Chapter 4: Wen Qingchuan: I Believe You
The child is alive!
The crowd erupted in loud applause.
Zhou Xinghua looked at this scene and at Shen Sangyu in disbelief.
Is this still the ignorant and self-indulgent Shen Sangyu?
Shen Sangyu ignored the voices of the people around her and their shocked expressions. At this time, Hu Zi’s stomach began to rise and fall, and she was completely relieved.
Cao Ruyue heard Hu Zi’s weak voice, and immediately cried while holding the child, constantly thanking Shen Sangyu.
She was somewhat glad that she did not listen to Zhou Xinghua and send him to the hospital directly; otherwise, her son might not have been saved.
Shen Sangyu performed CPR for nearly ten minutes, and now her hands were a little weak: “The child is not in danger of life for the time being, but we still need to rush to the hospital for observation for 24 hours.
After all, he has been in the water for so long, and we need to prevent other diseases.
Oh, by the way… take a chest X-ray, because I may have broken the child’s ribs to save his life.”
Cao Ruyue looked at Shen Sangyu like a benefactor and nodded quickly.
A military vehicle happened to stop by the roadside to see the situation. When it learned that the child had fallen into the water and was going to be sent to the hospital, it immediately asked Cao Ruyue to hold Hu Zi in the car.
Shen Sangyu knelt on the ground for a long time and didn’t get up.
The original owner was in poor health. When the cold wind blew just now, she felt her head start to hurt again.
“Are you okay?” Wen Qingchuan lowered his head and looked at Shen Sangyu lying on the ground, but did not reach out his hand immediately.
Although he felt that Shen Sangyu was a little different, he still remembered that Shen Sangyu didn’t like him to get close.
Shen Sangyu didn’t have so many thoughts. After all, she and Wen Qingchuan were just strangers. She subconsciously waved her hand and said, “I’m fine…”
Shen Sangyu suddenly paused. Seeing that Wen Qingchuan was wet all over, she could vaguely see his abdominal muscles.
But now was obviously not the time to pay attention to him.
It was so cold, and Wen Qingchuan was only wearing a thin short-sleeved shirt.
She was afraid of the cold, so she wore a thick gray cotton-padded jacket, which made her look a little bloated.
Wen Qingchuan, on the other hand, was wearing a military green short-sleeved shirt and only a coat on the outside.
He took off his coat when he saved the child, but the clothes and pants inside were all wet.
“Go home and change clothes quickly. Don’t catch a cold on such a cold day.”
Wen Qingchuan was stunned for a moment. In the past, Shen Sangyu either asked him for money or quarreled with him every day. This was the first time that she cared about him.
Wen Qingchuan nodded, flattered, but his face was normal, and Shen Sangyu did not find anything unusual.
The two of them talked to each other and even forgot that there was a Zhou Xinghua behind them.
Zhou Xinghua’s face was ugly, but when she heard that Wen Qingchuan’s clothes were wet, her eyes lit up: “Brother Wen, go to my house to change clothes. It happens that you haven’t been to my house for a long time.”
Zhou Xinghua said that she was a little aggrieved.
Seeing this scene, Shen Sangyu’s mind suddenly popped up the three big words “White Lotus.”
The original owner fell down the stairs that day, and many memories were a little confused.
Shen Sangyu had just crossed over and didn’t have time to think about it, but in fact, she had always been a little confused.
Zhou Xinghua and the original owner had no intersection, but the other party said something that made the original owner fight Zhou Xinghua.
Shen Sangyu rubbed her head. Wen Qingchuan thought Shen Sangyu was not feeling well.
He didn’t have time to think about why he felt that Zhou Xinghua’s words sounded strange: “No, Sangyu is not feeling well.”
Zhou Xinghua looked ugly, glanced at the gauze on Shen Sangyu’s head, and suddenly said: “It was my fault that day.
I knew it was your birthday and wanted to send you a bowl of chicken noodle soup, but Sangyu misunderstood.”
Shen Sangyu was stunned and couldn’t believe that these words came from Zhou Xinghua’s mouth.
She couldn’t help rolling her eyes, “Who would send chicken noodle soup to a married man on his birthday?
If you don’t know, you would think Wen Qingchuan is your husband!”
Zhou Xinghua was touched in the heart, and she didn’t expect Shen Sangyu to say these words in public.
For a while, her face blushed: “Sangyu, you misunderstood, I didn’t have such an idea.”
