Chapter 14: Re-infusion
While Xi Ming was in deep thought, Shi Chan was carefully using his spiritual awareness to examine Xi Ming’s body, focusing on his legs and checking several times. After a while, his brows furrowed.
Xi Ming’s condition inside was more complicated than Shi Chan had imagined.
Initially, Shi Chan thought that the issue with Xi Ming was simply his inability to handle cosmic radiation. However, upon further examination, Shi Chan discovered that the destructive energy inside Xi Ming wasn’t just one kind, but three.
These three types of destructive energy were counteracting each other while also draining Xi Ming’s own energy, causing his physical condition to deteriorate. Even worse, if any one of these energies was weakened carelessly, it could destroy the original balance and accelerate the erosion of Xi Ming’s body.
The three energies, while balanced, were constantly in conflict, with the dissipating energy leaking into Xi Ming’s body—especially in his legs, which had never fully healed.
Cosmic radiation was only one of the energies, and although Shi Chan hadn’t seen other patients affected by it, from the characteristics of the three types of energy, he could guess which one was cosmic radiation. It was the one with the most explosive energy, constantly causing erratic destruction. In fact, most of the pain in Xi Ming’s body was caused by the radiation energy.
The other two energies were different: one was relatively calm but insidiously poisonous, looking like the effect of some kind of drug, with its toxicity spreading and eroding outward; the third energy, though similar to the one Shi Chan had seen in demonic pills, was pure but uncontrolled. It both damaged Xi Ming’s body and tried to repair it, though the healing effect was far less than the destruction caused by all three energies combined.
Shi Chan silently withdrew his spiritual awareness.
If they were in the cultivation world, Xi Ming’s injuries would be serious but not fatal. In the cultivation world, there were elixirs and herbs that could heal the body, and even if the physical body was destroyed, as long as the soul remained, the body could be rebuilt. After examining Xi Ming, Shi Chan thought of several kinds of elixirs that could resolve Xi Ming’s physical issues.
However, this wasn’t the cultivation world, and there were no elixirs here.
In his past life, Shi Chan had been a wandering cultivator and didn’t know how to refine elixirs. His knowledge of them was limited to names and effects, but the formulas and refining techniques were passed down by alchemists, and Shi Chan had never had the opportunity to learn them, let alone refine them himself.
Apart from elixirs, there were other methods—Shi Chan had once accidentally obtained a cultivation method that contained ways to refine poisonous energies. However, he had only ever refined his own demonic energy and hadn’t tested it on others. If he failed to control it properly, it could destroy the balance within Xi Ming, making his condition even worse.
But Shi Chan thought to himself that, despite the difficulty, it was still better than giving up completely.
After retracting his spiritual awareness, Shi Chan refocused on Xi Ming’s spiritual energy, carefully soothing it.
After the previous day’s adjustments, Xi Ming’s spiritual energy had improved significantly, making it easier for Shi Chan to work on it.
However, Shi Chan’s attention was soon diverted by a hand on his back.
He couldn’t see, but he could feel the hand moving through his hair. Xi Ming’s fingertips were slightly warmer, and when they brushed against his skin, it sent a fleeting shiver through him.
The hand that had originally been resting on Shi Chan’s abdomen had now moved to his waist due to their change in posture, with only the fingertips still touching his soft abdomen through his clothes, creating subtle indentations.
Shi Chan rarely allowed himself to be so close to anyone. From the moment he was held and seated, his body had stiffened, and he hadn’t relaxed even when he was examining Xi Ming. Now, although his body wasn’t sore, it still felt uncomfortable.
The hand on his back continued to stroke him gently, and the presence of the palm on his waist was unmistakable. Shi Chan hesitated for a moment, mentally preparing himself before slowly loosening his stiff upper body and gradually relaxing against Xi Ming’s chest. His ears, however, secretly flushed with a faint redness.
Xi Ming noticed the subtle shift in Shi Chan’s body and realized that Shi Chan had pulled back his powerful spiritual energy. His heart grew even more curious.
Shi Chan was unaware of Xi Ming’s thoughts, and after relaxing into his arms, he focused all his attention on soothing Xi Ming’s spiritual energy, ignoring everything else. Soon, the session ended.
Xi Ming’s headache symptoms subsided again.
After retracting his spiritual awareness, Shi Chan raised his head and asked, “How’s your headache? Better?”
This time, Xi Ming didn’t make Shi Chan wait and quickly replied, “Much better. Thank you for your hard work.” His eyes, however, held a trace of inquiry.
Shi Chan smiled slightly and shook his head, “It’s nothing. If you need anything, just call me.”
He couldn’t solve Xi Ming’s three types of energy for now, but he could stabilize his spiritual energy, which would ease Xi Ming’s pain.
As for refining the energy, that would require careful testing, and being near Xi Ming was certainly the best situation.
Xi Ming didn’t respond directly to Shi Chan’s words, but looked down at the obedient omega in his arms and changed the topic, “What are your plans for the future?”
