Andi’s hair, and dragged her out in front of everyone, dragging her into another room at the end of the corridor.

“Damn it! Who are you?!”

Her scalp hurt from being grabbed, Su Andi struggled desperately, the more she struggled, the more painful it became, shouting hoarsely, “What are you doing?!”

Yunhui threw her in front of Chi Xicheng.

Since Xie Bo hadn’t arrived, Su Andi was already feeling bored and even wanted to leave.

As soon as she walked out, Yunhui dragged her in front of Chi Xicheng.

Just now, she was screaming and cursing, but when she raised her head and saw the man with slightly fierce features and deliberately cut-off eyebrows, Su Andi trembled all over, shaking like a sieve: “C…Chi Shao, what do you want with me?”

At this moment, Chi Xicheng’s anger had subsided a bit, and he smiled as he helped Su Andi up, saying to Yunhui, “Did I not say that you should be gentle with girls?”

Although he said so, Su Andi knew that the more he smiled, the more terrifying his methods would be.

She couldn’t help but tremble all over.

Chi Xicheng let her sit next to him, “The one called Breeze, is she your friend?”

Su Andi bit her lip, didn’t answer immediately, and looked at Chi Xicheng warily, “What…what do you want?”

“I made plans with her, but she didn’t show up. I want to know if she’s in trouble.”

Looking at Chi Xicheng pretending to be gentle, Su Andi was terrified.

She only told Lin Yiwei how rich Chi Xicheng was, how generous he was to his girlfriends, but she didn’t mention how much of a playboy he was.

Why did those ex-girlfriends get so much financial compensation?

The way this guy plays… it’s not something ordinary people can handle.

“Tell me, where did your friend go?” Chi Xicheng was losing patience, pinching Su Andi’s chin with one hand and pulling her closer.

“She’s not feeling well, so she went back home.”

“Oh, is that so? What kind of illness makes her so bold as to delete my WeChat?”

“She… she…” Su Andi trembled as she spoke, “I’m not really familiar with her…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Chi Xicheng grabbed her hair and slammed her head against the coffee table.

He controlled his strength, no broken skin, no blood, but the action was extremely threatening, enough to scare Su Andi.

She half knelt on the ground, covering her face, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Inside the private room, everyone was used to this kind of situation and continued with their own activities.

Chi Xicheng moved closer to her, Su Andi trembling backed away, but she saw him grab the Hermès limited edition new bag from his female companion and emptied it, dumping the foundation, lipstick, and keychain on the floor.

After emptying it, he threw the bag to Su Andi.

“It’s for you.”

Su Andi looked at the bag worth six figures, hesitated to accept it, and subconsciously looked at the girl.

The girl angrily pulled Chi Xicheng’s sleeve, “You’re giving someone else’s bag away so casually. Brother Cheng, I want a new one.”

Chi Xicheng obviously had no time to deal with her, muttered three words in a low voice—

“Too noisy.”

The girl immediately shut up obediently.

“Is it really for me?” Su Andi grabbed the chain of the bag and hugged it to her chest.

“I want all her information,” Chi Xicheng looked at her.

Su Andi looked at the expensive limited edition bag in her arms, felt intimidated by Chi Xicheng’s coercion, and no longer hesitated—

“Her name is Lin Yiwei, she just got into Figue University this year. She… she’s my cousin. If Brother Cheng wants to find her, I can help!”
