In fact, Tang Momo felt that the days after marriage were no different from before. The only difference was that they could live together. 

But living together would surely lead to some misunderstandings. From the initial awkwardness to later familiarity, their understanding of each other deepened. 

It has to be said that Tang Momo actually enjoyed this process, and of course, it was the first time she realized the physical difference between her and Gu Chengze. 

She decided to wake up every day to run and exercise with Gu Chengze since it was part of his daily routine, but this decision only existed in her mind and was never put into action. 

In regard to having children, the two had reached an agreement. Moreover, Gu Chengze was supportive of many of Tang Momo’s decisions, which made her feel reassured. After all, who doesn’t like the feeling of someone supporting you with every decision you made? 

During their first year of marriage, Tang Momo focused most of her attention on her studies because next year she would probably focus on starting a business. 

Tang Momo never hide her plans from Gu Chengze. She would discuss them with him and ask if he had any better suggestions. 

When it comes to suggestions, Gu Chengze really had one, “Have you considered partnering with friends who have the same mindset for this project? ” 

Gu Chengze also had his own selfish reasons for making this suggestion. He felt that Tang Momo would be too tired doing everything alone. Although he would help her, she would be more relaxed if someone helped share the burden. 

“I’m afraid partnerships can lead to problems,” Tang Momo said sincerely. She was worried that friends who initially shared the same goals might eventually fall out over interests. Those things were too common when doing business. 

Human nature is the most difficult to test, especially when it comes to interests. 

Gu Chengze understood Tang Momo’s worries. He nodded, feeling a bit guilty. “It’s a pity I can’t help much.” 

“You’ve already helped me a lot. Just having your support alone helps me feel secure,” Tang Momo said, resting her head on Gu Chengze’s shoulder.

Before they got their marriage certificate, Gu Chengze had already given all his savings to Tang Momo. 

This time Tang Momo planned to open a small shop near the school, and she carefully planned everything step by step. 

Tang Momo used her past experience and decided to partner with a clothing factory. She provided the designs, and in return, the factory not only paid her a design fee but also sold the clothes to her at wholesale prices. 

At this time, most people were still accustomed to going to the supply and marketing cooperative or buying cloth to make their own clothes when purchasing clothes. When Tang Momo’s shop made an appearance, they found that it not only saved them effort but also looked better than what they could make, and the prices were reasonable. As a result, Tang Momo’s store became popular. 

Coupled with her studies, Tang Momo was even busier this year, and Gu Chengze also had new plans of his own, so they were both very busy—so busy that sometimes they didn’t see each other for a week. 

At first, Tang Momo found it a bit strange; she felt it was almost like a long-distance relationship. However, before she could adjust her schedule, Gu Chengze had already adjusted his own. 

“Will this take too much of your time?” Tang Momo actually felt very guilty about Gu Chengze coming to accommodate her. 

“It’s nothing to worry about. Don’t overthink it. You’re busy right now, so I should support you even more.” Because of Tang Momo’s efforts, Gu Chengze didn’t want to fall behind. However, he soon realized that this would mean they might not see each other for a week or more. 

His original motivation was to progress together with her, but now that they had no time to meet, wouldn’t that defeat his purpose?  

Tang Momo stepped up and kissed his forehead, “Gu Chengze, thank you for understanding me so much.” 

Gu Chengze put his arms around her waist, and his tone was full of tenderness. “Isn’t this what I should do? Just go for what you want; I’m always behind you.” 

Originally, he had never had a clear goal, but now seeing her work step by step toward hers made him very happy. 

But although he fully supports Tang Momo’s career, Gu Chengze has not completely given up on his future plans. He plans to continue studying and stay in school in the future. 

Tang Momo was surprised for a moment when she learns his plans, but when she looked into his dark eyes, her surprise quickly faded. As long as he liked it, the reason didn’t matter. 

