Chapter 17: Self-Rescue, Escape
The sound of footsteps echoed, and everyone’s gaze turned to Yu Zihan.
Feeling the trust of her peers, Yu Zihan gave them a determined look, wanting to instill confidence in them. She knew that fighting those thugs would be extremely dangerous.
But this danger was better than waiting to be sold into the mountains to endure endless torment.
Receiving the encouragement and determination from her gaze, the girls’ hearts settled slightly.
They thought, since death was inevitable, killing one would mean no loss, and killing two would be a gain; this time, they would fight with everything they had.
To them, this place was like hell on earth, and those traffickers were the devils torturing them.
Having suffered such torment before, they believed their lives were already over after enduring both physical and mental anguish.
Whether they lived or died no longer mattered. But today, Yu Zihan’s words and her fierce spirit reignited their courage to live on.
Better to live poorly than to die well; who would willingly choose death when they could still live? Now they had to seize this only opportunity to escape.
The girls encouraged themselves in their hearts, gripping their makeshift weapons tightly.
With a “click,” the door lock was opened. A man with a bulging belly walked in. Seeing everyone staring at him, he disdainfully glanced at the girls.
“You lot, I’m tired of playing with you. Now that I have these two fresh little girls, I’ll let you go,” he said, spewing disgusting words. Little did he know, the girls had already imagined torturing him a thousand times in their minds.
He slowly walked towards Yu Zihan and Zhou Mengrui.
“Hahaha, I’m in luck today, a fat girl and a pretty girl. I’m the first to taste this,” he boasted loudly, occasionally casting lewd glances at the two.
The girls knew what was about to happen. Remembering their own experiences, they didn’t want Yu Zihan and Zhou Mengrui to suffer the same torment. They wanted to grab their weapons and take him down immediately.
They gripped their weapons tightly, waiting for Yu Zihan’s command.
“Don’t be afraid, I’m in a good mood today. I will treat you gently and make sure you’re comfortable. Hahaha.” As the man approached, he reeked of disgusting alcohol.
He walked right up to Zhou Mengrui, reaching out to touch her face.
Just as Zhou Mengrui was about to swing the hoe, a dark stick appeared in Yu Zihan’s hand out of nowhere.
With lightning speed, she thrust the stick straight into the man’s mouth. Before he could even scream, he trembled and collapsed to the ground.
Seeing the moment had come, the girls swung their weapons at the man until he was breathless.
“Good job, everyone! They’re actually not that scary. As long as we work together, we will definitely defeat them, right?”
At this moment, it was time to boost morale. Yu Zihan knew that the reason the girls had such fighting spirit was because they were holding back their anger. If that anger were to dissipate, they would become just ordinary little girls, with no deterrent against their powerful enemies. So she timely encouraged everyone.
“If someone comes in next, we will take them down one by one. Don’t panic.” With the previous victory, everyone immediately felt more confident.
Sure enough, another person walked in, just like the previous one, having drunk quite a bit. He staggered as he walked.
These men were just like that; under the influence of alcohol, their evil desires would multiply. Their ugly faces would be magnified at this moment.
He was also headed for the two new girls. His gaze was fixated on them, not even noticing his already lifeless companion.
Muttering filthy words, he swayed and lunged toward Yu Zihan.
Yu Zihan used the same tactic as before, shoving the stun baton into the man’s mouth. Then the other girls swung their weapons and took the scoundrel down to the ground.
“How many more are there?” Yu Zihan asked the girls, looking at the man who was now thoroughly dead.
Having fought together, the girls were more familiar with each other.
One of the frail girls said, “There are about a dozen.” As she spoke, it was clear that her body was trembling. Yu Zihan immediately understood what had happened to them. Her anger reached a boiling point.
The expressions of the other girls also fell immediately.
“Don’t be afraid. As long as we capture these people, we will be saved. No matter what happened in the past, we still have a bright future ahead of us. We are all in our prime, at a beautiful age. We must not give up on ourselves. As long as we don’t give up on ourselves, no one will give up on you.”
“Yes, as long as we don’t give up on ourselves, we will carve out a space that belongs to us.” The frail girl echoed Yu Zihan, and smiles of hope appeared on the faces of the other girls as well.
With a loud “bang,” a large group of people suddenly surged into the room. Yu Zihan took a quick glance and counted at least ten.
“How unlucky, why did they all come at once?” Yu Zihan thought to herself. Did she really have to resort to that method?
“Hahaha, I see your courage has grown fat; you dare to kill my men. Are you tired of living?” The chubby leader shouted at them with an imposing demeanor.
The confidence the girls had built up moments ago crumbled instantly in front of these fierce-looking men. They began to tremble. Zhou Mengrui also looked at Yu Zihan in despair.
Yu Zihan stared intently at these men, calculating how to strike quickly to defeat them.
She decided that she would fight until the last moment. Using the space to save people was the most effective method, but it would not only cost her ten years in the space but also create huge troubles for herself later. She didn’t want to take risks unless absolutely necessary.
To catch the thief, capture the king first; she decided to target the chubby man.
The fat man noticed Yu Zihan’s bright, lively eyes and was quite taken with her. The women he usually encountered were either too dull or timid, allowing him to bully them and cowering away while crying. He found such women irritating.
But Yu Zihan remained calm, her lively big eyes darting around, clearly contemplating how to escape. But if they fell into their hands, escaping would be harder than climbing to the sky.
Thinking this, the man stepped closer to Yu Zihan, curious about how much excitement this little fox would bring him.
As the man approached with a sinister grin, it played right into Yu Zihan’s hands. She fixed her gaze on his eyes, already plotting how to take this scoundrel down in one hit.
When the man was only half a meter away from her, Yu Zihan unexpectedly struck his chest with the stun baton.
“Ah…” he let out a scream as his massive body crashed to the ground.
The men behind him were stunned to see their boss taken down by a little girl. At first, they were bewildered, but as reality set in, they all lunged toward Yu Zihan. They couldn’t believe that so many of them couldn’t handle one little girl.
As it turned out, sometimes things don’t go as one expects.
The girls, witnessing this scene, no longer felt scared. They thought, since death was inevitable, it might as well be swift, so they all grabbed their weapons and prepared to fight.
Yu Zihan saw that these scoundrels were not intimidated, realizing she had underestimated them. She knew the girls were definitely no match for these ruthless men. Just as she was preparing to use the space to rescue the girls, she heard a commotion outside.
She felt a surge of joy; the man really went to call the police. She had bet right.
The police were coming to rescue them. She shouted to the girls, “Don’t act impulsively! Our top priority now is to protect ourselves and prevent them from becoming desperate.”
The girls, hearing Yu Zihan’s words, felt a rush of spirit, using their weapons to defend themselves.