As she said, she looked at Wen Qingchuan for help.
That look was as pitiful as it could be.
Shen Sangyu just wanted to laugh twice and suddenly felt that the original owner’s head injury might not be an accident.
But she had a severe headache and didn’t want to talk to Zhou Xinghua. She turned around and walked towards the compound.
Wen Qingchuan followed Shen Sangyu without saying a word.
After returning to the family compound, everyone saw Shen Sangyu and Wen Qingchuan coming back together, and Wen Qingchuan was all wet, and everyone had a gossipy look on their faces.
But Wen Qingchuan always has a cold face on weekdays, and his position is higher than many people in the compound, so no one dared to ask about the situation.
After Wen Qingchuan returned to the room, he dried his body, changed into a clean set of clothes, and hurried to cook.
Wen Qingchuan’s cooking skills were good, and soon the corridor was filled with the aroma of stewed pork ribs.
Shen Sangyu was still thinking about Zhou Xinghua, but when she smelled the strong aroma of pork ribs, her mouth watered with greed.
Slurp
Shen Sangyu’s gluttony was about to come out.
She looked at Wen Qingchuan eagerly with a casserole in her hand. When she opened the lid, she could see a little oil on the pork rib soup.
The aroma that came to her nose made Shen Sangyu swallow her saliva subconsciously.
At this time, Wen Qingchuan suddenly said, “The relationship between Zhou Xinghua and me is not what you think.”
Shen Sangyu was stunned for a moment and looked at him blankly.
After reacting, she realized that Wen Qingchuan was explaining to her.
However, Wen Qingchuan saw Shen Sangyu in a daze and thought that she didn’t believe him, so he quickly explained: “Zhou Xinghua’s husband is my comrade-in-arms.
Zhuang Youliang died a year ago and asked me to take care of Zhou Xinghua and her son.
So after that, I would go to her house on the third of every month to see if there was anything I could help with.”
Shen Sangyu didn’t expect there was this in the middle.
So Zhou Xinghua regarded herself as a love rival?
Suddenly, several vague fragments flashed in her memory, and Shen Sangyu’s face changed again and again.
Wen Qingchuan looked at Shen Sangyu’s appearance and felt full of guilt. He had never thought about other aspects before, but today he realized that he might have made Zhou Xinghua develop feelings that she shouldn’t have.
But now, no matter how he apologized, things had already happened.
“I will make it clear to Zhou Xinghua.”
“Make it clear? How to make it clear! She has come to your doorstep to deliver chicken noodle soup to you, and she also wants me to divorce you.
I don’t agree, and she wants to kill me!”
Wen Qingchuan was shocked. He looked at Shen Sangyu, who was suddenly furious, and a hint of speculation surged in his heart.
Sure enough, the next second Shen Sangyu said: “I didn’t push her downstairs at all, she rolled down by herself!”
She had been in a daze since she came here, and many things couldn’t be remembered clearly.
But just now, the memory appeared in her mind, and Shen Sangyu remembered that it was not at all like what was said in the compound.
“On the day you went on the mission, Zhou Xinghua came to me and said that I was not worthy of you.
I had an argument with her at the stairs. She couldn’t win the argument and pushed me down with a slap!”
“Zhou Xinghua fell down by herself. Anyway, I didn’t push her.”
Wen Qingchuan was obviously stunned when he heard Shen Sangyu’s words.
On the day Shen Sangyu got into trouble, he had received the mission and hurried out, so all kinds of rumors spread from the family compound.
“Then… why didn’t you say it when everyone misunderstood you before?”
Shen Sangyu paused.
After she came here, her memory was incomplete, and she couldn’t remember the critical moment.
Besides, the original owner was notorious in the entire compound. Who would believe her when she said it?
However, Wen Qingchuan just frowned slightly.
Even if Shen Sangyu didn’t say anything, he knew that the reason she didn’t speak up was that she felt no one would believe her.
“Tomorrow we will go to Zhou Xinghua to make it clear. If it was really her who pushed you, I will definitely ask her to apologize to you.”
Shen Sangyu raised her head in astonishment, disbelief flashing in her eyes: “You believe me?”
Wen Qingchuan felt a little incredible after he finished speaking.
He would definitely not have believed it in the past, but after Shen Sangyu insisted on saving Hu Zi just now, Wen Qingchuan felt that maybe he could try to believe in this wife whom he didn’t know much about.
Thinking of this, Wen Qingchuan nodded: “Well, I believe you.”
