Chapter 174: Complaint
Arguments between husband and wife are common.
In the past, Luo Caixia would always be the one to back down during arguments because she felt insecure. But things were different now, she had a job.
“Come on, hit me, hit me in the face,” Luo Caixia said with a sneer, “Go ahead and hit me. I’m not afraid of being embarrassed. Even if I have a slap mark on my face, it won’t affect my work. I want people to see what kind of person you are.”
If Captain Wang dared to hit her, she would immediately go to the Women’s Federation at her workplace for support.
The leaders on the military side would always side with the men and try to smooth things over, but the Women’s Federation at the union would stand up for them female comrades.
“You’re just being unreasonable. You slander me, and you slander other female comrades, affecting their reputation. When they come looking for you, you’ll be the one who gets beaten up.” Captain Wang retorted.
Captain Wang’s dirty deeds were already a thorn in Luo Caixia’s heart. Seeing him like this, her anger flared up even more.
Luo Caixia tried to hold back, but she couldn’t. She let out a loud cry, rushed forward, grabbed Captain Wang’s hair, and scratched his face with her nails.
“You shameless old thing! I spit on you!”
“Are you crazy?” Captain Wang, in pain, pushed Luo Caixia away.
He didn’t control his strength, and Luo Caixia fell to the ground with a thud.
She let out an “ouch”, feeling like her tailbone was about to break, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Captain Wang’s ruthlessness chilled Luo Caixia to the bone.
She was not going to back down. Fueled by her anger, she got up and continued to scratch him fiercely.
“You, Wang! I’m going to fight you! I gave birth to your children, took care of the house, and this is how you treat me?”
“Give birth to children? Where is your son? You only gave me a money-losing daughter.”
Captain Wang never had any affection for Luo Caixia. Seeing her unrepentant, he angrily kicked her away.
This time, Luo Caixia clutched her stomach and lay on the ground, unable to get up for a long time.
Their sudden fight scared the children in the house.
The youngest daughter, Wang He, was so scared that she cried loudly, calling for her “mama” repeatedly.
“What are you crying for? If you cry again, I’ll deal with you too.” Captain Wang warned impatiently.
Even a one-year-old child could read people’s expressions. After being scolded by Captain Wang, Wang He sobbed softly, looking pitiful.
Luo Caixia’s heart ached with every sob.
She knew that Captain Wang didn’t like daughters, only sons, but knowing it was one thing, seeing it was another.
She had planned to have another son for Captain Wan gin the next two years so that he would settle down. But his attitude towards her made her unable to swallow her anger.
Seeing Luo Caixia lying on the ground unable to get up, Wang He timidly looked at Captain Wang and wanted to reach out to her, “Mama…”
Captain Wang roared, “No one is allowed to touch her.”
As soon as he spoke, Wang Bao stopped moving timidly.
“She’s been making a fuss for so long, she should reflect on herself. If she continues to be so indulgent, she’ll be riding on my head and taking a dump. She’s really gone crazy.”
He glanced coldly at Luo Caixia, tugged at his collar, and went upstairs to change clothes in a fit of annoyance.
Captain Wang, as a father, had great authority in the family. Even if he wasn’t present, Wang Bao dared not move.
Wang Hu looked at Luo Caixia with glee and pulled Wang Bao away, “Dad said no touching. Let’s go out and play.”
“But mama…”
“What mama? It’s a stepmother, not a real mother.” Wang Hu whispered to his sister, quickly pulling her out.
Over the past year, Luo Caixia had forced Wang Hu to be hygienic and polite, but she couldn’t force him to love her as a stepmother from the bottom of his heart.
The fact that he didn’t come to gloat was already the result of Luo Caixia’s year of careful education.
Two years ago, when Luo Caixia first married into the family, Wang Hu might have joined Captain Wang in cursing her.
In the living room, only Luo Caixia and Wang He, who was still crying, remained.
“Mama hug…” Wang He reached out to Luo Caixia, wanting a hug.
“Xiao He, don’t cry, mama will hug you soon.”
Luo Caixia gritted her teeth, got up with difficulty, moved to Wang He’s side, and comforted her in a gentle voice, “Good girl, don’t cry, mama is fine.”
“Mama blow blow~~ pain pain fly fly~~”
Luo Caixia’s tears finally broke, falling one after another, and she muttered to herself, “Forget it, forget it, this man is Xiao He’s biological father after all, even if it’s for Xiao He…”
Luo Caixia would endure the major issues, but she wasn’t going to let the minor ones slide.
The next day, after Captain Wang beat her, she went to complain to the comrades at the Women’s Federation at the factory.
“We’re all women, I won’t hide it. You can see my injuries.”
Saying that, Luo Caixia lifted her clothes, revealing the bruises on her stomach, making everyone gasp in shock.
“Old Wang wants to kick me to death!” Luo Caixia cried.
When it was time to get off work, the comrades from the Women’s Federation came to uphold justice for Luo Caixia.
Lin Xiangnan was playing with his children at Aunt Hua’s house. Seeing this, he stuffed the children into Aunt Hua’s arms, “You hold them for me, I’ll go see what’s going on.”
“Hurry up. Your eldest son is stubborn, if he starts looking for you, I won’t be able to coax him.” Aunt Hua didn’t like to get involved in other people’s business and sat still.
But her daughter-in-law, Chen Xiulan, was a kind-hearted person. Seeing this, she put down her work and went to Wang’s house with Lin Xiangnan.
It was already off-work time, and there were quite a few people watching the commotion at the door, but Political Commissar Xu and Gu Zhenhua stood at the entrance like door gods, driving people away.
“Go back, everyone. What’s there to see in other people’s family affairs?” Political Commissar Xu said disdainfully, “A bunch of old women, not doing anything serious, but running to watch the fun.”
No matter what Captain Wang did, they could criticize him privately, but they had to help him save face.
Although the whole family compound would probably know about this tomorrow, Political Commissar Xu still wanted to help cover it up.
Their words held weight, and the rest of the onlookers were sent away.
Chen Xiulan and Lin Xiangnan didn’t want to disobey their husbands, so they turned back halfway.
But Gu Zhenhua had heard everything. When he got home, without Lin Xiangnan asking, he volunteered to tell him.
“Old Wang beat his wife, and the comrades from the Women’s Federation came to visit.” Gu Zhenhua spat, “I never thought Old Wang was such a person, he actually beats his wife. Even my dad, who’s a rotten person, doesn’t beat his wife, but Old Wang does.”
“Luo Caixia is really getting better and better. She knows how to find someone to deal with Captain Wang.” Lin Xiangnan looked surprised.
“It’s just so-so, she didn’t hit the nail on the head. She didn’t go to our military leaders, she went to the Women’s Federation.”
Lin Xiangnan retorted, “How can you expect her to use a big move right away? With this incident, Captain Wang should be more cautious.”