At that time, Tang Momo’s clothing store had already achieved initial success. They estimated that it’s been two years since they last returned to Qingshui Brigade. Last year during the New Year, it was Zhang Xiaoli who brought the three children along with Zhao Xiuli to celebrate with them. 

That day, looking at Gu Chengze, who was lowering his head to write, Tang Momo suddenly suggested, “How about we go back during the holiday?” 

Gu Chengze knew how busy she was, so he was quite surprised when he heard her suggestion. “Why do you suddenly want to go back?” 

“Let’s bring Grandma over,” Tang Momo knew that Gu Chengze had always been worried about Zhao Xiuli. Over the past two years, Zhao Xiuli had frequently been unwell, and if the Gu family hadn’t let it slip during the last phone call, they wouldn’t have known about it until now. 

Gu Chengze’s hand paused for a moment, and then he shook his head gently, “Grandma won’t agree.” 

He had thought about bringing Zhao Xiuli over, but she was too stubborn to agree to such a thing.  

“If you don’t try, how will you know?” Tang Momo also knew that convincing Zhao Xiuli wouldn’t be easy, but what if it worked? 

Hearing Tang Momo’s words, a smile crept onto Gu Chengze’s lips, and he slowly nodded: “Okay, let’s give it a try.”  

Both of them act fast when they decided on something, so they went directly to the train station, bought tickets, and didn’t notify anyone. 

Listening to the familiar sound of the train, Tang Momo turned her head and glanced at the person next to her and said warmly, “It reminds me of the first time we went to school.” 

Tang Momo’s words also reminded Gu Chengze of the scene at that time. There was a smile on his lips, “Actually, I was very nervous at that time.” 

Tang Momo looked a bit confused. “Why were you so nervous?” 

Gu Chengze reached out to smooth her hair, recalling his feelings at the time and finding it somewhat amusing, “I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to take care of you well.” 

Back then, they had just gotten engaged and were going to school together. Gu Chengze felt the responsibility to take care of Tang Momo, so he was a bit worried about whether he could do it well. 

“It’s not like I can’t take care of myself. You worry too much.” Tang Momo pretended to glare at him, then placed her hand over his large hand, feeling a bit sweet inside. Did he really think so much back then?

Since it was a last-minute decision, Zhang Xiaoli was surprised to see them: “Why are you back at this time?” 

“Do we need find a reason to go home?” Tang Momo pretended to be unhappy.  

“Momo is right; you don’t need a reason to go home.” Zhang Xiaoli’s hurriedly invited them inside.  

After staying in the city for one night, the two returned to Qingshui Brigade early the next morning. 

As expected, the restless Zhao Xiuli had gone to work again. Seeing the two return, her eyes were filled with smiles as she talked about preparing meals at home.  

It had just rained a few days ago, and now was the perfect time to pick mushrooms. Tang Momo felt excited and turned to Gu Chengze. “Let’s go up the mountain to pick some mushrooms.” 

Gu Chengze would never refuse Tang Momo’s request. The two of them carried the basket and went up the mountain. Following the trail of mushrooms, they surprisingly arrived at the spot where he had rescued Tang Momo last time. 

They both stopped in their tracks, and it was Tang Momo who broke the silence, “That reminds me, doesn’t this count as our matchmaker?” 

A smile appeared on Gu Chengze’s lips, but thinking of Tang Momo’s expression back then, he slowly shook his head, “If there is a next time, I don’t want to get to know you in this way.” 

Understanding what Gu Chengze meant, Tang Momo couldn’t help but sigh in her heart. If it weren’t for this, you probably would never have met me in your lifetime. 

Standing beside her, Gu Chengze paused for a moment, then quickly relaxed. He had long suspected many things, and in that moment, those suspicions were confirmed. 

He suddenly felt that perhaps all the misfortunes of his early life were meant to accumulate enough luck to meet her. 

At that moment, all of Gu Chengze’s past grievances and resentment were wiped away. He thought he was actually lucky; at least he met her, right?
