The man found a little time traveler and was very pleased.
Although this little time traveler was quite useless, she had a talent for drawing talismans.
As a celestial master, he needed various talismans, and she seemed to be made for him.
However, he quickly realized his miscalculation.
This little time traveler spent every day sitting quietly, neither eating nor drinking, and would often cry, appearing to want to die.
Seeing the untouched food he had sent her once again, he sighed, “Do you really want to go back so badly?”
Mentioning the word “return,” the little time traveler, who was curled up in the corner of the bed, stirred slightly and, with a hoarse voice, said, “I miss him.”
“Love is such a fleeting thing. As a time traveler, you shouldn’t be hindered by such things.”
Ning Qiuxui began to cry again.
“Damn it, I’m really…” The man was utterly exasperated. “Fine, fine, fine, little ancestor, I’m afraid of you. I’ll send you back.”
Ning Qiuxui suddenly looked up, her face full of joy. “Really!”
“But, you have to pay a price for that.”
“What price?”
“First, you can’t travel through time anymore. If you die in that world, you die.”
Ning Qiuxui nodded vigorously.
Being a time traveler was never her intention anyway.
“Second, you won’t be able to use any of your time-traveling skills, like drawing talismans.”
Ning Qiuxui nodded again.
The only significant use of her skills was the strength-enhancing talisman.
Since she wouldn’t be portraying a strong character in the future, she wasn’t worried.
“And finally…” The man’s voice dragged on.
Ning Qiuxui looked at him nervously.
The man smiled and pulled out several stacks of talisman paper from his sleeve. “You have to draw 9999 talismans for me before you can leave, otherwise, I’ll be at a huge loss.”
Ning Qiuxui: “……”
……
“Brother, go rest. I’ll keep watch here. I’ll let you know the moment she wakes up.”
Zhan Qingyuan saw his elder brother sitting by the bed with a stern expression.
In just three days, he had become much more haggard.
Fearing for his health, he came to relieve him.
“I’m fine,” Zhan Qingyue’s voice was hoarse. “How are things going?”
“Xiao Chii said that Ning… Sister-in-law stayed behind to rehearse with Jia Hanxu. It’s certain that this incident is related to Jia Hanxu.
However, Jia Hanxu herself has disappeared. Her agent and company don’t know where she went.
The surveillance footage of the building didn’t show any other suspicious characters.
We don’t know if she acted alone or had accomplices.
We can only wait for Sister-in-law to wake up to piece together the truth.”
Zhan Qingyue looked at the person lying in bed.
Although the doctor had said that she only had a concussion from a head injury, three days had passed and she showed no signs of waking up.
When Ning Qiuxiu had called him that day, he only heard her urgent voice say “Qingyue” before the call was quickly ended.
When he tried to call back, no one answered.
He sensed that something was wrong and immediately called the production team to find out where Ning Qiuxiu might be.
He also quickly contacted his detective friend for help.
But even with his abilities, he couldn’t help her in time.
By the time he arrived by plane, Ning Qiuxiu had already been taken to the hospital.
Luckily, she had managed to escape on her own, or he didn’t want to think about the consequences.
“Continue searching for Jia Huanxu until you find her,” Zhan Qingyue said coldly.
Zhan Qingyuan had always seen his older brother as gentle and approachable.
Even when he was angry, he rarely showed a cold face.
But now, Zhan Qingyue’s expression had been cold for three days, and he was both worried and feeling a bit sour.
He looked at the person in bed, wondering why his brother was so attracted to her.
Although Zhan Qingyue had been surrounded by beautiful and interesting women before, none had moved him like Ning Qiuxiu.
As he was lost in thought, the person in bed suddenly moved her finger.
“Brother, her finger is moving!” Zhan Qingyuan exclaimed.
Zhan Qingyue quickly looked at Ning Qiuxiu.
Her long eyelashes were fluttering as if she was trying to open her eyes.
“Call the doctor,” Zhan Qingyue ordered, his voice showing some emotion for the first time.
He took Ning Qiuxiu’s bandaged hand, holding his breath and watching her closely.
After a while, her eyes finally opened, showing confusion and fragility.
“Qiuxiu.” Zhan Qingyue smiled and leaned down to kiss her forehead. “You’re awake.”
“I…” Ning Qiuxiu’s voice was hoarse and she couldn’t speak, but she mouthed the words, “I’m finally back, Qingyue.”
Tears streamed down her face. “I’m back.”
She didn’t know if her return was a dream or reality, but she was truly back in this world, next to Zhan Qingyue.
She wouldn’t… leave again.
Zhan Qingyue understood her words, his heart aching with compassion.
He leaned down to kiss her dry lips and comforted her, “Yes, you’re back. You’re okay now.”
Zhan Qingyuan called the doctor, and when he saw the intimate moment between the two, he cleared his throat loudly.
Zhan Qingyue then gave her a gentle kiss on the corner of her eye and let the doctor examine her.
Ning Qiuxiu didn’t have any serious injuries, just some bruises from rolling down the stairs and a minor concussion from hitting her head.
