Chapter 2
“Need not.”
Huo Zhengye didn’t wait for Shu Wan to answer and took it out directly.
After wringing it out as usual, just as he was about to hang it up, Shu Wan grabbed it without caring about anything else.
Huo Zhengye’s pupils shrank slightly, and the memories of Shu Wan pouncing on him in the past came flooding back. He subconsciously let go, and when he came to his senses, the thing was already in Shu Wan’s hand.
“You go inside first, I’ll come in after you finish hanging the clothes.”
Shu Wan felt so embarrassed when she thought about the fact that her underwear had just been touched by a man and had been twisted clean, and her toes were digging into the ground.
“Um.”
As soon as the person left, Shu Wan let out a sigh and quickly hung up her panties and vest.
Huo Zhengye was afraid that Shu Wan would escape when he wasn’t paying attention, so he deliberately slowed down his pace and kept an eye on Shu Wan’s movements.
It was inevitable that he saw the small piece of cloth on the clothesline. Huo Zhengye staggered and ran into the house as if escaping.
As soon as he entered the room, Huo Zhengye found something wrong.
The floor is clean, the table is tidy, and even the air smells much fresher.
Is this bright and clean house in front of me really my home?
Huo Zhengye looked at Shu Wan who was walking towards him, his eyes deep.
Shu Wan changed her personality?
Or who gave her the idea?
Huo Zhengye gritted his teeth when he thought about Shu Wan borrowing money all over the compound and even meeting other men while she was out on a mission. He could tolerate Shu Wan’s laziness, but he couldn’t tolerate her ruining his reputation and cheating on him!
This marriage must be divorced!
With a cold face, Huo Zhengye took out an envelope from his pocket, which contained the bonus for this mission, and placed it in front of Shu Wan.
“Use the money in here to pay back the money, and keep the rest for yourself. Don’t borrow money from everywhere!”
“Let’s get a divorce! I’ll take a leave of absence and send you home. I’ll send you a sum of money every month until you become independent.”
Huo Zhengye had a resolute look and a firm tone, which showed that he had made up his mind.
Has the plot reached the stage of filing for divorce? Shu Wan couldn’t help but recall.
In order to force Huo Zhengye to return home, the original owner made a big fuss in the compound, quarreling and fighting with the military wives in the compound all day long, and now the situation has developed to the point where he has to borrow money.
To put it nicely, it was borrowing money, but in fact the original owner never paid back the money he borrowed, and he had nothing to fear. After all, most of the people in the compound were family members of Huo Zhengye’s subordinates, and they would be embarrassed to mention this in front of Huo Zhengye even if they knew about it.
Divorce is inevitable, and Shu Wan is too embarrassed to ask for the money.
She pushed the money back, “I will pay back the money I borrowed myself, without using your money.”
This marriage was forced upon the original owner by dishonorable means, and their relationship reached its lowest point after the marriage. Huo Zhengye never went home to avoid her.
Shu Wan didn’t want to continue this cold marriage and be a widow at such a young age. But now she had just arrived and hadn’t figured out the situation yet. She needed some time to adapt. She asked tentatively:
“I agree to divorce, but can you wait until I find a job?”
Huo Zhengye didn’t expect Shu Wan to agree so readily. After being surprised, he frowned.
“You’re not going home?”
Shu Wan nodded, “Going home is also a job, why not stay here and take a look.”
Don’t be fooled by the original owner’s delicate and naughty appearance. In fact, she was not favored at all at home. She did all the dirty and tiring work in the family, including washing clothes, cooking, and farming.
Now that she has escaped the fate of being a nanny, Shu Wan plans to stay here and make a fortune. She can start from scratch and become a female CEO in the modern era, and she doesn’t believe that she can’t make it in this age of gold.
“I’ll find a place to stay soon. It won’t take long.”
“You’d better keep your promise.” Huo Zhengye looked at her solemnly, turned and left.
