“Military Marriage Threw Its Back Out: Commander, Your Wife Ran Away Again!” Chapter 6

Chapter 6: Eldest Uncle’s Family — “What?! Everything in the House Got Stolen!”

As soon as they got home and turned on the light, Bai Cuiyan let out a loud scream:
“Ahhh!!!”

“What are you yelling about! It’s late—aren’t you afraid of disturbing the neighbors?!” Gu Dakai scolded in annoyance.

“We’ve been robbed!” Bai Cuiyan shouted.

The door wasn’t large, and Bai Cuiyan was the first to step in—naturally the first to see the disaster.

Everyone behind her immediately sensed something was wrong. Gu Dakai quickly pushed her aside, and when he saw the completely empty house, his heart nearly stopped!

The living room was bare—sofas, coffee table, the green plants by the windows, even the wall clock—everything was gone!

Gu Dakai didn’t even bother taking off his shoes and rushed to his bedroom. Bai Cuiyan hurried to the kitchen. Gu Wanrou and Gu Ruizhuo ran to their rooms. Grandpa went to his room, Grandma rushed to the bathroom.

What they saw left them all stunned!

Gu Dakai: “Damn it! My room is completely emptied out! The storage room too! My money!”

Bai Cuiyan wailed: “My eggs! My bacon! I bought ten eggs and three pounds of bacon just this morning! And now they’re all gone! Even the pots and pans are missing!”

Gu Wanrou leaned against the wall, staring at her empty room, nearly coughing up blood: “My clothes! The thief took all my pretty clothes!”

Gu Ruizhuo was practically going crazy: “All my clothes are gone too! And the thief even cut up my shoes!”

Grandpa took a deep breath, seething: “Even our old people’s things weren’t spared!”

Grandma sobbed: “Even the toilet paper’s gone! I really need to go! Old man, hurry and get me some toilet paper!”

The entire family felt like they were losing their minds. Only Grandma was focused on going to the bathroom, so Grandpa went out first to buy her toilet paper. The rest of the family gathered in a mess.

Gu Wanrou urgently said: “Even the beds were stolen. Where are we going to sleep tonight?”

“Mom! Dad! We have to call the police! My shoes were cut up!” Gu Ruizhuo shouted in anger.

“Yes, yes, we must report this to the police!” Bai Cuiyan stood up quickly. “Old Gu, you come with me right now. Let’s go report it!”

Amid all the noise, Gu Dakai did go to the police station.

The police arrived quickly because the moment Gu Dakai stepped into the station, he began howling at the top of his lungs. It startled the officers on duty.

After asking what happened, several officers followed Gu Dakai back.

He told them the whole house had been robbed—from large furniture down to slippers and toilet paper.

The officers looked constipated. They’d handled many theft cases over the years but had never seen a house so thoroughly looted.

They were skeptical at first, thinking Gu Dakai might be exaggerating to get them to take it seriously.

But when they followed him to the door and saw the utterly empty home, they froze on the spot.

“Officers, you must help us investigate this. Our whole house was stripped bare…” Gu Dakai was nearly choking on his own rage and panic.

He also desperately wanted to know what had happened. They’d only gone to a wedding and stayed a little longer. How did this happen?

Where did this thief come from? How did they steal so much without any of the neighbors noticing?

The police opened the door and walked in. The whole family stood outside cursing and yelling. Gu Ruizhuo, furious, kicked the stairwell railing.

The noise was loud enough that neighbors started coming out to watch.

Who doesn’t love some juicy gossip these days?

“They really got cleaned out?” nosy Aunt Liu pushed her way to the front. When she saw the empty house, her eyes bulged and a gleeful grin spread across her face.

Those who couldn’t squeeze in shouted from the back: “Aunt Liu, what’s going on in there?!”

“Yes! Tell us what you saw!”

Aunt Liu squeezed back out and began vividly describing the scene like she was telling a story.

Meanwhile, the police had finished walking around the place and confirmed that everything really had been cleared out.

“Besides the big furniture and household items, what else was taken?” an officer asked while jotting notes, clearly still stunned.

No wonder Gu Dakai had cried like a banshee at the station—everything, even the toilet paper, was gone.

“All our valuables were stolen—including the cash we’d hidden!” Gu Dakai said, trembling with anxiety. If he’d known this would happen, he would’ve skipped the wedding. Everyone said Gu Siqing was a walking disaster, and now he believed it. They went to her wedding, and this happened.

The police nodded and took notes as the family ranted about how even their hidden money had been stolen.

Outside, Bai Cuiyan collapsed to the ground, sobbing and slapping her thighs:
“We just went to a wedding banquet, and came back to a completely empty house! Officers, you must catch those thieves for us!”

She was gasping between sobs, her tears and snot mixing together—so pathetic it made the neighbors a bit uncomfortable.

“This has to be the work of a theft ring!” Bai Cuiyan kept crying while neighbors crowded the door, some inwardly gloating at the family’s misfortune.

“Old man, quick, give me the toilet paper!”

Right then, the two elderly folks rushed up the stairs. The grandma grabbed the roll of toilet paper from grandpa’s hand, ran into the bathroom, and slammed the door shut.

The officers were utterly dumbfounded.

Moments later, the bathroom was filled with some… unpleasant sounds.
