Chapter 107 Your sister is at home
Afterward, Shen Zhiyu was so tired that she questioned her life. “I’ve been slacking off on my exercise lately, my stamina has declined.” Gu Ye even analyzed it seriously. Shen Zhiyu grabbed a piece of cloth from the bed and stuffed it into his mouth. Who knew, the man wrinkled his nose, took it out and saw it was his own underwear, and immediately put it on with disgust.
Then he stuffed his wife’s clothes into her hand, “Use this.” Shen Zhiyu: “……. ” She was worried that he would be uncomfortable because of the falling out with his family, but who knew, he was still in the mood to make trouble. She rolled her eyes in exasperation.
But she hugged him even tighter. Unbeknownst to Shen Zhiyu, Gu Ye had actually been prepared for this day. Before he went to serve in the army, his parents were biased, but it wasn’t so obvious. After all, they were all poor, and the whole family ate from the same pot, and they couldn’t even get enough to eat. Even if there were some arguments at home, it was just a matter of you having more vegetable soup and I having less. But it changed after he went to the army and started earning money.
When he received his first allowance, he sent money back home, hoping to improve their diet so they could eat as well as he did in the army. Who knew, later his parents’ appetite grew bigger and bigger. It was as if, since he ate and lived in the army and didn’t spend much money, he should send all his earnings back home.
Every time he went back, they wouldn’t ask him if the training in the army was hard or dangerous. They only cared about how much allowance he had, what things he brought back, and whether they were valuable. So……. Gu Ye had long foreseen this day. Now that it had happened, he only felt a sense of relief that it had finally happened. He even breathed a sigh of relief. Now that the mask was off, he didn’t have to bother maintaining a superficial peace.
After spring, the training intensity in Gu Ye’s army was immediately increased, and Shen Zhiyu continued to study and do problems while attending classes. From initially struggling to read elementary school textbooks, she could now solve high school problems.
Chen Cuijuan vaguely guessed that her daughter wanted to go to university, she didn’t say anything, she just tried her best to help her daughter take care of the children when she was at home, so that the children wouldn’t affect her.
Who knew, those two children just loved to cling to their mother. Seeing that their mother liked to read, they wanted to read too. They couldn’t understand it, but they learned from their mother’s example, holding their pens and writing seriously!
When Auntie Xia saw them drawing on the book, she rushed over to take the pen away: “What are you doing, kids, pens and books are so expensive! You can’t play with them like this!”
Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan were immediately scared. Tuan Tuan was more composed, he frowned, as if he was really reflecting. Yuan Yuan looked at his mother, his mouth pouted, as if he was very wronged, he didn’t understand what he had done wrong, his mother was also writing! “It’s okay, Auntie Xia, give me the pen, next time you encounter this kind of thing, don’t react so strongly, now they are at the age when they are most interested in everything, just tell them that it’s wrong.”
Auntie Xia smiled reluctantly: “You are still so good at teaching children, Teacher Shen.” Don’t children grow up through scolding and beating? They’ll be scared and won’t do it again next time. But after all, they were someone else’s children, she didn’t dare say anything. She awkwardly clapped her hands, got up, “Then I’ll go cook, Xiao Shen, will you take care of them?”
“Okay, you go ahead.” Now that the weather was warm, Gu Ye knew that the children liked to crawl, so he collected a bunch of dry grass and wove a large straw mat, which he then sewed a layer of old cloth onto. It was both wear-resistant and dirt-resistant, perfect for the two brothers to crawl on and play. Shen Zhiyu took the pen and book, and then imitated them, scribbling on it.
Yuan Yuan’s eyes lit up immediately. Before he could speak, Shen Zhiyu winked at Chen Cuijuan, who immediately understood and ran over to “fiercely” hit Shen Zhiyu’s arm: “You can’t do that!” “Ah!” “It hurts, woo woo woo, Mom, I’m sorry.”
Shen Zhiyu cooperated by crying out in pain and pretending to cry, Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan were stunned. They reacted, immediately sticking their chubby little butts out and crawling to the side, away from the book! Seeing the brothers’ reaction, Shen Zhiyu was so amused that her stomach hurt, and Chen Cuijuan was laughing so hard that tears came out of her eyes.
Oh, crawling babies are the most interesting. They thought that was the end of it, but who knew, when Gu Ye came back and heard Shen Zhiyu laughingly tell him about it, the man was silent for a moment. The next morning, he got up early.
He dug out his old textbooks and notebooks from under the bed when he was first learning to read. He found a piece of paper, wrote down the basic horizontal, vertical, dot, and stroke characters, as well as numbers, and things he often saw in daily life.
He also drew pictures to go with them. When he went out, he handed it to Chen Cuijuan and asked her to show it to them when the two kids had nothing to do. Now was the time when their ability to learn and imitate was strongest. Chen Cuijuan thought her son-in-law was just looking for something to do. After all, she still had two grandsons, Tie Dan and Gou Dan, and when they were as old as Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan, they didn’t know anything. Who knew.
When Shen Zhiyu went back to read later that night, Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan were actually looking at the little book that their father had specially made for them, just like their mother. They even pointed at the chair, then at the picture on the paper: “Ah!” Shen Zhiyu and Chen Cuijuan were startled, they looked at each other, “My goodness, they really can!” While Gu Ye calmly picked them up, “Yes, the same, they’re all chairs.”
The Gu family’s children were not stupid. Gu Peng, their younger brother, was also very smart when he was a child, it was just that he was later neglected.
The two little guys didn’t just eat rice porridge or breast milk, they ate eggs and minced meat every day. During this time, they were changing by the day. They were growing faster than children who were several months older than them.
And they loved to read with their mother, how long had it been? The family said things like table and chair, and Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan knew what they were talking about. Raising a child is truly a magical thing that brings a sense of accomplishment and surprise.
The family was filled with laughter and joy because of these two kids, and they were counting down the days until Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan went to kindergarten. Just when the whole family was enjoying themselves and counting down the days until Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan went to kindergarten, a phone call suddenly came to the army. “Captain Gu, there’s a call for you.”
It was rare for him to receive a call, this was the first time. Gu Ye was a little confused, he didn’t know who was calling. “Hello, this is Gu Ye.”
“Brother-in-law!” Shen Guowang’s excited voice came from the other end of the phone.
Gu Ye frowned, “Hmm, has something happened at home?” He actually called. The man’s heart skipped a beat, he was afraid something urgent had happened at home.
The next second, he heard the voice on the other end of the phone: “Something has happened! Brother-in-law, your sister is at home now!”
