Everyone was momentarily stunned, and when they saw what had emerged, the more timid women screamed, “Oh my god! A w-wild boar! It’s so big and black!”
Sure enough, what had suddenly burst out of the bushes was a wild boar. Its entire body was pitch black, with bristly fur standing on end like steel needles. Its hideous pig face was bared, revealing terrifying, sharp white fangs. Judging by its size, it must have weighed at least 300 to 400 pounds—like a small, black mountain.
Foam dripped from the corners of its mouth as it snorted heavily, “Huff! Huff!” Clearly, this was not an animal to be trifled with.
Instinctively, everyone took a step back!
However, the wild boar did not charge at them right away. It stood still, as if assessing their combat strength.
Wang Tiezhu locked his gaze onto the wild boar and whispered to the others, “Back away slowly and climb the nearest tree. Hurry!”
Huang Bin snapped out of his daze and scoffed, “What the hell are you all afraid of? It’s just a wild boar. Perfect, let me show you how I take down this beast.”
He raised his gun, aimed at the wild boar, and was about to pull the trigger…
“Don’t shoot!” Wang Tiezhu shouted urgently.
But it was too late!
Bang!
The gunshot echoed through the forest, startling birds into flight. However, it completely missed the wild boar. Worse, it enraged the beast. With a powerful push of its hooves, it charged straight at them like a battering ram.
Huang Bin panicked. Luckily, his gun was automatic and could fire continuously. He quickly fired another shot—Bang!
This time, he hit the boar, but not in a fatal spot. Wild boars, having lived in the mountains for years, develop incredibly thick skin. They even rub against pine resin and roll in dirt and wood chips, forming a hardened, armor-like layer that makes them nearly impervious to bullets.
Not only did the shot fail to wound it, but it also infuriated the boar even more.
With a ferocious roar, it charged straight at Huang Bin!
“Ahhhhhh!”
Just moments ago, he had been acting all tough, bragging about hunting tigers. Now, he was completely terrified. His gun slipped from his hands, and he turned to run, not even sparing a glance at Ye Wei, the stunning beauty beside him.
The woman screamed in fear, but her feet remained rooted to the ground—she was paralyzed with terror!
Now, she had the full attention of the wild boar.
“Run! Stop screaming!”
Wang Tiezhu was panicking. This woman was like a driver who had lost control of their car—he was yelling at her to hit the brakes, but she just covered her face and screamed for help instead.
Still frozen in place, Ye Wei was about to be rammed by the boar.
There was no way Wang Tiezhu could abandon someone in danger.
Even as he shouted, he was already moving. He lunged forward and tackled Ye Wei to the ground, rolling them both away just in time. The boar missed them by mere inches.
It was a close call!
They tumbled a few times before stopping, with Wang Tiezhu ending up on top of Ye Wei. His solid chest pressed against her soft curves, flattening them.
Despite the danger, there was an undeniable sensation of warmth and softness that was… difficult to ignore.
But Wang Tiezhu had no time for distractions. He immediately got up, pulled Ye Wei to her feet, and saw the wild boar turning back for another charge. Thinking fast, he tore the satchel off his chest and threw it aside, shouting,
“Here, beast! There’s food inside—take it!”
The brainless animal was easily deceived and dashed toward the bag instead. This gave them a precious moment to breathe.
Wang Tiezhu grabbed Ye Wei’s hand. “Move! Up the tree!”
They ran to a large tree thick enough to require two people to encircle it.
“You climb up first—I’ll protect you. Hurry!”
Ye Wei was so scared that she was crying. “I… I can’t climb trees! Waaaah!”
“Stop crying!”
Wang Tiezhu was speechless. What good was crying going to do?
He crouched down. “Come on, sit on my shoulders. See that branch up there? Grab onto it and pull yourself up.”
“A-Ah…” Ye Wei blushed, hesitating.
“What are you waiting for?! You wanna get gored by that thing?!”
At the mention of the massive, black beast, Ye Wei shuddered—absolutely not!
With no time to think, she hurriedly swung her long legs over his shoulders, her whole body tense. She had never been this physically close to a man before.
Wang Tiezhu stood up. He was over 1.8 meters tall, and Ye Wei wasn’t short either. Once lifted, she could easily reach the branch.
“Use your strength! Climb up! Stop just wiggling around—ugh, focus!”
Ye Wei squirmed and struggled like a worm, making Wang Tiezhu nearly lose his composure. He gritted his teeth and shouted, “Put some effort into it!” He placed his hands on her waist and hoisted her up.
Damn, for someone who looked so delicate, she was surprisingly… well-endowed.
With great effort, he finally managed to push her onto the branch, where she was finally safe.
Just as he was catching his breath, the furious, deceived wild boar turned its rage back on him. Since everyone else had climbed up, he was the only one left on the ground.
“Watch out!”
Ye Wei cried out from above.
Wang Tiezhu rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the charge. The boar slammed into the tree trunk, shaking the entire tree violently. Leaves rained down.
“Damn beast!”
Crouching on the ground, Wang Tiezhu spat out a mouthful of dirt.
His eyes fell on Huang Bin’s discarded gun nearby. He swiftly grabbed it, raised it, aimed, and fired—all in one smooth motion. Bang!
The bullet hit the wild boar’s lower abdomen—its weak spot.
Splurt!
Blood gushed out.
“Rooooar!”
Instead of retreating, the wounded boar became even more enraged. Its eyes turned bloodshot as it charged again.
Wang Tiezhu remained calm, his reflexes sharp. He dodged swiftly, waiting for another opportunity.
He fired again—Bang!
This time, he blew the beast’s intestines out. Even with its guts spilling onto the ground, the boar still charged at him. What a beast!
But its speed was noticeably slower now.
Wang Tiezhu wasn’t in a rush anymore. He let the boar bleed out, dodging and dragging out the fight.
After twenty grueling minutes, the wild boar finally collapsed with a thud, its body drenched in blood. It lay there, wheezing heavily, unable to get back up.
Without hesitation, Wang Tiezhu strode forward, drew the machete from his waist, and crouched beside the dying beast.
“Rest in peace, monster.”
With a swift stab, the blade plunged into the boar’s throat.
Schlick!
The white blade went in, red came out.
The boar twitched violently for a few seconds before going completely still.
