Chapter 27
Knock Knock
Huo Zhengye knocked on the door of Political Commissar Lou’s office.
“Xiao Huo, you’ve come just in time. The higher-ups have approved the military uniform improvement plan, and have chosen our regiment as the pilot.”
As the application requirements began to be implemented, a hint of excitement flashed in Huo Zhengye’s eyes.
Political Commissar Lou was in a good mood. “Work hard. The higher-ups really value it. If the results are good, we will promote it nationwide.”
“clear!”
After that, Political Commissar Lou asked, “What do you want from me?”
Huo Zhengye took out the divorce report he had prepared earlier and handed it to Political Commissar Lou.
“I hope the political commissar will approve Shu Wan and I’s divorce report.”
Political Commissar Lou had just taken a sip of tea with a smile on his face, and when he heard this, he almost choked!
divorce?
Didn’t he remember that Shu Wan was pregnant?
This marriage cannot be divorced!
Just as Political Commissar Lou was about to speak, he heard Huo Zhengye say, “The pregnancy is a misunderstanding.”
Political Commissar Lou’s throat was blocked. As the saying goes, it is better to demolish a temple than to ruin a marriage.
Apart from domestic violence and cheating, is there anything that a couple can’t solve?
Xiao Huo is honest and kind, he would definitely not commit domestic violence. The matter with Shu Wan has been clarified, too. He couldn’t understand it.
Just as he was about to refuse, he saw Huo Zhengye pursed his lips and looked determined.
He had only seen Huo Zhengye like this, willing to die rather than look back, on the battlefield.
Political Commissar Lou refused to give up: “Do you really want to divorce?”
Huo Zhengye nodded heavily.
Political Commissar Lou said dejectedly, “I’ll give you another month to think about it. If you still want to divorce, I’ll agree without hesitation.”
Huo Zhengye said nothing, just stared at Political Commissar Lou.
Political Commissar Lou was furious, “If you really want a divorce, come to me in a week!”
Huo Zhengye also understood that it was impossible for Political Commissar Lou to agree today, so he replied, “Thank you, Political Commissar.”
Political Commissar Lou sighed, “This kid, ah! What’s the point of divorce! Don’t divorce, or you’ll regret it later.”
“I never regret a decision I made.” Huo Zhengye looked determined.
Political Commissar Lou didn’t know what to say when he saw this. He just waved his hand and asked people to leave. It was so annoying to see them!
After leaving the office, Xu Yang ran over, looking anxious, “Your grandma has come to the army! Is your sister-in-law at home? Go home and check on her!”
Huo Zhengye was stunned for a moment, then ran home quickly.
On the way, Huo Zhengye looked anxious and walked very fast.
He regretted not going home first and was annoyed at having let Shu Wan get off the car. When she returned home and saw her grandmother, would she return to her true nature and kick her out immediately?
Huo Zhengye didn’t dare to think about it anymore and ran home. When he reached the gate, he saw Huo Miaoyue squatting on the ground crying, with no one around.
“Where’s the milk?” Huo Zhengye’s face was as gloomy as water, his dark eyes suppressing surging anger.
Huo Miaoyue was crying. She suddenly looked up and shuddered with fear.
“cousin.”
“Where’s the milk?” Huo Zhengye asked again, his tone even more frightening.
“Lost, lost. We were waiting for you at the door, and she suddenly went crazy and ran away. I tried to pull her back, but she pushed me.”
Huo Miaoyue didn’t dare to look at Huo Zhengye when she spoke. She was most afraid of this cousin. If it weren’t for work, she wouldn’t want to take care of her grandmother all the way to meet this cold-faced devil.
My grandma is such a trouble. She runs around even when she is sick. It makes me so worried. It’s so annoying.
Seeing Huo Zhengye’s obviously unbelieving look, Huo Miaoyue bit her lip and explained:
“Grandma has been sick recently and her brain is not working well. She may have waited at the door for too long and got tired, so she got sick.”
Hearing this, Huo Zhengye’s face turned pale. Grandma is sick?
Why didn’t anyone at home write to tell him? Even when grandma wanted it, no one told him in advance.
Huo Zhengye felt as if he had fallen into an icy cave, and his tall body swayed.
My grandmother was in poor health and I don’t know how long she had been waiting at the door.
Huo Zhengye said in a deep voice, “Your sister-in-law didn’t let you in?”
Huo Miaoyue was stunned. There was no one inside. It seemed that her cousin probably didn’t know.
She immediately had an idea. She still needed her cousin’s help to find a job and couldn’t hold a grudge against him because of this matter. Shu Wan has a bad relationship with her cousin, so it’s better to put the blame on her.