After lying unconscious for three days, her body had mostly healed on its own.
Zhan Qingyue gave her some water and porridge.
Although she still felt dizzy and couldn’t get up yet, she was otherwise in better shape.
Zhan Qingyue felt relieved.
Even though the doctor assured him that she was fine, seeing Ning Qiuxiu unconscious for three days had been a strain on everyone.
Regarding Ning Qiuxui’s injury, Zhan Qingyue had not informed her parents to avoid worrying them.
Now that she had woken up, he wanted her to call them and let them know she was safe.
“Mom, I miss you.”
“Ugh,” Mrs. Ning shuddered at being suddenly addressed like this and said, “You little brat, suddenly being so sentimental. With that aggrieved tone, did Qingyue bully you?”
“No,” Ning Qiuxui chuckled lightly, her tone carrying a hint of coquettishness, “I just miss you.”
“Oh dear, still being so affectionate at your age. Aren’t you afraid of being laughed at?”
Returning to this world, Ning Qiuxui found everything precious, even the slightly sharp tone of Mrs. Ning sounded particularly endearing.
After chatting for a bit, she hung up the phone and looked at Zhan Qingyue.
They exchanged smiles, and just as Zhan Qingyue was about to approach her affectionately, San Tiao walked in.
“Finally awake,” San Tiao sighed with relief upon seeing her sitting up. “It’s good that you’re okay.”
“San Tiao,” Ning Qiuhui smiled at her. “I’m sorry for making you worry.”
“It was my mistake in handling your protection. I will strengthen your personal security measures in the future to prevent such incidents from happening again,” San Tiao took responsibility and added, “So, who was the mastermind? Did you see the real culprit?”
Ning Qiuxui’s expression changed slightly as she whispered, “It was Fan Yanliang. He and Jia Hanxu plotted it together.”
She then described the scene, including how she was tricked by Jia Hanxu, what Fan Yanliang intended to do, and how she managed to escape.
“It was him.” San Tiao seemed thoughtful after hearing this.
“Isn’t there direct evidence?” Ning Qiuxui recalled how Fan Yanliang wore gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints, suggesting he came prepared.
Otherwise, openly drugging her and filming inappropriate content would be a reckless act, as if he wasn’t afraid of ending up in jail.
“It’s okay,” Zhan Qingyue’s voice was unusually cold, “I have other evidence that will make him pay with his life. It’s enough to bring him down.”
Ning Qiuxui felt disgusted thinking about him and clenched her fist. “He must be made to pay dearly!”
“Alright, make him pay dearly.” Zhan Qingyue embraced her, kissed her hair, and smiled.
Seeing the couple being affectionate, San Tiao knew her presence was no longer needed.
She reminded Ning Qiuxui to rest well and not to worry too much, and that she would handle the situation with the crew before leaving, giving the couple some space.
Ning Qiuxui was still recovering and felt a bit drowsy after talking for so long and eating.
Noticing Zhan Qingyue’s haggard appearance, she realized he had likely not slept well over the past three days she had been unconscious.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and said, “Let’s go to sleep, okay?”
Zhan Qingyue helped her lie down. “You sleep.”
He had to deal with Fan Yanliang first.
He was determined to make him pay for his actions.
Ning Qiuxiu reached out and tugged on his shirt, looking at him with intense eyes.
Zhan Qingyue, unable to resist, took off his clothes and lay down next to her.
Ning Qiuxiu happily rolled into his arms, found a comfortable spot, and closed her eyes.
Zhan Qingyue looked at the person in his arms, smiling silently.
He kissed her forehead and closed his eyes.
After not having much rest for the past three days, lying in a warm bed with the person he loved in his arms made him feel at peace, and he soon fell asleep.
They both slept until dark.
When Zhan Qingyue woke up, he felt a slight tickle on his face and gradually became aware that his girlfriend was subtly taking advantage of him.
He didn’t open his eyes, letting Ning Qiuxiu continue her gentle mischief until… her restless hand started poking his face.
Zhan Qingyue caught her hand and opened his eyes, saying, “Miss Ning, you’ve woken me up.”
“Don’t think I can’t tell you’re pretending,” Ning Qiuxiu said with a chuckle. “Don’t forget, I’m a professional actress.”
Seeing her smug expression, Zhan Qingyue was relieved that she hadn’t been affected by the recent events and was still her cute and lively self.
He asked softly, “Feeling better?”
“I’m fine,” Ning Qiuxiu said as she rolled over. “Look at me, full of energy.”
“Then I have a question for you.”
Seeing his suddenly serious tone made Ning Qiuxiu a bit nervous.
She said, “Go ahead, ask.”
“When you were in trouble, I checked your WeChat for investigation purposes and saw a contact note saying ‘Abstinence for six months.’”
Ning Qiuxiu: “……”
“So, Mrs. Zhan,” Zhan Qingyue asked with a smile in his eyes, “how much of that six months has passed? I need to be prepared.”
Ning Qiuxiu: “……………”
“Are you…?” Ning Qiuxiu glanced suspiciously at the blanket. “Not okay?”
Zhan Qingyue: “???”
