Chapter 37 : Give their Zhou family a fat and fair son!
She carefully put these things away and held his arm “Since you trust me, I will not let you down. I will take good care of them! I will try to make more in the future!”
Zhou Tingyue’s smile grew even brighter. He thought she meant that he would give her his monthly salary from now on, so he nodded and agreed “Okay!”
But what Song Shiwei actually meant was that the era of reform and opening up was about to begin. The country would encourage private businesses, and they still had four children to raise.
She needed to find a way to start a small business in the future and set an example for her four children, teaching them that money should be earned honestly!
They must never do anything illegal or harmful to the country and its people!
The two walked home hand in hand. The house was quiet, and the living room lights were off.
The four children were probably asleep.
Zhou Tingyue had been holding back for a long time. The unfinished matter from the previous night had been on his mind all day.
He had barely managed to restrain himself at the beach just now, but now that they were home and he knew the girl’s feelings, how could he hold back any longer?
He picked up the little girl and carried her in his arms.
Song Shiwei was so startled that she couldn’t help but let out a scream. But afraid of waking the children, she quickly covered her mouth.
She patted Zhou Tingyue shyly and whispered, “What are you doing? You scared me.”
Zhou Tingyue lowered his head and kissed her lips “The children are all asleep. Let’s finish what we didn’t get to last night!”
After saying that, he ignored Song Shiwei’s face, which was now red as a tomato, and strode into the house with her in his arms.
In the room across from them, several children were lying on a big bed. Zhou Wei and Zhou Xinxin were already asleep.
Zhou Cheng and Zhou Lin, however, had their eyes wide open.
Zhou Lin turned over and looked at him.
“Brother, do you want to…”
Before he could finish speaking, Zhou Cheng knew what he meant. His brows furrowed, and he looked somewhat conflicted.
After a long time, he suddenly became irritated, pulled the quilt over his head, and muttered, “No, go to sleep! Just sleep!”
Hearing this, Zhou Lin nodded, glanced at the door, pulled up his blanket, and lay down to sleep.
In the room on the other side, the bed creaked until midnight.
The next day, Song Shiwei woke up late. Seeing the empty spot beside her, she couldn’t help but blush. This man, who had been holding back for so long, was really scary.
Last night, they had done it four or five times. If she hadn’t been too exhausted, Zhou Tingyue would have gone for six, seven, or even eight rounds!
He wanted to keep going until dawn.
Even though her back and waist ached, she couldn’t help blushing when she thought about last night.
Especially when Zhou Tingyue, with his seductive face and red eyes, whispered “Be good!” she felt like she was drowning in his gaze.
No wonder her best friends always told her to find a man to marry, saying that women age quickly without a man’s “nourishment.” Now it seemed their words weren’t entirely wrong!
Her whole body ached as if it were falling apart.
She slowly got up and dressed.
As soon as she stepped out to wash up, she saw the bedsheets hanging outside the door.
Half-asleep last night, she had vaguely felt him get up and change the sheets.
Seeing the freshly washed sheets, Song Shiwei, who had just regained her composure, blushed again.
The battle last night had been too intense, the bedsheets had indeed been a mess.
At that moment, Sun Meimei from next door came out with a basin to pour out some water.
Seeing Song Shiwei, she couldn’t help but smile and say, “Oh, your Old Zhou is really hardworking. He got up early in the morning to wash the sheets! What a good man!”
Song Shiwei’s face instantly turned red. As someone with experience, there was nothing Sun Meimei couldn’t see through.
However, she was genuinely happy for Zhou Tingyue and Song Shiwei.
“Speaking of which, Tingyue isn’t young anymore. To be honest, he has been raising those four little ones, even though they’re not his biological children. You should try to have a child of your own this year! Give the Zhou family a chubby, fair baby!”
Song Shiwei was startled and quickly looked behind her. The four children shouldn’t be awake yet. If they heard this, all the goodwill she had painstakingly built up with them would instantly disappear.
“Sister-in-law, what are you talking about? Old Zhou and I treat those four children as our own!”
Fortunately, Sun Meimei thought she was just being shy and made a few more jokes before heading back inside.
Song Shiwei let out a sigh of relief, then picked up a cup of water to wash up.
But what she didn’t know was that someone was standing by the door.
Zhou Cheng had woken up early, thinking that since she had slept in, his younger siblings might be hungry. So, he had made brown sugar water for everyone including Song Shiwei.
To be honest, after what had happened yesterday, he was starting to consider accepting her.
But the moment he heard what Aunt Sun said, his grip on the bowl tightened unconsciously.
The hostility that had faded from his eyes gradually returned.
Right. How could he forget? This woman was probably more cunning than anyone. She definitely wasn’t sincere toward them. She wanted to deceive them all, have her own child with Dad, and then make Dad distance himself from them!
Thinking about this, his heart instantly turned cold.
The brown sugar water in his hands suddenly seemed less sweet.
At that moment, Song Shiwei had just finished washing up and walked in. When she pushed the door open and saw Zhou Cheng standing there, she was taken aback.
Just as she was about to say something, she noticed the bowl of brown sugar water in his hands.
Her eyes lit up with surprise.
“This is for me…”
Before she could finish speaking, Zhou Cheng shoved the bowl into Zhou Wei’s hands, his eyes filled with coldness.
“It’s not for you! Stop dreaming!”
Zhou Wei looked at the bowl in his hands, then at his older brother and mom, still a little confused.
“But Brother, we already had some. Didn’t you say this bowl was for the mom…”
“Just drink it ! Stop asking so many questions!”
The anger in his voice startled both Zhou Wei and Song Shiwei.
“Brother, what’s wrong with you…”
“Zhou Cheng…”
Song Shiwei reached out to grab his sleeve, but he suddenly dodged away.
“Nothing! I’m just going out for a walk!”
At that moment, Zhou Lin and Zhou Xinxin also came out. Seeing their eldest brother storming off angrily, they were all confused.
Zhou Xinxin couldn’t help but ask, “What’s wrong with Brother?”
Zhou Wei had a complicated expression. “I don’t know either.”
A bad feeling sank into Song Shiwei’s heart.
That child was the most sensitive among all of them, probably because he was the eldest. He always felt the need to take care of his younger siblings and was afraid they would get hurt.
It was also possible that he had reached his rebellious teenage years, always seeing the world with a deep sense of hostility.
Song Shiwei knew that he must have misunderstood the situation again. So, she asked Zhou Lin to take care of the younger siblings while she went out to find him and have a good talk.