“Plans?” Shi Chan, who had been idle for two years and had been quite happy with it, pondered for a moment, feeling a bit uncertain and hesitant. He looked up at Xi Ming, testing, “Well, I don’t really have any plans… is that okay?”
Shi Chan had gotten used to a comfortable and leisurely life and didn’t want to find a job and work hard after marriage. He felt that he had already exhausted all his energy in the cultivation world during his two lifetimes.
Also, Shi Chan knew that many alphas in the imperial capital didn’t want their omega to work. Of course, if Xi Ming were the opposite, Shi Chan wouldn’t mind; after all, jobs suited for omega weren’t demanding.
As long as he didn’t face danger, Shi Chan was quite easygoing and didn’t have many unchangeable principles. Among omega, he was well-known for being “gentle and considerate”—if tolerating and accommodating his omega friends’ frequent little whims counted as being considerate.
“Of course, that’s fine,” Xi Ming glanced at Shi Chan, clearly satisfied with his answer. After all, he still needed Shi Chan’s spiritual energy, and work, no matter how light, would never be as convenient as staying at home.
Thinking about how his home would soon have a quiet and obedient omega, Xi Ming’s eyes deepened, and his thumb gently stroked Shi Chan’s neck.
Shi Chan relaxed and smiled, silently allowing Xi Ming’s actions on his body.
To Shi Chan, since they were already married, he wouldn’t refuse if Xi Ming wanted to permanently mark him. He might not be used to the closeness, but he would try to adapt.
Xi Ming was quite pleased with Shi Chan’s obedient state. He looked at Shi Chan’s fair neck, where there were subtle and ambiguous bite marks, and couldn’t help but lower his head to sniff.
The scent of Shi Chan’s pheromones had already grown faint.
This was normal, as omega pheromones were much more reserved than alpha pheromones. They only appeared during heat or when influenced by an alpha’s emotions—being bitten on the gland was a quick way to release pheromones. Normally, even if present, the scent was faint.
Not detecting Shi Chan’s lingering pheromones, Xi Ming grew a little dissatisfied. His gaze lingered on the pale, delicate skin, especially the faint marks from yesterday’s bite.
In the next second, Xi Ming lowered his head.
At the same time, Shi Chan felt his neck being bitten, and his body froze for a moment. He followed the pressure and direction of Xi Ming’s arms and leaned into him, surrounded by the growing scent of Xi Ming’s alpha pheromones.
What had started as a simple conversation quickly escalated as Xi Ming bit down on Shi Chan’s gland. The air became thick with alpha pheromones, and Shi Chan hesitated but ultimately gave in, relaxing his body, wrapping his arms around Xi Ming’s waist, and closing his eyes to accept the influx of pheromones.
He realized… he quite liked the scent of Xi Ming’s pheromones.
Soon, Xi Ming smelled Shi Chan’s pheromones, which mixed with his own, spreading from Shi Chan’s body, surrounding them both, obedient and docile like Shi Chan himself.
Watching the omega, now infused with his pheromones, Xi Ming’s emotions surged. He suddenly grabbed Shi Chan’s chin, forcing him to look up.
Shi Chan, still in that position, opened his eyes, confused, breathing slightly faster due to the pheromones being released again. Strands of hair stuck to his white, graceful face, and his neck, from the pressure of Xi Ming’s actions, seemed fragile and elongated.
His already stunning, alluring appearance, coupled with his current helpless and submissive expression, became even more tempting. The scent of pheromones wasn’t sickly sweet, but it was clear and enticing.
Xi Ming’s grip on Shi Chan’s hand tightened as he slowly leaned in.
The atmosphere was charged with tension. Shi Chan, though his heartbeat had quickened, did not make any move…
According to statistics on the star network, 73% of omega desired their first kiss to be a tender, shy experience with an alpha from school, full of gentle protection and dreams for the future—this was the idealized version of love for most omega.
But the kiss now was anything but tender—it was aggressive, intense, and possessive, with Xi Ming’s hands firmly holding Shi Chan’s neck, not allowing any escape.
Shi Chan, with no experience in love and no cultivation techniques to help in kissing, could only focus on keeping his breathing steady amidst the overwhelming attack, his body retreating and yielding to Xi Ming. This made it even easier for Xi Ming to dominate.
The room filled with omega pheromones, and faint, muffled moans would occasionally mix with their breathing, creating a burning atmosphere.
At least… the alpha in the wheelchair was burning.
Noticing the changes in Xi Ming’s body, Shi Chan’s previously relaxed form became stiff again. He wanted to speak but didn’t know what to say, so he only closed his mouth, silently moving his tongue, trying to calm his racing heart.
Xi Ming, ignoring his own condition, breathed heavily, gently stroking Shi Chan’s head, his voice low, “I’ll take you back to your room.”
Using his terminal to control the wheelchair, Xi Ming escorted the omega to his room. After returning to his own bedroom, Xi Ming glanced down, his mind flashing back to how Shi Chan had quietly and submissively endured. His breathing grew heavier, and he turned the wheelchair, heading straight for the bathroom.
