Chapter 11 – Shen Qingyan: Mom, Dabao and Xiaobao are my biological children
Of course! How could Gu Wanrou be so kind? She stole her university admission letter—how could she possibly still let her attend the class reunion? Wasn’t she afraid she might say something?
She probably spiked her drink on purpose, wanting her to lose control and do something reckless. After all, in her previous life, she did attend the reunion that night but was unwilling, even trying several times to say that she had gotten into college—only to be interrupted by Gu Wanrou. Gu Wanrou probably saw through her and deliberately set her up.
She knew Gu Siqing was unwilling to give up, so she baited her into losing her virginity and then fed her the idea: “How can someone so immoral be fit to go to university?” Saying things like she was already tainted, going to college would be useless, she wouldn’t get a good job or find a good man. Eventually, that shred of unwillingness in her would turn into shame. Meanwhile, Gu Wanrou could go to university with peace of mind, no longer fearing she’d cause trouble.
As she pieced together Gu Wanrou’s entire scheme, Gu Siqing’s eyes flickered with murderous intent. Her fists clenched tightly, and the hatred in her eyes deepened. Truly worthy of being Gu Wanrou—after stealing her spot, she still aimed to destroy her reputation and body completely. What a calculated move!
And in her past life, Gu Wanrou’s plan worked perfectly. When she found out she had lost her virginity, she had a complete mental breakdown and thought she wasn’t worthy of reclaiming her spot at university. She gave up on herself, ended up having two kids… and was completely brainwashed.
Seeing that Gu Siqing seemed off, Shen Qingyan quickly asked, “What’s wrong?”
“She probably plotted against me on purpose,” Gu Siqing rubbed her temples. Shen Qingyan looked at her face, and suddenly a memory from three years ago flashed in his mind. Everything now seemed to connect. That body that haunted his dreams was gradually aligning with Gu Siqing’s.
As he thought more about it, a subtle change came over Shen Qingyan’s face.
Just as he was about to say something to Gu Siqing, the two kids pushed open the door and ran in, sweaty from playing.
“Mommy, we want water!”
Gu Siqing smiled and poured them each a glass of spring water, then patiently took a towel to wipe their sweat. After they drank and stayed by her side, they looked over at Shen Qingyan with a hesitant expression—wanting to approach but also feeling shy. Gu Siqing gently pulled the two kids over.
Facing them directly, she said seriously, “Dabao, Xiaobao, Mommy has good news for you.”
“He’s really your daddy—your biological daddy.”
“There were some misunderstandings before, so Mommy didn’t find him in time. But now I’m sure. So you don’t have to feel distant anymore. You two are Daddy’s real children, and he’ll treat you well!”
The kids were smart and mature. They tilted their little heads and thought it over seriously for a few minutes, then rushed to Shen Qingyan’s side, one on each side, hugging his arms.
“He really is our daddy! Now we have a real daddy!”
The two little ones were so happy, flailing their arms with excitement.
They wouldn’t be called bastards anymore. They already liked Shen Qingyan a lot, and now that they knew he was their real father, they became even clingier. Gu Siqing’s place in their hearts dropped just a little.
The family basked in a warm and cozy moment.
Shen Qingyan had always liked the two kids, and now that he knew they were his biological children, he felt even more attached. He had thought, after his leg injury, that he’d never be able to have children. Now, with two of his own, he felt his family line could continue, and his guilt lifted.
He looked carefully at Dabao’s face, gently stroking his head. “Dabao looks a lot like me. Xiaobao looks more like you.”
“I never imagined I’d have my own children.” Shen Qingyan looked sincerely at Gu Siqing. “Thank you so much.”
“You’re truly my lucky star.”
And he meant it. Not only could Gu Siqing heal his leg and help him walk again, but she also brought him two well-behaved children and gave him a happy, perfect family.
Meeting his gaze, Gu Siqing coughed lightly. “It’s getting late. I’ll go make dinner.” She hurried into the kitchen and got busy.
She couldn’t help but think about what Shen Qingyan said—he didn’t think he could have kids? That was odd. She had checked him before—only his leg was injured. That part was fine. He should be able to have kids, right?
Could it be… he was too traditional? Didn’t know the woman could be on top?
(。☌ᴗ☌。)
Gu Siqing thought about it for two seconds before tossing those thoughts aside.
She looked at the vegetables she “borrowed” from Gu Wanrou’s place—there was still some left. She made some simple steamed dishes and a pot of bacon potato rice using a piece of preserved meat.
The whole family ate happily.
After dinner, Gu Siqing pushed Shen Qingyan in his wheelchair for a stroll in the yard. The two kids bounced on either side, and the family was filled with joy.
Suddenly, a knock came from outside the space—“dong dong dong.”
Gu Siqing’s expression shifted. She quickly brought the kids and Shen Qingyan back into the suite and cheerfully opened the door.
The visitors were Shen Qingyan’s parents, Qi Yuan and Shen Mengzhou.
Today was the second day after Gu Siqing and Shen Qingyan’s wedding. They had come to check in on how the couple was getting along—and to share a meal. They also brought some gifts for Gu Siqing for her return visit home the next day.
“Mom, Dad.” Gu Siqing greeted with a smile.
The kids called out beside her, “Grandpa! Grandma!”
Seeing Gu Siqing’s smile and their son looking fairly well in bed, Qi Yuan also smiled. The two kids had been with them last night, so they were already quite familiar. She waved them over, “Come to Grandma.”
The two kids ran over. Qi Yuan happily took out candy from her pocket and handed it to them. Seeing them take it politely and thank her, she grew even happier. “Such well-mannered kids!”
Shen Mengzhou nodded in agreement. “We brought some return gifts today, and also thought we’d ask you to have dinner with us.”
The real reason, of course, was to see how the couple was doing.
Seeing things going well, Shen Qingyan nodded. “Then let’s pack up and head out. I have something to discuss with you—once we’re there.”
Qi Yuan and Shen Mengzhou couldn’t quite read his neutral expression but didn’t press further.
Once everyone was ready, they went to the hotel’s restaurant and picked a private room.
As soon as they sat down, Qi Yuan started some small talk. The more she looked at Gu Siqing, the more satisfied she felt. Her concerns eased, and she sincerely said:
“Siqing, thank you for being willing to marry Qingyan. I know his leg might bring some criticism your way, but don’t worry—we’ll treat your two kids as—”
She was just about to express her support as a mother-in-law when Shen Qingyan suddenly interrupted.
“Mom, Dabao and Xiaobao are my biological children.”
