Chapter 162: Seeking Praise

“Cough, so, what did you do to Gu Zhenguo?” Hu Meili asked curiously.

“He was crying and begging for mercy, his face was bruised and swollen.”

Lin Xiangnan said proudly, “I guarantee that when Gu Chouni sees him, she’ll be heartbroken.”

“Good job.”

Hu Meili felt no anger at all. “If Gu Chouni hadn’t run away today, I would have fought her. What a piece of trash! She really thought I, Hu Meili, was a pushover. She should have looked into my past reputation.”

“You must be tired from the trip. Come sit down and rest. Mom has been baking sweet potatoes in the stove, eat them while they’re hot.”

Hu Meili not only handed Lin Xiangnan a baked sweet potato, but also peeled the skin off it for her.

Just a little effort, and she received the highest level of family treatment.

The beating Gu Zhenguo received was worth it.

Lin Xiangnan happily took the baked sweet potato. “Mom, don’t worry. When your son-in-law comes back, he’ll go again and take revenge for you.”

Old people deal with old people, young people deal with young people, everyone has their own opponent, don’t break the rules.

Lin Xiangnan didn’t care about that. “If Gu Fugen hadn’t been acting like a jerk in front of me, I would have beaten him too.”

It’s not that Lin Xiangnan was being arrogant, it’s just that the police didn’t really care about family matters.

Even if they fought until they were bloody, as long as no one died, the police would let them handle it themselves, at most they would ask the neighborhood committee to mediate.

The composure on Gu Zhenhua’s face disappeared, replaced by arrogance and defiance, like a soldier.

“Why are you only eating cabbage?” Lin Xiangnan stood beside Gu Zhenhua, her aura no less imposing.

They just showed up, they hadn’t even done anything yet, Gu Zhenguo’s hand trembled and he accidentally dropped the bowl in his hand. The whole family became flustered.

“Third brother, you’re here. Why did you come alone, didn’t you bring the grandson?”

Lin Xiangnan didn’t even need to do anything, she just stood at the door, blocking it so no one could escape.

The neighbors around peeked and listened with their ears stretched out.

“Who’s making trouble… ouch…” Gu Chouni was unconvinced and wanted to argue with Lin Xiangnan, but Gu Zhenhua tripped her with his foot.

No one could interrupt Lin Xiangnan’s performance!

After finishing her performance, Gu Zhenhua turned to Lin Xiangnan and asked for praise.
