Chapter 44 Don’t think about sleeping with her tonight if you don’t explain clearly

It was dinner time, and the compound was bustling with life. Every household had the aroma of cooking wafting from their courtyards, accompanied by the sounds of children playing and talking. The weather was hot, so no one was eating indoors, they were all dining in their courtyards or at their doorways. They could eat and chat with their neighbors at the same time.

Seeing Shen Zhiyu and Gu Ye come out, everyone knew that this young, beautiful woman, so white she seemed to glow, was the wife Gu Tuanzhang had married in the countryside! Goodness, she didn’t look like a country girl at all! She was even prettier than the girls in the city! And she had a bit of baby fat on her face, her eyes were curved, and she had a youthful, innocent charm. Most importantly, she had a healthy complexion, rosy and fair, with full, lustrous lips, the kind of face that looked blessed. Everyone greeted them warmly. “Tuanzhang Gu, is this your wife?

 Just arrived today?” “Yes, we arrived at noon.” “Oh my, she’s so beautiful.” After learning her name, they found it even more fitting for a city girl. Though a bit tongue-twisting, it was definitely more pleasing than something like Erni or Pandi! Knowing they were going to Chief Huang’s house for dinner, they said they would come over and talk to her after they settled in. Of course, some people knew that Chief Huang’s wife had plans for tonight, and they silently lit a candle for her. Knowing that Gu Ye and his country wife were coming for dinner, Chief Huang’s wife went straight to the kitchen as soon as she got off work, not stopping for a moment.

 Several times her niece, Wang Jiajia, wanted to help, but Chief Huang’s wife stopped her. “You silly girl, why compare yourself to a country woman in terms of diligence? There’s nothing to compare. Your job today is to look beautiful and sit there. Compare yourself with that country wife of his, the difference will be obvious, and Gu Ye will definitely regret it!” Wang Jiajia blushed at these words. Suddenly, her uncle’s hearty laughter rang out from outside the house.

We all thought you were just going back for a family visit, but you actually got married!” “Hurry up and introduce us!” “Chief Huang, this is my wife, Shen Zhiyu. Yuzu, this is my leader, Chief Huang.” Chief Huang was different from what Shen Zhiyu had imagined. Gu Ye had such a strong aura, and Chief Huang was his leader, wouldn’t he be even more imposing? However, upon meeting Chief Huang, she discovered this wasn’t the case at all. He was of medium height, about 1.75 meters tall, with dark skin, a square face, thick eyebrows and big eyes.

The scar at the end of his eyebrow looked frightening, but Chief Huang seemed like a man who loved to laugh. When he smiled, the scar moved with him, but Shen Zhiyu knew it was a scar he received in battle, protecting his homeland. Suddenly, the scar didn’t seem scary anymore, it actually made him more approachable. Shen Zhiyu smiled politely, “Hello Chief Huang, I’m Gu Ye’s wife, just call me Xiao Shen.” Her eyes were bright, her voice was clear and pleasant, and it had a hint of youthfulness. She was just a simple, pretty girl! Gu Ye, this guy, almost thirty, and he married such a young woman. Chief Huang laughed and greeted Shen Zhiyu, then teasingly glanced at Gu Ye. He had thought that Gu Ye was indeed forced into a blind marriage by his parents, as his wife had said.

 But seeing them like this, they seemed to be in love. Knowing his wife’s little schemes, Chief Huang was a little embarrassed to look at Shen Zhiyu. He felt guilty! Clearing his throat, he said, “Your sister-in-law must have finished cooking, go in, don’t stand outside feeding the mosquitoes.” Chief Huang’s house was similar to theirs, but bigger, and the kitchen wasn’t separated, it was connected to the living room. There was even a radio in the living room.

 Shen Zhiyu didn’t look around much, quickly scanning the room and preparing to look away, when she suddenly saw a young woman standing in the living room. She was quite petite, with a bob haircut, her features weren’t particularly delicate, but they were pretty. She had fair skin and a slender figure, wearing a yellow linen dress and a headband, with white shoes.

She looked like a city girl. This was the first time Shen Zhiyu had seen someone wearing white shoes, they were so pretty. She looked great in that outfit. But she felt something was off, this woman was also looking her up and down. It was a full body scan, and unlike Shen Zhiyu’s appreciation, there was a hint of judgment in her eyes, and when she saw Shen Zhiyu’s coarse cloth clothes, there was a flicker of disdain and mockery.

 But when she saw Shen Zhiyu’s face, her expression became slightly unnatural, and there was a hint of jealousy in her eyes. This blatant and direct hostility. And the unwillingness in her eyes when she looked at Gu Ye. If Shen Zhiyu didn’t understand, she would be a fool. Then she looked at Gu Ye’s expression. He wasn’t surprised, clearly he knew her, and he wasn’t surprised to see her here. Shen Zhiyu silently made a mental note for Gu Ye.

 He didn’t tell her! He wouldn’t be getting any cuddles tonight! Seeing his niece standing stiffly in the room like a stick, Chief Huang’s forehead was sweating, what was Wang Guizhi doing?!  He had just finished mentally scolding her when Wang Guizhi came out carrying a plate of food. She had a smile on her face, but a flicker of surprise flashed in her eyes when she saw Shen Zhiyu. However, she was much more experienced than Wang Jiajia, and quickly adjusted her expression, saying warmly, “You’re here, this must be Xiao Gu’s wife! You’re so beautiful, come in, the food is ready, we can eat soon!” As she spoke, she noticed that Gu Ye had brought something with them.

She asked, and sure enough, they had. She then scolded them playfully, “Why bring things when you come for dinner? Take them back and eat them yourselves.” She said this, but her eyes were glued to the beautiful, golden fried fish! Just the smell told her it must be delicious! And knowing Gu Ye’s carelessness, she knew the fish must have been prepared by his wife.

 Originally, because of her niece, Wang Guizhi had been feeling that Gu Ye didn’t know what was good for him, and she had disliked Shen Zhiyu, whom she hadn’t met yet. But seeing that she was a beautiful girl, and so polite and well-mannered, she almost betrayed her own side, if not for seeing Wang Jiajia out of the corner of her eye. She forced herself to look away. “I didn’t buy it, I made it with what we had at home. I made a whole pot, there’s still some at home.

And it’s too hot to keep, it’ll go bad overnight.” She said this and directly placed the plate on the table. She didn’t know if it was her imagination, but with this plate of beautifully presented pan-fried fish, Wang Guizhi felt that the entire table of dishes had been elevated!
