The news of Gu Chengze’s career change surprised everyone, which caught them completely off guard. 

Tang Momo was even more at a loss. She clearly remembered that Gu Chengze did not change his career until the end of the book. The current change might be because of her. 

If this was really the reason, she felt her guilt would probably follow her for the rest of her life. 

Tang Momo dared not think any further; she needed to calm down.

“Momo, what’s wrong with you lately? You seem distracted all the time,” 

Hu Jie and Wang Qian approached Tang Momo with concerned look on their faces. 

Tang Momo slightly leaned back and softly replied, “It’s nothing.” 

“That reminds me, I’ve made the drawings. Do you want to take a look?” 

Tang Momo said as she lowered her head to take the drawings from the drawer.  

“So fast?” 

Wang Qian’s face lit up with excitement; she didn’t expect it to be ready so soon. 

Tang Momo pulled out the drawings, and Wang Qian’s eyes brighten. Although it hadn’t been made, she was sure it would attract a lot of attention because this design wasn’t available on the market yet. 

“Momo, you’re so impressive.” 

Wang Qian was filled with enthusiasm. 

For a moment, the dormitory was filled with laughter and joy. 

At night, Tang Momo was lying on the bed, and Gu Chengze’s words began to ring in her mind again. Her cheeks began to slowly heat up. She quickly pulled the quilt away to cover her head, telling herself to stop thinking about it; she still had to work tomorrow. 

The days of waiting felt long. Even though there were only a few days left, Tang Momo thought it felt like an eternity. 

Finally, the day came when Gu Chengze would get off the train, and Tang Momo went to the train station early. 

On the way to the train station, Tang Momo was still a little worried. They had just entered a relationship, and they had hardly seen each other. 

Oops, I should have changed my clothes before coming here, at least to show that I care about him. 

Tang Momo thought with some regret.  

Hearing that familiar voice, Gu Chengze’s smile grew wider. He unconsciously quickened his pace, walked in front of Tang Momo, and said seriously, “You look good in anything you wear.”  

Tang Momo glanced at him with some confusion and began to wonder if this guy had the ability to read minds.

After dinner time, the state-run restaurant indeed had no food left. At this moment, Tang Momo remembered that the supply and marketing cooperative had probably closed as well. Thinking of this, she looked up at Gu Chengze and said gently, “The supply and marketing cooperative is probably closed. We can only go to my mother’s place and I can cook something for you.”

After Gu Chengze finished speaking, he began to explain the reasons for his change of career.

There was flour at home, so Tang Momo quickly made a bowl of hand-pulled noodles. When she brought the noodles out, she saw the two of them sitting in silence. 

Tang Momo put the bowl in front of Gu Chengze and asked casually, “Where are Jianan and the twins?” 

“They’ve already gone to sleep. Let Xiao Gu sleep with Jianan and the Jianping tonight.” 

“Aunt, no need. I’m staying at the guesthouse,” Gu Chengze quickly said. 

Zhang Xiaoli couldn’t help but nod when she heard this. It would be better to stay in a guest house to avoid any rumors. 

When Gu Chengze finished eating and followed Tang Momo to wash the dishes, Zhang Xiaoli stared at their backs. When the two came out, she looked at Gu Chengze. “That reminds me, Xiao Gu, what does your family think about you and my Momo?”