Shu Wan breathed a sigh of relief. She had just come here, was unfamiliar with the place, and had no money on her. A hasty divorce would only put herself in a passive and dangerous situation.
Fortunately, Huo Zhengye was willing to wait for her for some time. She had to make money as soon as possible before the divorce, enough to leave the compound and live independently.
Suddenly, Shu Wan saw the white envelope still on the table, so she quickly picked up the envelope, caught up with Huo Zhengye, and handed it out.
“You take this money, I will pay it back myself.”
Seeing that the man had no intention of reaching out, the feeling of oppression on her body became even greater. Shu Wan gritted her teeth, stuffed the money into Huo Zhengye’s hand, and ran back to the house without looking back.
Huo Zhengye stood there for a while, then left holding the envelope.
After returning to the room, Shu Wan immediately closed the door.
She was not the original owner, so she couldn’t accept Huo Zhengye’s money with peace of mind. Besides, they are getting divorced, so there is no reason for him to take it.
You need to resolve the repayment issue yourself.
First, you need to confirm how much money is owed and to whom.
Shu Wan struggled to search her memory and wrote down on a piece of paper the amount of money owed and the debtor.
After I finished writing, I added up each amount. Seven or eight people borrowed about 84 yuan in total. The most they borrowed was more than ten yuan, and the least was five or six yuan.
You have to know that in that era, the average family’s monthly salary was only 30 yuan, so the money the original owner borrowed was considered a huge sum of money.
When looking through her memories, she discovered that the original owner had actually borrowed money from the child. Even though it was only a few cents, Shu Wan still felt embarrassed.
The money must be paid back as soon as possible!
Shu Wan counted her current property again and found that except for the money she brought back in the morning, she had no money.
Although Huo Zhengye would give the original owner a sum of money for living expenses every month, she would either send it back home or subsidize her older sister, Shu Fangfang, who lived in the same courtyard.
I used to be able to just get by and save a little. Ever since Du Wendong started pestering the original owner and asking her to borrow money, his savings quickly ran out and he was unable to make ends meet.
When it was low, it was a few dollars, sometimes it was a dozen, and recently it has increased to starting from twenty or thirty dollars.
The money the original owner had was not enough to support the expenses. At Shu Fangfang’s suggestion, the original owner went around the compound to borrow money. The person to borrow the money was chosen by Shu Fangfang and asked to go.
In fact, in addition to wanting to use the method of borrowing money to force Huo Zhengye to go home, Du Wendong was also one of the reasons.
Shu Wan opened the money she brought back in the morning. There was a full twenty yuan in it. Du Wendong had a big appetite. These twenty yuan were enough for a month’s food expenses for a family of three.
It was impossible to give out the money anymore, she didn’t want to be a blood bag anymore.
After putting the money away, Shu Wan sat in the yard, holding her chin in her hand, thinking about how to pay back the remaining fifty yuan.
In her previous life, she relied on her skillful hands to become a world-renowned top fashion designer and inheritor of intangible cultural heritage embroidery, and became famous overseas.
After accumulating a certain amount of wealth and fame, she founded her own brand company and got involved in multiple industries. She soon made it onto the Forbes Rich List. Unexpectedly, she woke up one day and found herself traveling through a book.
Shu Wan thought, it would be better to start with her old business.
Shu Wan took out a pen and paper and started writing a plan.
Just as I was thinking, a rapid knock on the door interrupted my thoughts.
“Who is it?”
Shu Wan murmured that the original owner had a very bad reputation and others were too busy hiding from her to find her.
No, there really is someone there.
Sure enough, when I opened the door, I saw that the person knocking was none other than the original owner’s eldest sister, Shu Fangfang.
Shu Fangfang wore a blouse, white sneakers, and had a popular permed hair, looking very fashionable.
As soon as she saw Shu Wan, she asked him, “What’s wrong with you? Didn’t you give Du Wendong the money?”
