Chapter 24: The Cheng Commander Who Didn’t Get Any Meat
After Cheng Jinghao finished his shower and entered the room, Lin Momo was in the middle of changing the bedsheets. The once clean sheets were now covered in mud from Cheng Jinghao.
“Mo Mo.” Cheng Jinghao walked up behind her.
Lin Momo turned around, and to her surprise, he was shirtless.
“Mo Mo, can you help me apply the medicine?” Cheng Jinghao took her hand and placed the ointment in her palm.
His large hand was warm, and Lin Momo’s heart raced, but she didn’t refuse. Instead, she took the ointment and began applying it to his injuries with a cotton swab.
As she gently applied the medicine, she also blew on the spots she had treated.
Cheng Jinghao’s body tensed, and his gaze towards Lin Momo grew more intense, filled with desire.
“Mo Mo.” He held her hand. “I think… I’ll do it myself.”
“Okay.” Lin Momo’s face turned red as she nodded, handed him the cotton swab and ointment, and quickly ran out of the room. When she closed the door, her heart was pounding wildly.
Lin Momo slapped her face. “I’m 28 years old, not some young girl. Why am I so embarrassed?”
When Cheng Jinghao came out of the room later, he was now dressed and had taken the muddy sheets outside.
“I’ll wash them; you’re injured,” Lin Momo said, walking up to take the sheets.
“This small injury won’t be a problem,” Cheng Jinghao said, still holding onto the sheets. “I also have clothes inside.”
“Well, it’s up to you.” She felt a little uneasy under his gaze, so she turned and entered the room to continue knitting a sweater for him.
Cheng Jinghao smiled and went to fetch water.
Not long after, Zhao Zhigang came by to deliver some medicinal wine. As he walked through the yard, he noticed the sheets hanging outside.
“Newlyweds, huh? In broad daylight, no less. Tsk, tsk, tsk,” Zhao Zhigang teased.
“Get lost.” Cheng Jinghao gave him a cold look.
“You see? All flustered now, huh? Your wife heard you were injured and sent me over with this medicinal wine.” Zhao Zhigang handed the wine to Cheng Jinghao.
“Thank you, and tell my sister-in-law I appreciate it,” Cheng Jinghao said. He didn’t want to refuse this gesture from Li He.
“Don’t mention it. I’m heading home now,” Zhao Zhigang said as he turned to leave.
“Zhao, big brother,” Lin Momo called out as she came out of the room, holding a handful of chocolate.
“This is from my family. Take some to the kids,” she said, handing him the chocolates.
“Yo, this looks like it’s from a foreign store. We can’t take this. It’s expensive!” Zhao Zhigang waved his hands, refusing.
“It’s for the kids, not for you. What’s there to refuse?” Cheng Jinghao took the chocolates from Lin Momo’s hand and shoved them into Zhao Zhigang’s.
“Well then, thank you, little sister-in-law,” Zhao Zhigang said with a smile.
After Zhao Zhigang left, Lin Momo returned to the room with Cheng Jinghao following closely behind.
She continued knitting the sweater, and he sat next to her, watching.
“Why do you keep staring at me?” Lin Momo asked, having made a mistake in her knitting from his gaze.
“You look good doing it,” Cheng Jinghao said, blurting out the words.
Lin Momo blushed and went back to knitting.
“Mo Mo.” Cheng Jinghao moved closer, pulling her into his arms. “I want a kiss.”
“Cheng Jinghao, we just—” Lin Momo was about to speak, but was interrupted as he kissed her.
Cheng Jinghao kissed her deeply, as if savoring the most delicious thing in the world.
After a long moment, he pulled away. “Mo Mo, you taste sweet.”
“I just ate some chocolate.”
“…” Cheng Jinghao froze for a moment, processing what she meant.
“Then let me taste again.” He cupped her face and kissed her once more.
After some time, the two finally parted.
Cheng Jinghao gazed at Lin Momo’s flushed cheeks and couldn’t help but laugh. “Mo Mo, you’re so cute!”
Lin Momo rolled her eyes at him. “I’m going to make dinner.”
“I’m going. You rest.” Cheng Jinghao quickly stopped Lin Momo. Since he was home, how could he let Momo cook?
“Just make noodles, there are fresh noodles in the supermarket.”
By the time Cheng Jinghao arrived, it was already past lunchtime, but noodles were still something they could eat.
“Alright.” He stood up and kissed her cheek before leaving the room.
“Pervert.” Lin Momo said, though she was smiling.
For dinner, Cheng Jinghao made seafood noodles because Lin Momo had loved seafood since she was little.
The seafood came from the supermarket, and he peeled all the shrimp shells before putting them into the noodles.
“Momo, the noodles are ready.” Cheng Jinghao brought two bowls of noodles to the living room.
“Okay.” Lin Momo replied.
“Wow, seafood noodles! Cheng Jinghao, you’re amazing.” Lin Momo took a bite and gave him a thumbs up.
Cheng Jinghao raised an eyebrow. “Am I amazing just because of a bowl of seafood noodles?”
After washing the dishes, Cheng Jinghao went to the room. Lin Momo had already finished washing up and was sitting on the kang (a traditional heated bed) continuing to weave clothes.
He sat down beside her, lifted his blanket, and picked up a book, though his eyes secretly glanced at Lin Momo.
“Momo.”
“Hmm?” Lin Momo looked at him.
“Can you apply some more medicine for me?” Cheng Jinghao cleared his throat lightly.
“Oh, okay.” Lin Momo took the ointment from his hand without thinking much.
Cheng Jinghao unbuttoned his sleepwear, revealing his strong chest and abs.
Because he had drunk the spiritual spring water, the bruises on his chest had faded significantly, and the lighter scratches had already turned pink.
Lin Momo unconsciously swallowed. She began to apply the ointment on him.
As she finished and was about to put the ointment away, a deep and hoarse voice came from above her head.
“Do you want to touch?” Cheng Jinghao’s voice was full of temptation.
Lin Momo looked up at him, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
Since there was a bruise on his chest, she raised her hand and poked his abs. They were firm, and the touch felt good.
The more she played, the more lively she got, going from poking with her fingertip to gently caressing with her finger pads.
A muffled grunt escaped from Cheng Jinghao’s throat. Lin Momo had never been so close to him like this, and she realized she might have gone too far. She quickly looked up at him and tried to pull her hand back.
But Cheng Jinghao held her hand, trapping her in his embrace.
He leaned down and kissed her lips, moving in an intricate rhythm. Lin Momo felt dizzy from his kiss, unable to do anything but let him take control.
When Cheng Jinghao’s hand went under her sleepwear, Lin Momo suddenly snapped out of it.
“Cheng Jinghao, Cheng Jinghao, stop…”
“Momo…” He whispered her name in her ear, “Momo, I love you!”
“Cheng Jinghao… stop, please… I’m on my period!”
Lin Momo’s cheeks flushed red. How could she forget something so important while being teased by him?
Upon hearing this, Cheng Jinghao immediately stopped all his actions. He tightly held Lin Momo in his arms.
“Momo, I’m sorry…”
“It’s okay, you didn’t know.” She comforted him.
“Let’s sleep. I won’t touch you anymore.” Cheng Jinghao kissed her forehead, then placed his large hand on her lower abdomen, gently rubbing it.
His warm hand seemed to carry a strange power, gradually lulling Lin Momo into a peaceful sleep.
The sound of steady breathing next to her signaled that Cheng Jinghao had gotten up. He went to the backyard for a quick shower.
Once his body temperature had returned to normal, he returned to the kang and held Lin Momo as they both closed their eyes to sleep.
