Chapter 3: Billions of Supplies Binding
Li Chunhua looked completely shocked and innocent, her eyes full of confusion—”She’s the one talking, why are you hitting me?”
Naturally, Chang Meili wouldn’t let go of this perfect opportunity to smear Chang Suisui. “Cousin, you’re going too far—”
“Smack!”
Chang Suisui, as if no one else was around, landed another slap right on Li Chunhua’s face.
Then she looked at her with an innocent expression. “See? She insisted you take the hit. This whole thing would’ve ended if she just admitted her fault. Tsk tsk…”
Li Chunhua was never the brightest to begin with—otherwise she wouldn’t have let Chang Meili use her as a pawn. Now, dazed from the beating, all she could think was that Chang Meili refused to back down just so she could get her beaten up.
Li Chunhua’s temper flared instantly. She lunged at Chang Meili, grabbing her by the hair.
“You damn Chang Meili! I treated you like a sister, and this is how you repay me?!”
Chang Suisui stood off to the side, indignantly adding fuel to the fire. “Exactly! So disloyal to your sister!”
Li Chunhua had strength to spare, and now that she was fuming, she yanked Chang Meili’s hair with the ferocity of a warrior uprooting willows. Chang Meili screamed in pain and forgot all about sisterly love as the two of them started to tear into each other.
Chang Suisui watched with great interest, while the other sent-down youths around them were stunned speechless. Everyone exchanged glances, no one daring to step in and break up the fight.
“Go, Chunhua! This kind of lying, scheming woman shouldn’t get off easy! I’m cheering for you!” Chang Suisui kept stoking the flames, but suddenly, she felt a sharp pang in her chest.
That feeling…
Her lips pressed together and her face paled slightly.
She glanced at the two fighting on the ground one more time, then turned and walked into a small room nearby, locking the door behind her.
In her previous life, she had awakened her spatial ability with that very sensation just now.
But she clearly remembered her space collapsing when she self-destructed.
She lay down on the bed, focusing on her quickening heartbeat and trying to regulate her breathing.
Soon, the familiar feeling returned.
“Enter.” She chanted in her mind, and with a flash, she appeared inside her space.
Chang Suisui was overjoyed—it was the same space from before her death!
What surprised her even more was that all her supplies were still here.
This was everything from the largest base on Blue Star—Morningstar Base. Beyond food, clothing, and shelter, it included medical supplies and scientific research materials.
If some people hadn’t wanted the apocalypse to continue and sided with zombies, their base wouldn’t have fallen.
And that person wouldn’t have…
Chang Suisui’s head suddenly throbbed. That person? Who?
Why did that thought come so naturally?
She tried to remember, but her memories from the moment of her self-destruction were blurred, as if… something important had been forgotten.
She shook her head and decided not to dwell on it for now. Instead, she took a closer look at her space.
That’s when she noticed—it had shrunk.
She followed her memory to a certain point and found that her space had been split in two by a hazy barrier. She couldn’t see clearly beyond it, nor could she cross over.
What’s going on?
While she was pondering, someone suddenly appeared in the other half of the space.
Chang Suisui froze. She’d missed her chance to hide.
“Damn you, Chang Suisui! I’ll never let you off!”
“That bitch! She got me hurt!”
From the angry muttering, she immediately knew—it was Chang Meili.
Which meant…
That part of the split space had become Chang Meili’s?
She recalled from the book that Chang Meili’s spatial ability came from a jade bracelet—which she had swindled from the original Chang Suisui.
With it, she navigated the black market of the 1970s, growing rich. The space even had a spiritual spring, which, though it couldn’t cure all diseases, was very effective against hidden and chronic injuries.
Chang Meili used this cheat to build powerful connections in the ’70s, paving the way for her future success.
Just as that thought crossed her mind, she saw Chang Meili walk up to the barrier between the spaces.
Chang Suisui couldn’t help but wonder how she would react upon seeing her.
But to her surprise, even though she was standing right there, Chang Meili seemed blind to her presence.
Chang Suisui raised an eyebrow in amusement.
She watched as Chang Meili crouched down and gently cupped the spring water in her hands, sipping it cautiously and reverently.
The way she treated it like a treasure showed just how precious the spiritual spring was to her.
Chang Suisui looked over at her own half of the spring, which trembled in sync. The corner of her mouth slowly lifted into a dazzling smile.
Since it was the same spring…
She wasn’t going to be polite.
She rummaged through her space, found a hoe, and started digging a trench, right in front of Chang Meili.
If she remembered right, the spring only produced a limited amount of water each day.
Which meant she had to make sure not a drop went to waste on Chang Meili.
It was one spring, split in two. So naturally, she wanted the whole thing.
She wasn’t going to leave Chang Meili the chance to use that water to win favors and build her little empire.
Besides, the jade bracelet had belonged to the original Chang Suisui. So technically, she wasn’t stealing—she was taking back what was hers.
If it weren’t for the fact that the bracelet had already bonded and couldn’t change ownership, she would’ve cut off Chang Meili’s wrist by now.
For now, she’d take the spring first. As for the rest of Chang Meili’s supplies?
She’d find a way to steal every last bit.
After all, it was her blood that awakened the space, same as in her past life.
Breaking that barrier?
Only a matter of time.
Completely unaware that her precious spring had already been targeted, Chang Meili left her space after drinking a few sips.
She had suffered such a huge loss to Chang Suisui earlier—she wasn’t going to let that woman off easily!
Was it possible that crazy woman found out she was the one who drugged her last night?
Impossible.
She had been so careful.
No way she could’ve found out.
Chang Meili comforted herself with that thought, slowly calming down.
If she hadn’t still needed Chang Suisui for her plans, she would’ve killed her already!
In her past life, she’d been blind and stupid to miss out on a man like Xie Jianguo. Heaven had given her this second chance to choose again.
This time, she was going to treat Xie Jianguo well, give him children, and become his commander’s wife.
It was just unfortunate that her rebirth hadn’t happened before the engagement switch with Chang Suisui.
In the past life, she’d worked so hard to convince her mother to talk the old lady into letting her switch engagements with Chang Suisui.
Now that the deal was already done, her only option was to destroy Chang Suisui—make sure she never touched her Jianguo!
Since Chang Suisui had failed to obediently let Er Laizi sleep with her last night, then she couldn’t blame her for being ruthless!
