After Shen Feibai left, Xie Youyou remembered to clean herself.
The bathtub was where Shen Feibai had just bathed, and his scent still lingered. Xie Youyou felt a stirring in her heart. She took off her clothes and lay back down in the spot where Shen Feibai had been. The warm water and the man’s residual scent instantly enveloped her body, feeling like a professional massage, leaving a tingling sensation throughout her body, very comfortable.
Who knew when she would see him again.
Shen Feibai was not the type to be obsessed with women. He had kept her for over two years, and it wasn’t a matter of whether he was tired of her; they had hardly ever had sex. This time, she didn’t know why, but he actually remembered that he had a mistress outside. After two years of not seeing her, Xie Youyou guessed that he had probably forgotten about her long ago, and only the secretary remembered to send her monthly allowance diligently.
Just now, they had both been burning with desire, just one step away from the final act, but he could still pull away because of other matters. This was truly not something an ordinary person could do.
She knew that Shen Feibai had a wife, a political marriage, seemingly childhood sweethearts, but they each did their own thing. They also had a 15-year-old son. Doing the math, Shen Feibai had a child at the age of 20, which was indeed quite early compared to his peers.
After finishing her bath, Xie Youyou, lost in thought, stood up from the bathtub and took the clean dress that Secretary Song had brought for her.
From the underwear and pants to the dress, all the sizes were correct. Xie Youyou blushed slightly, her heart racing as she guessed how he knew her measurements.
After putting on the dress, Xie Youyou looked at herself in the mirror. She looked like a blooming narcissus, the dress perfectly matching her aura—clean, pure, and with a hint of visual fragility.
Her phone, placed on the coffee table, suddenly rang. Xie Youyou answered it; it was Shen Feibai’s secretary, asking if she was ready to leave, as he was already waiting at the hotel entrance.
Xie Youyou quickly said she would be right down and asked him to wait for five minutes.
After hanging up, Xie Youyou picked up her bag and the clothes she had worn earlier from the sofa. She wanted to check if she had left anything behind, but unexpectedly, in a corner of the coffee table, she saw a plain men’s ring.
Xie Youyou paused, picking up the ring and examining it curiously.
The ring looked simple, but it showcased the man’s taste.
It was originally worn on Shen Feibai’s ring finger, but he must have taken it off and left it on the coffee table when he went to shower, forgetting to take it with him when he left.
Without much thought, Xie Youyou put the ring in her bag, planning to return it to him someday.
After Shen Feibai left, he realized he wasn’t wearing his ring, which explained why his ring finger felt bare. He didn’t think much of it, just a habit he hadn’t kicked yet.
Xie Youyou got into the car and placed her bag on the seat.
Secretary Song started the car and asked her, “Miss Xie, would you like to go shopping tonight?”
Upon hearing this, Xie Youyou immediately understood that it must have been arranged by Shen Feibai. He was probably in a good mood because she had served him well, so he had his secretary take her out to spend more money.
It was known that older men were quite shrewd. He was wealthy but not a spendthrift. His treatment of her wasn’t harsh, but he wouldn’t spend an extra cent either. She was just a mistress; why would he spend a lot of money on her?
Xie Youyou thought for a moment and agreed. She had nothing to do anyway if she went back now.
She casually suggested a place, “Let’s go to Tianmao Plaza, then.”
“Okay.”
Secretary Song drove, and Xie Youyou felt at ease.
As he drove, Secretary Song observed the “canary” kept by his master, Shen Feibai.
There was traffic on the road, and fearing that Xie Youyou might be bored, he took the initiative to chat with her about Shen Feibai.
“Master Shen was really annoyed by the young master today. It’s so late, and he still has to go to the school to pick him up personally. Madam is not in A City right now, and the young master’s school is forty kilometers away from the city center. It’s quite a hassle to go back and forth. Master Shen probably won’t get any sleep tonight.”
Secretary Song was from Shen Feibai’s father’s generation. Shen Feibai was the second child in his family and had grown up in a wealthy and powerful household, so Secretary Song was used to calling him “Second Master.”
Regarding Secretary Song mentioning Shen Feibai’s son, Xie Youyou just smiled and didn’t comment. She wouldn’t presume to discuss her benefactor’s family matters, especially his beloved son, the only child and treasure of the Shen family.
She only said, “Secretary Song, you must be tired too.”
Secretary Song also smiled. “Well, this is my job after all.”
Now, Secretary Song was somewhat admiring of the “canary” kept by his master, Shen Feibai. She knew her place and didn’t get jealous or sour like other women. She spoke and acted appropriately and didn’t take the opportunity to speak ill of the young master. It seemed she didn’t have any intentions of climbing the social ladder.
In the past, other women had approached Shen Feibai, but their intentions to rise in status were obvious. Before they had even secured their position, they were already intolerant of the young master.
But this one was different; she had earned his respect. During the two years that Shen Feibai had forgotten about her, she had remained quiet and content, fulfilling her role as a mistress perfectly.
Secretary Song admitted to himself that his previous remarks were a test. Shen Feibai might not say it, but Secretary Song knew that the young master was the apple of his eye, and no one could threaten that.
Even though Shen Feibai had a mistress, it wouldn’t affect the young master’s position in the family. Secretary Song just didn’t want any woman setting her sights on the young master or trying to cause trouble for Shen Feibai and his son.
After bringing up this topic, Secretary Song didn’t say anything else.
Xie Youyou didn’t know what Secretary Song was thinking, but she could see that Shen Feibai might not be a good man or a good husband, but he was a good father.
