Chapter 12: Covered in Shit
Su Luoluo was stunned.
Revenge?
She hadn’t offended anyone recently.
Zhu Yanhua had already gone to open the door.
Upon seeing the person at the door, Zhu Yanhua’s face turned pale.
“Your Yang family is unconscionable! Yang Lao’er, that short-lived ghost, is dead, leaving our younger sister a young widow with three children to raise, and your mother-in-law is paralyzed, needing her care. Now you’re even swindling our younger sister’s money! Quickly return everything!”
Su’s eldest sister-in-law, Ma Zhichan, stood with her hands on her hips, pointing at Zhu Yanhua’s face and cursing loudly.
She had heard from the villagers that Su Luoluo, that little vixen, had bought a large amount of good things yesterday, so much that the ox cart couldn’t hold it all, and she had to hire a tractor to transport them.
That vixen dared not bring anything back to the Su family.
“We didn’t swindle our sister-in-law…”
Zhu Yanhua, gentle and virtuous, was not used to arguing with people and could only stammer a response.
“Bah…”
Ma Zhichan spat, cursing roughly,
“If you hadn’t swindled her, why wouldn’t my younger sister bring anything back to her parents’ home after buying so many things? I advise you to hand over those things quickly, otherwise… hehe… I’ll make you look good!”
Ma Zhichan’s voice was loud, and many people gathered around to watch the commotion.
“Those things belong to my sister-in-law. It’s her decision how she wants to deal with them. The family hasn’t restricted her in any way.”
Facing the scrutinizing gazes of the crowd, Zhu Yanhua’s demeanor weakened, and she spoke softly.
“Bullshit!”
“You’re talking smoother than singing! Get out of the way. I’m going to find my younger sister and get her things back.”
Ma Zhichan, arrogant and aggressive, pushed Zhu Yanhua aside forcefully.
Zhu Yanhua stumbled and almost fell.
Ma Zhichan had already stormed into the house.
“No, no! Uncle, Aunt!”
Niuniu, like a small cannonball, rushed forward, hitting Ma Zhichan’s legs with her hands.
“Get lost, little brat! You’re such a jinx!”
Ma Zhichan showed no mercy to the three-year-old child and pushed her away.
Niuniu fell backward, landing on her bottom and crying loudly.
Xiaolei and Xiaofan picked up stones and small sticks, watching Ma Zhichan like little wolf cubs.
Ma Zhichan completely ignored them. After entering, her eyes darted around. Seeing the baskets under the eaves, she rushed over. Seeing the pork, wild chicken, and wild rabbit inside, a greedy look appeared on her face.
“These are gifts from my younger sister to her mother. I’ll take them home for her.”
She picked up the basket and was about to leave.
At that moment, a broom flew towards Ma Zhichan’s face.
Ma Zhichan was caught off guard and was hit. Her face was sticky, with an indescribable smell. She touched it; it was a dark brown, viscous substance. She brought it to her nose and sniffed it.
“Broom dipped in shit, whoever it hits is doomed.”
Su Luoluo held the broom in one hand and her waist in the other, looking down at Ma Zhichan.
She had just cleaned the chicken coop, and the broom was covered in chicken and duck droppings.
“You… ugh…”
Ma Zhichan realized what the smelly, sticky substance on her hand was. She glared at Su Luoluo, about to scold her, but opened her mouth, the stench entered her mouth, causing a wave of nausea, and she couldn’t help but retch.
“I heard a manure truck explode earlier; it turns out it was you speaking.”
“It stinks to high heaven.”
Su Luoluo glanced at Ma Zhichan, disdainfully fanning the air in front of her nose.
“Su Luoluo, I’m your sister-in-law! How dare you talk to me like that? Do you believe I’ll tell your brother and mother, and see if you can still step foot in the Su family’s door?”
Ma Zhichan wiped her face with her sleeve, her face contorted, glaring at Su Luoluo, wishing she could tear her apart.
That damned woman dared to smear her face with shit.
The Su family? Sister-in-law?
Su Luoluo furrowed her brows. This woman was Ma Zhichan!
Tsk… this woman wasn’t a good person; she had been too lenient earlier.
