“Military Marriage Threw Its Back Out: Commander, Your Wife Ran Away Again!” Chapter 33

Chapter 33: You’ve Passed the Skip-Grade Exam

After a few more glances from the other students and the sound of the class bell ringing, everyone finally dispersed. Gu Siqing sat attentively in the classroom, and before long, a teacher came in to distribute the exam papers.

“This is the level exam to skip directly to the fourth year, so there are quite a lot of papers. The content covered is broad, with many detailed questions. The exam duration is also longer. If you’re ready, raise your hands so we can begin distributing the papers!”

After a brief explanation from the teacher, many students raised their hands.

When the papers reached Gu Siqing, the teacher gave her a deliberate look before placing the stack—over a dozen papers—on her desk and moving on to the next student.

Gu Siqing flipped through the papers casually. The scope of these exam papers was indeed wide-ranging, and many of the detailed questions were things only found in extracurricular reading materials. If she hadn’t had some prior experience and hadn’t studied so many books recently, this really would’ve been a tough challenge.

After scanning the papers, Gu Siqing picked up her pen and began answering. The invigilating teacher looked over at her several times. Occasionally, when walking past her, the teacher would deliberately glance at her work.

This was a senior-year teacher.

When the registration form for this exam came in, she had been shocked. A freshman student, only one month into college, had dared to take a skip-grade exam — and not just a simple one — a triple jump straight to fourth year.

She had been so surprised that she decided to keep an eye on her.

What she didn’t expect was to see Gu Siqing continuously writing on her papers without stopping, as if she didn’t even need to think. Holding back her astonishment, the teacher decided not to focus on her too much.

Because there were so many papers, Gu Siqing spent several hours answering them. Once she finally finished, she let out a sigh of relief, checked everything once more, and raised her hand.

“I’m done,” she said.

Gu Siqing’s voice was like a bomb dropped in the exam room.

Several sophomore students taking the skip exam looked up in shock.

Who is this girl?

There were twelve papers total — they were only on the seventh one, the fastest among them just finishing the ninth — and she was already done?

Is she even human?

The teacher glanced over, collected Gu Siqing’s papers, and said, “You may leave. The results will be out early tomorrow morning.”

Only then did Gu Siqing truly relax. Since she didn’t need to attend class at noon after the exam, she simply went home and made herself a bowl of noodles.

Shen Qingyan saw her devouring her food and brought over a cup of hot water. “The exam today went well, right?”

Gu Siqing grinned. “Haven’t you seen how hard I’ve been working lately?” She winked. “Besides, I’m even capable of performing surgeries on you. A little exam like this is no big deal.”

Seeing her lively expression and brilliant smile, Shen Qingyan walked over and sat across from her. “Yes, my wife, you’re amazing.”

Hearing his straightforward praise and seeing his focused gaze, Gu Siqing blushed a little.

She couldn’t help but feel that Shen Qingyan in this life was a bit different — not only did he praise her, but he even helped cover for her lies. Totally unlike the old him.

Then again, in her past life, she really was just an ordinary girl. Maybe even if Shen Qingyan had wanted to compliment her back then, he wouldn’t have known what to say.

The next day at school.

Gu Siqing went to class as usual. As soon as she entered the classroom, she heard people whispering in the corners.

Zhang Yanran walked in proudly with her books, glanced at Gu Siqing, but—surprisingly—didn’t say anything.

After all, the results weren’t out yet. She was waiting to slap Gu Siqing in the face once they were.

Their recent confrontation had nearly ruined her carefully maintained goddess image. This time, she didn’t dare act impulsively.

Gu Siqing didn’t care. She just shrugged and walked into the classroom.

After the first class ended, she was checking her schedule when the counselor walked in, smiling brightly.

“Gu Siqing, you’ve passed the skip-grade exam. Pack your things — you can go straight to the fourth-year classes now.”

What?!

The counselor was still smiling, but the students were frozen in shock.

Especially those who had been gossiping in the corners earlier, and Zhang Yanran. Their expressions shifted rapidly from confusion to shock, then embarrassment for speaking so poorly behind someone’s back.

“Alright, thank you, teacher. I’ll head over shortly.”
Gu Siqing began packing up her books.

The counselor stood nearby, still beaming. “You’re probably the only student in school history who jumped from first year directly to fourth. Everyone’s talking about you now.”

When the classmates heard that, they suddenly remembered — Zhang Yanran had once told everyone that Gu Siqing was trying to skip grades, and they were all convinced she would fail.

Who would’ve thought she’d become the only one to succeed?

Those who hadn’t believed her now looked awkward, while the ones who had, genuinely admired her.

As Gu Siqing left the classroom with her books, she turned and gave Zhang Yanran — sitting in the corner — a meaningful look.

Everyone noticed.

When Gu Siqing’s gaze met Zhang Yanran’s, they all understood what was going on.

“Some people went around spreading rumors she’d never pass, but she skipped straight to senior year!”

“She was just a classmate before, and now she’s our upperclassman. Isn’t it embarrassing for those who were talking behind her back?”

“Tsk tsk, I used to think she was pretty, but turns out she’s the one with no self-awareness!”

“What good is just being pretty? Gu Siqing is both beautiful and smart — that’s a real goddess!”

The classmates’ harsh words made Zhang Yanran feel the heat of mockery from all directions. She couldn’t stand it and rushed straight to the bathroom.

The moment she entered, she burst into tears.

Why?!

She had real talent too — why did she have to put on a front like she was working hard, just to misjudge her and end up a laughingstock?

Gu Siqing… really is insufferable!