Huo Miaoyue deliberately said vaguely: “I knocked, but the door didn’t open.”
Huo Zhengye clenched his fists, his masseter muscles bulged, veins on his temples stood out, and his sharp black eyes were filled with raging anger.
What a cruel heart, letting an old man suffer outside!
Perhaps Shu Wan’s recent changes blinded him, and he was a little hesitant when submitting the divorce report. Huo Zhengye now only felt pain in his face.
In less than a month, he will go to the political commissar tomorrow and demand a divorce even if he has to take off his military uniform!
But now is not the time to blame anyone. Grandma is missing and she must be found.
Fortunately, the entrance and exit of the compound are strictly controlled, and grandma probably can’t get out. She is probably somewhere in the compound, and it’s only a matter of time before we find her. Just hope everyone is okay.
Huo Zhengye was familiar with the route of the compound. He pointed in a direction and said to Huo Miaoyue, “Go in this direction and look for someone. Come back when you find them.”
Huo Miaoyue really wanted to go in and rest, but she had to nod and pretend to be anxious.
“Cousin, I’ll be there right away. Don’t worry, Nai will be fine.”
Huo Zhengye nodded and went in the opposite direction to look for someone.
He didn’t think of knocking on the door, nor did he think of asking Shu Wan to help look for it.
Huo Zhengye and Huo Miaoyue started searching from two paths, one on the left and one on the right.
On the middle road, Shu Wan helped the old lady home.
On the way, Shu Wan asked about the old lady’s situation, where she lived, who was there, what her name was, and how to contact her.
He knows nothing about anything.
The old lady was not honest either. She picked flowers on the road and pinned them to Shu Wan’s ears, “So beautiful! Our Xixi is so beautiful!”
Shu Wan smiled.
The old lady smiled like a flower, “Xixi likes it! Sister will make a wreath for you.”
Shu Wan quickly stopped the old lady and said, “No more.”
She was no longer a child and was too old to wear garlands.
To be honest, let alone the wreath and the flowers on her ears, everything else about her was a bit embarrassing.
The old lady pouted and said unhappily, “Don’t you ask your sister to make a wreath for you every day? Don’t you like me anymore?”
“I like it, I like everything you do.”
Everyone likes to hear nice words, and the old lady is no exception.
The old lady immediately smiled, walked and stopped along the way, and when she saw a flower she liked, she would walk a few more steps to pick it.
The journey that was supposed to take only a few minutes took half an hour.
After the wreath was made, the old lady said she wanted Shu Wan to wear it.
The old lady has good skills. The wreaths she made are well-arranged and very beautiful.
The original embarrassment was slightly reduced when I saw the beautiful wreath, but it was only a little bit. It was still a bit embarrassing to wear it on my head.
The old lady was very satisfied and kept praising her, “Beautiful, Xixi is so beautiful!”
Shu Wan blushed and felt embarrassed.
“I want one too, to be a couple with Xixi.”
Shu Wan was afraid that the old lady would be tired, so she quickly stopped her and said, “Grandma, I’ll make one for you.”
She asked the old lady to sit on a stone to rest while she picked flowers and weaved. Soon a beautiful wreath was made and she put it on the old lady’s head.
The old lady liked it very much. She wanted to touch it but was afraid that the petals would fall off, so she looked conflicted.
Shu Wan smiled and said, “Grandma, let’s go home.”
“Okay, let’s go home.” The old lady took Shu Wan’s hand and said with a smile.
The two of them were walking and almost reached home. From a distance, Shu Wan saw Huo Zhengye. Maybe he had something urgent to do, so he stood at the door for a while and then left.
She originally wanted to prepare a good meal in the evening as a farewell dinner.
Judging from his frowning brow, it is unknown whether he will come back for dinner.
Thinking about it, the two walked to the gate of the courtyard. Shu Wan took out the key to open the door, while the old lady looked around curiously.
With a click.
The door unlocked, the old lady cheered, and pulled Shu Wan inside.
Huo Zhengye and his companion searched until dark, but still couldn’t find Grandma Huo.
“Cousin, grandma may have come to her senses and gone home on her own.” Huo Miaoyue couldn’t help but say.
After searching for several times, her legs were sore and painful that she really didn’t want to look for it anymore.
Huo Zhengye’s face was dim in the dim light, and his aura was intimidating.
He said nothing and walked forward with big strides.
It is the direction of home.
Huo Miaoyue gritted her teeth and followed.
When he pushed open the gate, he saw the old man smiling happily facing the hall, and Huo Zhengye’s expression visibly relaxed.
Huo Miaoyue shouted in surprise, “Grandma!”