The reason why the original owner had taken the Yang family’s money and run away was because Ma Zhichan had incited and deceived her. In the end, Ma Zhichan swindled all of the original owner’s money. The original owner, penniless and with no way out, easily believed the trafficker’s lies about a high-paying job and followed them, being trafficked to the depths of the mountains.
It could be said that Ma Zhichan was the main culprit who caused the original owner’s tragic fate.
She hadn’t gone to settle the score with her yet, and she had come to her doorstep herself.
“I’ll take these things home to honor your parents. You should understand that your parents’ home is your root, your support. Don’t be disloyal. You need to bring that tractor load of good things home, or your parents won’t let you off the hook.”
Seeing Su Luoluo’s silence, Ma Zhichan thought she was scared, held the basket tighter, and snorted coldly.
The onlookers all thought Su Luoluo was going to empty the Yang family’s belongings for Ma Zhichan.
After all, Su Luoluo had been genuinely good to the Su family in the past, wholeheartedly devoted, always thinking of the Su family, and most of Yang Lao’er’s allowance had gone to the Su family. She would rather starve herself thin than let the Su family members go hungry.
“What are you talking about, old woman?”
“You’re a dung beetle wearing a mask, shameless!”
This time, Su Luoluo didn’t hold back, swinging the broom at Ma Zhichan’s arm.
“Ah…”
Ma Zhichan felt a sharp pain in her hand, and her grip loosened, dropping the basket.
Fortunately, the contents didn’t spill out.
While Ma Zhichan was still groaning in pain, Xiaolei dragged the basket back.
Su Luoluo glanced at him; he was a clever little guy!
Seeing that her things were taken away—all that meat, she hadn’t seen so much meat even during the New Year—Ma Zhichan, ignoring the pain, was about to grab it back.
The shit-smeared broom once again swung towards her face.
Ma Zhichan quickly retreated two large steps.
“Su Luoluo, what are you doing?!”
“Forget it, I won’t bother with you. Just hand over the things.”
Ma Zhichan almost had her face smeared with shit again. She glared at Su Luoluo, her greedy eyes falling back on the basket.
“A hen on the roof; what kind of bird are you?”
“Why should I give you my things?”
“Dare to steal my things? You’re like Wu Dalang drinking medicine for a refill—you don’t know when to stop!”
Su Luoluo once again swung the broom at Ma Zhichan.
“Ah…”
The pain caused Ma Zhichan’s face to twist, emitting a pig-like scream.
“Su Luoluo, you’ve got guts! I’m your brother’s wife, and you dare to hit me?!”
“You’re a toad yawning—such big aspirations!”
“Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth. Dare you? I’ll show you now.”
Su Luoluo gave a bright smile and swung the broom heavily at Ma Zhichan.
“Ouch!”
Ma Zhichan jumped and yelled, like a monkey in a circus.
Su Luoluo chased Ma Zhichan around the yard, beating her, leaving Zhu Yanhua dumbfounded.
Ma Zhichan was beaten until she was in pain all over. She had no choice but to flee.
Seeing Ma Zhichan’s comical jumping and running, everyone burst into laughter.
Ma Zhichan glared fiercely at the laughing crowd.
Ma Zhichan was an annoying person, often stealing and taking advantage of others, so the crowd didn’t hold back, laughing even louder.
“Don’t you want to return to the Su family?”
Ma Zhichan couldn’t fight so many people alone. She couldn’t do anything about the crowd, so she turned her gaze, stood three meters away from the courtyard gate, and pointed at Su Luoluo, issuing threats.
“I don’t.”
Su Luoluo rolled her eyes and replied without hesitation.
There were no good people in the Su family, especially the two elders, who were extremely patriarchal and had exploited the original owner, brainwashing her into contributing to the Su family. Even after marriage, they didn’t let her go.
“Damn it! What kind of magic potion did the Yang family give you, making you abandon your own family? Luoluo, if a woman doesn’t have her family to support her, she will be bullied to death. You can’t believe their lies!”
Ma Zhichan didn’t expect Su Luoluo to say that. Her eyes darted around, realizing that force wouldn’t work. She pretended to be heartbroken, claiming to be doing it for Su Luoluo’s own good.
