Chapter 24: A Very Large Lu Siyi
Mother and daughter watched the father-in-law and son-in-law leave. Lin Qingyue pouted and complained, “I think Lu Siyi is your biological son, and Lin Hao and I are adopted.”
“What nonsense are you talking about? We’re good to him because he’s good to you,” Lin’s mother scolded, tapping her forehead. “You can’t be so ungrateful.”
“No, I’m just jealous of Lu Siyi,” Lin Qingyue said coquettishly.
Lin’s mother burst into laughter, helplessly shaking her head. “You, even after getting married, you still haven’t grown up.”
Lin Qingyue blinked. Her performance today had passed muster with her parents, making it much easier to ask for money later.
Lin’s mother looked at Lin Qingyue’s happy expression with relief. “Actually, your father and I weren’t optimistic about Lu Siyi at first. He’s older than you and has been in the army for many years. He’s not a good husband.”
“Most importantly, he has three children. You’ll be a stepmother as soon as you marry him. It’s really too much for you,” Lin’s mother said, wiping away tears. “Your father and I can’t bear to see you suffer like this.”
“Mom, aren’t Lu Siyi and I doing well now?” Lin Qingyue comforted her. “Lu Siyi is an upright person; he won’t make things difficult for anyone.”
“Yes, after meeting him today, your father and I are relieved,” Lin’s mother sighed in relief.
“Stay here tonight.”
“Huh?” Lin Qingyue was puzzled. Was there such a custom?
“How long has it been since you’ve been home? Stay at your parents’ house for a night; your husband won’t object, right?” Lin’s mother smiled.
“Okay…” Lin Qingyue paused, then asked, “Should we prepare a room for Lu Siyi?”
Lin’s mother patted her forehead. “You’re a couple, and you’re newlyweds. Is it appropriate for you to sleep separately?”
“Sleep in the room you had before you got married.” Lin’s mother continued washing the dishes quickly.
“Okay…then…” If she remembered correctly, Lin Qingyue’s pre-marriage room had a 1.5m x 1.8m single bed.
Lu Siyi was 1.88 meters tall, and they would have to squeeze together…
The image was too beautiful; she dared not imagine it.
That night, after Lin Qingyue finished washing up, Lu Siyi hadn’t returned. She turned over to sleep, and in a daze, she felt the mattress sink beside her. She subconsciously moved inward.
“Who won between you and my dad?” she mumbled sleepily.
“Your dad won.” Lu Siyi replied softly.
It was a joke. How could he possibly let his father-in-law beat him?
“My dad always wins. Isn’t it boring?” Lin Qingyue was suddenly wide awake, propping herself up to look at him curiously.
“We didn’t just play chess; we also chatted.” Lu Siyi started unbuttoning his shirt.
Lin Qingyue watched openly, without any embarrassment. “What did you talk about?”
“Many things, the country’s development, work, and how to get along as a couple.” Lu Siyi looked at her deeply, his voice tinged with tenderness.
She immediately became alert. “Don’t forget, we have an agreement, and it hasn’t been a week yet!”
Lu Siyi’s eyes darkened. The agreement was just to make her happy; he really didn’t like it.
“I know.”
As he spoke, he lay down beside Lin Qingyue.
A very large Lu Siyi, squeezed onto the small bed, looked a little pitiful.
Lin Qingyue sighed. “Who told me I’m so kind-hearted?”
With that, she burrowed into Lu Siyi’s arms like a fish. “Doesn’t this save space?”
She also turned off the light.
Lu Siyi’s breathing was heavy. He lowered his head to find her lips, but Lin Qingyue stopped him in time. “Abstinence!”
“……”
She could see him, hug him, but not kiss him.
In the dark night, Lu Siyi looked at the soft and fragrant woman in his arms with dissatisfaction, enduring with difficulty.
The next morning, Lin Qingyue opened her eyes and saw Lu Siyi’s gentle gaze falling on her, his eyes full of complex emotions.
She immediately sat up and quickly put on her clothes. “It’s time to make breakfast. I’ll go to the kitchen to help my mother.”
With that, she disappeared from Lu Siyi’s sight in a flash.
Lin’s mother had already prepared breakfast. Lin Qingyue went to get the bowls and chopsticks. When she came back, Lu Siyi was already sitting at the dining table, next to Lin’s father.
The two of them chatted familiarly, as if they were real father and son.
Lin Hao glared fiercely at Lu Siyi, his eyes as if he wanted to devour Lu Siyi alive.
Lu Siyi, accustomed to the storms of life, gave him a cold glance, and Lin Hao immediately felt a chill down his spine, his breath catching in his throat, and he coughed violently.
“What’s wrong with you, child?” Lin’s mother asked with concern.
“Nothing, I just forgot to chew the bun in my mouth,” Lin Hao answered awkwardly, not daring to look at Lu Siyi.
His brother-in-law seemed to only be gentle and harmless when facing his sister and parents.
His gaze was terrifying. He shuddered.
After breakfast, Lin’s father continued chatting with Lu Siyi in the living room, the two seeming to have endless things to talk about.
Lin Qingyue wisely helped Lin’s mother clear the table. While washing dishes, Lin Hao quietly approached her and asked, “Sister, when are you going to give it to me?”
“What? What are you asking your sister for again?” Lin’s mother said impatiently.
“Mom, this is between me and my sister. Don’t interfere.”
Lin Qingyue stopped washing, rubbing her shoulders. “My shoulders are a little sore!”
“Sister, go to the living room and rest; I’ll take care of the kitchen work,” Lin Hao said, patting his chest. “Mom, you and Sister go out and rest!”
“The sun must have risen in the west. When did you become so obedient to your sister?” Lin’s mother looked at the siblings in confusion.
“I’ve always been my sister’s good brother.” Lin Hao said, pushing the two out of the kitchen.
Lin’s father watched mother and daughter being driven out of the kitchen and looked at them strangely.
“What kind of look is that? Your son has grown up.” Lin’s mother looked at Lin’s father with relief.
Feeling that things weren’t that simple, Lin’s father frowned and asked, “You wouldn’t have some kind of leverage over him, would you?”
“How did you become a father? You don’t trust your own son?” Lin’s mother rolled her eyes at Lin’s father.
Lin Qingyue hesitantly pulled out an IOU from her pocket. “Dad, actually, I came home this time for another reason. I want to talk to you about Lin Hao. He borrowed money from me, saying he has a girlfriend. This is the IOU he wrote. Take a look.”
Lin’s father glanced at the IOU and his blood pressure surged. “This good-for-nothing, borrowed a thousand yuan for a girlfriend! Was he being taken advantage of?”
“What IOU?” Lin’s mother didn’t believe her son could do such a thing.
“Look for yourself, the good son you raised!” Lin’s father was furious and shouted towards the kitchen, “Lin Hao, get out here!”
