Chapter 12 : Bullying his woman in front of him!

By the time she had dug up a large bag of beetroots, cut them into small pieces, dried them, boiled down the juice, and evaporated it to make brown sugar, it was already very late.  

Song Shiwei weighed the brown sugar in her arms, it seemed to be about five or six kilograms!  

In that era, brown sugar was still a rare commodity. The supply and marketing cooperative sold it for 50 cents per pound, and you even needed sugar coupons to buy it!

Seeing that he was deliberately keeping it a secret, Song Shiwei became anxious and quickly pushed her bicycle into the yard.  

When she stepped inside and looked around, wasn’t there a familiar-looking figure among the people sitting in the main room?  

Even while seated, the man still kept his back straight out of habit. When he heard the commotion, he turned his head. The moment his gaze landed on Song Shiwei, a smile finally appeared on his handsome face!  

He quickly stood up and strode toward her.  

Song Shiwei was almost stunned!  

If Zhou Tingyue hadn’t been quick enough to grab the bike from her hands, the handlebars would have hit her foot!  

Watching him park the bicycle, Song Shiwei blinked in disbelief before suddenly reaching out to grab his arm, her eyes curving into crescents as she laughed.  

“You, you… you really came?”  

Seeing how happy she was to see him, Zhou Tingyue naturally felt delighted too.  

He smiled and rubbed her head.  

“I have to keep my promise to you!”  

Song Shiwei was overjoyed, she finally saw a glimmer of hope!  

If this news was enough to make her excited, then Zhou Tingyue’s next words were enough to make her so happy she could almost fly!  

She heard him say, “I’m sorry for making you wait so long. I wanted to wait until the marriage application was approved before I took leave! Didn’t you say you wanted to get married soon? The sooner, the better!”  

If Zhou Tingyue hadn’t fully understood why she was so anxious before, today, he finally did!  

When he and his parents arrived, Song Shiwei hadn’t returned yet. Her parents were still at the factory, so it was her grandmother and her aunt who had greeted them!

When the Auntie heard him say that he was Song Shiwei’s boyfriend, the aunt’s eyes widen! Especially when she saw the car behind him, she practically wanted to glue her eyes to it!  

While hurriedly inviting them inside, she also sent someone to the factory to call the others back!  

Zhou Tingyue thought they were calling for Song Shiwei and her parents!  

Unexpectedly, a little girl about the same age as Song Shiwei came back instead, and the moment she saw him, her face turned bright red!  

Her aunt-in-law kept pushing her toward him!
